On the M7, you could dial ##778# and get Display with total time on phone, CDMA settings, and modem settings with EPST.
M9's have EPST installed - - does anyone know what you do to get into M9 EPST? Thanks.

There's probably a better way but I get into it via battery monitor widget. When you get to the default screen in the app there's a tests button at the bottom. Click that and you can get what you want.

Hey everyone was a incredible member, until now. below is directions about how to make call quality clearer on the incredible. Just wondering if there is a way to do this on the evo?
I claim NO credit for this. Just letting you all know.
I can confirm it made a huge different for me.
1.Go to Phone and Dial ##778
2.Choose Edit Mode
3.Password is 000000
4.Go to CDMA Settings
5.Scroll all the way to bottom
6.Change Home Page, Home Orig, and Roam Orig from EVRC to EVRC-B
7.Hit Menu and Commit Changes
Phone reboots and walla no more muffed voice calls!
enjoy your uber phone.
It worked very well for me on the incredible.
Doesn't work. Can't dial that number.

Shouldn't that be ##786# ?
Shouldn't that 000000 be your MSL Number?
What is msl number? I wanna do this but I'm not sure of the source is credible at this point.
I have NO IDEA on what the number should be. I tried to dial it and it made a call. I was a Verizon user for 10 years so i am 3 days new to sprint and it's service numbers.
I was posting this thread asking others if they knew a way to make this work on our sprint evo's? It worked very well on my incredible.
i cant rember how but i found this listed in one of the dialer code menu and it was set at b allready
thanks kwajr
##778 or ##778# didn't work for me on my new sprint evo. bad call quality, too quiet and too crackly on calls

I think he meant ##786# or ##775#
I get my phone tomorrow and I can verify then.

yea...i am hearing some noice in background, will call sprint tomorrow for the MSL code.
Done... noticed that Evo options are only Home Orig (was set to EVRC) and Roam Orig (was set to Voice 13k). Updated both to EVRC-B.
Try the logcat version to get the msl code easy as pie its in the hero forums

I tried the logcat trick, never could find the MSL in the log.
So does it make the calls any better? Any updated instruction?

Did you pause it.

Yes, I paused it after it finished 'reading the log'. I also tried a filter of 'I/' to only show the informational messages. Couldn't find it that way either.
Didn't work for me either. I just called Sprint and was able to get my code. Took all of 2 mins.

When i tried to make a call this morning my calls wouldnt go through. i wouldnt get calls either. i would also get these error messages when sending texts. Unable to send/receive a text message.
SMS Error
Radio Interface Resource Shortage
Details
Cause Code:64
Error Class:2... my phone was perfectly fine yesterday. i would also get stuck on the call screen when i end a call. could this be on sprints end?
It happened to both my wife and I, try updating your PRL that's what trying to update.
updated but its still getting some sms errors and some calls are still not getting thru
I'm in Myrtle Beach right now and it's terrible. Calls take about a minute to go through and texts won't send. Data browsing is painfully slow also.
are you rooted? and do you have a X over your signal bars?
yeah same here and calls are going to my voice mail. instead of the sms error it says network not responding.
yeah im rooted. my signal goes in and out. i update prl and reboot and everything works for about five minutes and then everything goes wonky
If you know your MSL number if not search the market for " msl reader " then go to your dialer and type in ##3283# then press edit mode, type in your msl number/ password then press date profile, press menu, and hit restore ( don't worry this won't erase anything ) let it do its magic .
theres two options when i go into edit mode. mobile directory number and msid. which one do i edit?
Once you're in Edit mode, go to data profile and just hit your menu button and select Restore. and let it reboot and it should set up your data like new without you losing any of your settings.

Nothing comes up when i do ##3283#.
I think you have to be running a sense rom but I am not entirely sure.

Hi.
I have flashed my phone. Added Profile 1 in QPST M.IP tab. All is good, 3g works, but as soon as I reboot the phone it switches to Profile 0.
I would like to ask anyone if you why this is? Is it Radio or Rom related? Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

After you make the changes are you hitting the menu button and selecting "commit modifications"?
Silly question, but what is it you are actually doing? What is this profile for? Thanks.

Yes I am. I tried it in ##DATA# and in QPST Service Programming but as soon as I reboot it changes to Profile 0. It like the NV item gets set back to zero.
BTW, does VZW have only one profile for data?
@country,
This is for those that flash the phone to a different provider that use two Profiles.

Does anyone have a good link or how-to for manually programming the Incredible? My phone won't call/text/connect to mobile network, but everything else (wi-fi, GPS, all apps) work fine. I think manually programming could fix it, but it seems like some murky territory if you're not absolutely sure what you're doing
Set up only involves you dialing *228 and follow the prompts to either activate a phone or update your roaming. I believe the only other activation method involves Verizon doing this in store.
It depends on what Rom you are using and what EPST but I can type ##000000# and able to change MSN and MSID(MIN). Then I can also type ##PRL#, 000000, which allows to update the PRL. With this Voice and Text should work. Only other thing that might need updating is SID which I found after typing ##DATA#, edit, 000000, in Advanced.
Again, it depends on the version of EPST you have on the phone.
The other way to manually program would be using QPST on your computer and typing ##DIAG# on the phone.
Finally some roms require to press Call after the # codes.

I tried to program it with *228 but my phone couldn't even connect to the network to do that. It can't connect a call at all.

Gotcha. To add, you must perform *228 while on a Sense ROM then revert back to AOSP. I'm not sure if you did that or if that would help in this case. That said, FlagMax's magic is way more in depth.
You mind my asking, when and how did this issue arise?

I had unrooted and flashed back to stock RUU when I tried the *228. Still didn't work.
Was a very strange situation. Phone was workign fine Saturday night when I went to bed. When I woke up Christmas morning, the screen wouldn't turn on and there was no LED indicator when I plugged it into a charger. I pulled the battery a couple times, but it wouldn't turn back on until I had pulled the battery and wiped the contacts off. After it booted back up, I wasn't able to call/text, but could still connect to mobile internet and wi-fi. I figured it was just terrible reception at my parents' house, but on the drive back the next day I lost mobile internet too and wasn't able to do anything with it since.
No clue what happened... but it all started with that battery problem. Go figure.
that's exactly the same as my problem.
I experienced a few reboots on the past week and suddenly it disconnected from network.

I just entered the above settings and opened the Hidden Menu...
Works on my LS980 running KK 4.4.2 Stock Rooted
I was about to ask our beloved developers regarding this, I can access the hidden menu but it is nothing like the one we used to get in JellyBean, the hidden menu in KitKat is highly stripped one compared to hidden menu in JellyBean but can access it.
Yep
There are no "data" on kk
Without it flashing to another carrier is imposible((
The code also works on my 4.4.2 G2

It works, but the item "datŠ°" there is no longer
we need @Data@ for switch "PPP Carrier" - from SPRINT to Undetermined.
It makes available 3G on CDMA network. Otherwise wee have only 1X.
Maybe there is another solution to activate 3G?

waiting for this too.
It will be great if we can find another way to access to Data hidden menu. Meanwhile you can downgrade to ZV8 and change the settings and update back to KK.
