It is worth the buy.. it is lag free and smooth.. just dont upgrade it to 4.4.2 or few important features would go away.. use the 4.3 which is provided out of the box..

I agree. It's a good performing device. I barely find lags and you may find a lot of people complaining about the Hexa core processor but don't let that get you down. It comes with something called 'Heterogeneous Multi-Processing' which means all six cores (four 1.3GHz cores and two 1.7GHz cores) can be active at the same time so you can get more done with heavy applications. It also saves battery by activating only the two 1.7GHz cores for other normal less intensive applications thus saving battery.
Doesn't get very hot and the battery life is amazing.

No other phone with these great specs is available in this price range except micromax and the others which shouldn't be opted for.. moto x is okay too but then the gen 2 is gonna launch and it doesn't have the expandable storage ..

I've been using the phone for over 3 months now and have never had that rebooting problem. Only the WiFi and Bluetooth isn't turning on, which is apparently a problem with the antenna. You can get the phone online for much cheaper but make sure you get the one with manufacturer warranty.
If I had to buy a phone in that range today, I'd go for the OnePlus One. It's available only in the US right now, and I know a lot of friends who have already purchased the using a trans-shipment service like PPOBOX. Check it out.
My views:-
Most of the mobile in Market having fix memory card & non detachable battery.
Samsung is the only phone and market leader which gives all options and advantages.
Phone battery is good no doubt however it is depends what you are doing with your phone.
You can expect an extended battery in near future or else you easily carry an extra battery if you are a heavy user.

But what I observed is that the BT and wifi issues have happened only in the international n7502 version and not the indian n750 version.. but if you buy a phone with the manufacturer warranty as stated by ashwin, you wont have to worry at all..
and yeah one plus one is officially coming to India after October. So if you could wait till then you can get the One Plus too..

Thank you for ur input guys, actually i have a 5.5k discount voucher of reliance digital so this phone would cost me like 19.5k and i think that would be the deal clincher as far as the costing goes, i also read about the hexa core device and its performance is commendable. That motherboard issue of reeboting while charging may be an issue in some devices. So i think i will go forward with this device. Looking forward to join you guys here soon.

For me, it's the best phone i bought. I had a iphone 4s and the Zenfone 2 rocks.
Fast, great screen, 64gb plus another 64gb micro sd, i love the camera quality. The only downside is the battery size. I wish that it would last longer but right now, it's not a big issue for me.
Definitely a great phone to buy.

This is a flagship phone with a small price...
There are little problems here and there but that can be said about ALL phones... Battery is always a problem with the newer phones, the higher screen resolution really eats up battery, and the memory leak from Android 5. 0 probably doesn't help. But saying that, we have 4gb of ram that pretty much kicks arse and, when it came out, was the largest amount of ram in a phone...
I be had my 4g/64 model for 3 months and I can honestly say it is a great deal for the price. Very fast and responsive.

Easy to root and by the magic of Linux Deploy I'm running 64-bit ubuntu 15.04 alongside android. I can take notes in emacs while talking on the phone.
I do recommend upgrading to a quick-charge charger wherever you can. I'm having good success with the tronsmart chargers on amazon.

Before my phone went brick, I was not happy with its memory management. I was starting to run slow after a couple of hours of usage, and it didn't help much after killing apps. Is that the memory leak from Android you refer?
I was just using the stock ROM.
thanks
I got the 128 gig version and honestly have not been happier. Battery life is decent, camera is so so, but multi-tasking is really awesome. The UI is a bit bit cartoonish in parts, but with Nova launcher and some judicious changes in Nova/Dev settings (minor), it never lags, never stutters and is the only android phone outside the nexus family, where twitter for android scrolls properly.
It's an incredible device, for its price point. Enough said

What model?
The 551ML 4gb ram model I use has no issues with memory management and seem to power through anything but there was a few people saying their 550ML model was a little piss poor due to the 2gb they have.
If you have the 550ML then you probably aren't going to have anything improve much due to the physical limitations...
Certainly not junk! I only got the 550 (720p, 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, no NFC and although fast-charging capable, no fast-charger). But even with this cheaper, lower-spec model, and inspite of some software niggles and could-be-better battery life, I am really enjoying this device. Love how it feels in the hand, love the big screen, love how smooth it is to use. It benchmarks on a par with last-gen flagships but I think the Intel SOC actually performs even better than those figures suggest in actual real-life use. A higher mid-range device's power for low-budget device bucks! The camera is very good, not great but way better than it should be considering the price. As I said, there are little niggles and problems and things which could be better, but they all seem very insignificant when you take into consideration the price. The cost performance ratio of this phone is pretty mind-blowing! It is also great that we have an active xda community and plenty of dev support for our device. I enjoy both the stock ASUS experience (tweaked to my satisfaction, naturally) and the CM experience - so much that I have been flitting back and forth from one to the other with regularity. Overall, not a device I'd recommend to luddite noobs who aren't prepared to put some effort in to get it set up right for them, but for anyone who actually knows a little or is prepared to learn it is a fun device and a great value proposition!
I'm very happy with my Z008
Definitely a great phone to buy.

Actually, my cell phone has ressurected today. And I have the rare 551ML with 2gb ram. It has only 400mb of free RAM right after booting up. So, 1.6gb is consumed with "basic" (bloat) stuff. My phone came rooted. I'm trying to stop and uninstall some stuff, but I didn't have much luck yet.
Thanks
I run Uber/Lyft both at the same time in the background and it severely throttles the 5X. To the point where it's not even useable and I miss rides. I've checked the memory in the settings and the ram is maxed out when running both apps.
I did not have this problem with the previous Nexus 6. Occasionally it would take a second when responding to a ride request and switching off the other app, but nothing like the 5X. This is really disappointing because I like the design of the 5X more than the 6P and I was a Nexus 5 owner in the past.
This leaves me no choice, but to spend the extra $100 on the 6P. Any other Uber/Lyft drivers to chime in?
Configuration:
Fully stock, non-rooted
Do you have any more apps running in the background?
You can check what is running under developer options -> running services

Not really. Just mostly system apps (System, Google Play) and Facebook take up most of the usage. But when I have Uber and Lyft both running at the same time, there's only about 100MB free RAM.
I'd talk to the developers of both apps - sounds like the apps have memory leak issues or could at least be optimised for a friendlier RAM footprint.

Yeah that's a good suggestion. Lyft seems to use fair amount more than Uber and it also runs in the background longer.
Only around 2% of android users run marshmallow. Developers are very slow on optimizing for the new version because such a small user base is actually on it. That's the only issue the nexus line ever runs into due to being on the bleeding edge of software.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's more frustrating though with billion dollar companies that don't find it important to have their developers update the apps when there's a new OS update.
I love android but this is a huge reason why iOS has a huge advantage over android. They update all devices seamlessly. Developers update apps to work on newest iOS immediately, and most work on phone and tablet. Their software has that advantage for sure. Android is more fun, but still such a beta feel to it. The more they improve, the more they seem to ruin

I have read reviews on many sites and they all say that the performance, screen, sound are terrible. I would like to hear from actual owners what they think. Thank You in advance.
Hey man, I just bought an HTC Desire last week. For 130$ it's a great phone. Performance is okay and I'd say it's good at the price point. Doing everyday tasks like email and web browser are smooth. Coming from previously using flagship devices like the Nexus line I can tell the difference. A flagship device with a higher tier chipset is a noticeable difference in how smooth and snappy it is in basic tasks. Demanding games like Jurassic world are a little lagging running at about 25fps I'd say. Less demanding games are fine.
The screen is good, it's colors are nice and it gets bright enough. The viewing angle is a tad low. The speakers are great! they are front firing not downwards and that makes a big difference.
GSM arena claims this phone supports 5Ghz WiFi but that's not true. It is 2Ghz only.
I'm looking into the possibility of rooting and overclocking this, anyone know about OC'ing a Snapdragon 210 chipset?
This phone is horrible. It's like 2 seconds behind on every tap. Its probably one of the worst phones I have ever used. I got one until my pixel xl comes in .

The CPU and lack of RAM are the real setbacks on the Desire 530. I had the HTC One A9 before switching to this device and I can tell the difference.
As mentioned by other users you can Root, Install Xposed and freeze/Uninstall resource hungry System Apps in order to gain some much needed power. I would recommend starting with another Launcher(I use Nova) and then Freeze/Uninstall unused System Apps/Bloatware.
*If anybody has rooted and uninstalled System Apps like myself please PM me the App Names so I can compile a "Safe To Remove" list.*

I'm thinking about finally buying a new phone to replace my old nexus 5x... Pixel 2 XL is definitely on my list, as well as V30.
But I've looked at the speed tests on YouTube from the phonebuff guy and it struck me that all the Android phones with less than 6gb ram struggle greatly with the test in opening all the apps for the second time. For me it's really close to daily usage test and I must say that I notice it more and more switching from different apps. None of the phones with 6gb (oneplus 5, P10, s8+) as well as iPhone 7 / 7 plus had any issues in that manner. On the other hand side I'm not a gamer so not sure whether I will notice that problem at all with a 4Gb phone...
I also don't think that the oreo will bring any improvement (at least it didn't to my 5x).
Not sure what to do now... I'll also wait for the huawei mate 10 and then make a decision...
Any thoughts?
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I have a Nexus 5X as well and while 2GB isn't enough in my experience it's just barely not enough. I personally am not concerned at all that 4GB isn't going to be enough.
I had a regular xl and it was really smooth on Oreo. I'm not really worried about 4 gb

If 4GB Ram is enough for Galaxy S8+, which it is, I have one! With all TW nonsense,
it'd surely be enough for Pixel 2/XL devices as well!

Agreed. My Galaxy S8 ran buttery smooth with 4GB RAM, even with the obnoxious amount of bloatware Samsung puts on the phone. I used the S8 as my daily driver for 4 months and never had a hiccup/stutter. So the Pixel 2 XL should be perfectly fine with 4GB RAM.
Oddly enough, my 4 day old LG V30 with 4GB RAM stutters/lags all over the place. However, I truly believe this is due to LG's software needing some significant performance optimization, rather than the phone having 4GB RAM.
I can't wait to get my Pixel 2 XL and turn this V30 back into T-Mobile.
I ran every single app on my phone back to back while setting up my 2XL. I have over 100 apps installed. At one point I needed to go back to play something I had left running on the Xfinity streaming app. When I used the app switcher, it was like I never unloaded the program, and I was something like 20-30 apps deep at that point. It loaded exactly where I left it and exactly where I paused it.
Whatever they're doing with the software is great and 4 gigs seems like more than enough.
On every phone I've owned I'm always most interested in performance so this is great to hear.
I know I'm going to be happy with the screen, I know I'm going to love the camera and I've already held the phone in a verizon store, so I know I love the look and feel. The performance seemed terrific in the store but I couldn't really put it through its paces so thanks for the update.

How is it better? I have OP3 with 6GB and don't notice much of a difference with RAM on Nexus 6P already which has 3GB
I guess it just boggles my mind that 4gb can somehow not be "enough" on a phone today when 4gb can most definitely be "enough" when using a full desktop PC.
And yes I get it.....8gb is preferable on desktop PC's now. I understand. But if you ONLY used a desktop PC for the exact same things you use a phone for, 4gb is not an issue. At all.
