Hi all,
My LG G4 doesn't turn on anymore even while I am charging it..
I am actually travelling, I suspect it does come from a high voltage when I tried to charge it in a bus.
At the beggining I tried to put the battery off the phone, first the screen with logo for few seconds and after black screen. Now only black screen.
When I try to charge it , nothing happens.
1st question : do you think that a hight voltage can break any other spare parts of the phone ? Do you think the battery can be a fusible ?
Where I am , I didn t find a LG selling point so I cannot try with another battery for now.
My phone is not under warranty anymore.
Do you think that this troube can be repaired in a common repair service center ? ( not LG )
Any advice except waiting to find another battery ?
Thank you guys !

The simplist thing to do is check if the battery is charged and working. Check the serial number on the back and reply with the first 3 digits here. It is likely that you have faulty phone that needs to be fixed by LG (if it is still in warranty)
If you're sure your phone isn't a faulty model, try to enter recovery mode.
1. Hold down the power and volume down button together.
2. If the LG logo appears, continue holding the volume down button but let go of the power button for 1 second. Then hold it again.
If you get to a recovery menu, there is hope.

Thank for your reply.
With my current battery (as I still didn't have the opportunity to try to change it) , I can't even power it on (no logo even while try to enter recovery mode)
I will try with a new battery and let you know !

Erm guys, I've pulled out my LGOG out of the cupboard after about 6 months. Now, when i plug in the charger, the LG logo shows up for a brief moment, and the phone is now stuck in a black screen.
I am trying to hard reset the phone by pressing Power + Vol Down but they dont seem to be responding.
Before my LGOG went into the cupboard, I unlocked it using FreeGee. People were saying that the phone should never be turned off.
I hope you guys can help me , or i will just dump this phone back into the cupboard...
Thanks

That won't work.
Solved your problem? When my e975 discharged to 0%, he shows same thing as yours. I hold power button (sometimes trying to go bootloader) and led indicator shows blinking red light, and hold more, after 2 mins i try to turn on(if not try hold again). It works for me, maybe you shoud try too.
This thing happen because our G bootloader dont charge our phone off because a bug. So you need to turn on when the charger are coneted and maybe you have lucky. You need to read some things before flash any thing on your phone

Try home+power+vol up+vol down and hold it for 1-2 minutes or until something happens? Try it also while it's plugged in.

1. Home + Vol up + Power.
2. Home + Vol down + power
3. Home + Vol down and Vol up + power.
4. Menu Touch button + Power.
And i did all this connected on PC, Disconnected, Connected on a original Wall Charger and on a parallel wall charger.
Do you even get the noise on the pc to detect that something is connected?

Hi Gustavo,
Sorry I'm new member but may be able to help you with this.
I had a similar experience with my son's tab 3 kid's edition last year.
It just died and wouldn't turn on. I tried everything but no luck. I then decided to take the tablet back to samsung store and packed it. I was suppose to go the store 2 days later but after 48 hours of device dying I just thought of trying to turn it on and plugged it in to the wall charger.
To my surprise display came on showing red battery icon and after 30 mins approx, device showed green battery icon still charging. after roughly 10 hours I turned the device on and it works flawlessly since then.
Hope this helps.

Hi! Thanks for the help! But before i make this topic i waited for 3 days to put tablet on a charger.... nothing happened =/ But i'm gonna try again!
I had a similar problem.
Do you know how to separate the screen from the body? I found that the connector at the base of battery was very loose. I managed to push it down and it turned on right after.
Hope this helps!
Whilst I agree it could be a loose connector, it would void your warranty. I would see about going to your local samsung repair centre and see if they can have a look without wiping.
This happend to my 8.4 last week, no way to revive but i can feel warm at the back while doing all the first aid trix but no luck. So i decided to bring it to the nearest samsung store w/repair service they remove the back cover and battery, they told me they just ¿¿refresh start?? the battery? because it was drained!!?? wtf i remeber i left it with 30% charge... but anyway they fixd it in less than an hour. But yesterday the symptom returnd again i have to power+down+home just to turn it on :/
Plug in the charger then press power + vol down (not up). Hold for a good while until it restarts.
If it doesn't then it could be hardware related.
With so many people reporting battery problems, you might just have a bad battery and that's why it gets hot when connected to a charger. *I* would open it and check the battery's connection and maybe even replace the battery.
I saw some videos...but i don't want to void warranty :/

Hello can somebody please help me I have had this phone for six months with no problems everything been fine with all original android/stock , I have been using it today and had about 60 percent battery left, I went to check it and it wouldn't respond to me pressing the power button, it also will not charge either, the charging light does not come on, I have tried press the volume button up, down and both at same time with the power button for long and short periods of time I am totally stuck what to do , it is dead After reading some more things online I would like to state it has not been connected to a PC or anything. If anyone could recommend something, I am in the U.K the phone isn't on sale here so I am not sure if warranty is covered.
You need to do a battery pull. Its rather simple, just remove the screws and back cover. Afterwards disconnect the battery cable and reconnect it
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
Would this affect my warranty (IF I have one in the UK) If I open it up?
just an update I have spoke to Asus they have emailed me to say I am not under warranty here in the UK as it was purchased from another country ( I bought off ebay ) so not sure what to do now.
just a quick update I have stripped the back off disconnected/reconnected the battery still nothing totally dead?
Hello, please i need help. My note 2 cant turn on after rebooting. When i conect it to charge, LED charging indicator not working. Phone is completely dead. Problem is in power ic chip? Can be data restored when i replace ic chip on motherboard? On aliexpress i see for note 2 small power ic and big power ic. What is different between small and big ic? On motherboard can i found two chips - smll and big power ic?
Phone is old, but i need data on internal storage.
Many thanks for response.
Try removing the battery and charger, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then replace the battery and try charging the phone again. . Same thing just happened to me today
Thanks for your answer, i tried many tricks and i tried yout trick but its not working after 30 seconds without batery and charging, phone doesnt working phone is still dead
I would like to know too, mine gone ice cold just like that. I do remember my battery was fully charged, then the next day can't power on, no signs of charging when plugged. Did everything I can still no signs of life....
I think it is SDS (Sudden Death Syndrome)
and it is related to EMMC ( bad internal storage ) , so maybe in your case it is not IC power problem
so before you buy any thing , you should ask service person to check your phone

as far I know
when the phone (note2 ) stuck at this point (black screen)
it can be checked via power supply ( service center ) in order to test how much AMP needed to power the phone, so they can decide if it is [[ battery issue or IC power or EMMC.....or other thing
so you cannot go far and buy parts for your phone before you ( or asK) an expert
Regards

Ok thank you
by the way before you judge you can try this
in some cases ( black screen ) can be restored via JIG to access to download mode
then you can try to flash the correct firmware to your device via ODIN

My stock Nexus 5x was working fine this morning. On my drive to work, the phone had 39% batter remaining (I forgot to charge it overnight), and I attempted to make a call over my car's built-in blue tooth. When the outgoing call failed a second time, I looked down at my phone and noticed the screen was black. I have tried holding the power button for various amounts of time but nothing happens. I've also tried charging the phone, in case the battery meter was out of calibration, but nothing seems to elicit any sign of life.
I recall from past mobile devices that there's a combination of buttons that can be pressed and held for so many seconds to force a reboot. Is there such a procedure for the 5x? I have some past experience with rooting phones, connecting them to my computer with Odin, ADB, etc. Is there anything I can try?
Thanks for any pointers, this sucks!
@Dirt_Bag: Hold Vol-, then press Power until the 1st screen. Then immediatly the base menu of bootloader appears. Good luck.

Thanks for the instructions but it's not working. My phone shows no signs of life... I should have all my photos backed up elsewhere, but in case I don't, is there anyway to access the internal storage?
@Dirt_Bag: maybe experts can read it. I've no idea.
Try pressing and holding the power button for at least 30 seconds.
My wife's Google Nexus 5x died yesterday too. Go to load recovery mode, and it does nothing. I can get into developer boot screen, but that's it... Nothing works.
had a friend's nexus 5x die in a similar way just a few days ago too. won't power on at all. not sure this is the bootloop issue, seems more like a battery thing. but no idea
Contact LG chat. Explain it to them and that you were told the warranty was extended to 30 months on the Nexus 5X. They'll have you put in a repair request. Takes about 2 weeks or so.
If you can get into bootloader but the phone WILL NOT boot into the OS.... it's a bootloop. If the device is hard dead, it's still part of the bootloop.
Bottom line... LG extended the Nexus 5X to a 30 month hardware defect warranty. You send in your phone, you'll get a new (hopefully revised) mainboard with your same IMEI.

Whenever I've received back my phone from repair the IMEI has been different.
Is IMEI important for CDMA networks?
