hi there! a week ago I bought my note 2 an it was perfect! but last Wednesday I took it from the table to answer a whatsapp and just after I unlock it, the screen turned black... I thought it was a. sudden restart...but no! notification light was blinking and when I pressed the power button soft keys turned on and off like normally does...I took off battery but nothing... the touch function was fine because I could hear lockscreen sounds... after long hours the screen came back, first with a yellowish tint all over, then normal and then after few hours black again... I send it for warranty repair but Ijust wanted to know if someone else has have such problem?? thanks in advance and sorry for bad English!!
My brother faced the same problem with his Galaxy S3 because he dropped the phone on a hard floor.The screen went black and didn't come on.So he took it to service center.The service center guy said it was due to screen's connection dislodging from the motherboard and repaired it for free.

I have a rooted Note 2 with DN3 V5.2 Rom, suddenly while using what's app the screen went blank all of a sudden. The screen is still responsive to touch however the display is not coming up. Any idea what the issue might be??

So I've had my Epic for a year now, no problems with it until today. Its been happening more and more frequently today where I will turn the screen off and after say 5 minutes I try to turn it back on and only the softkeys light up. I can still unlock my phone (from memory of where to drag the lock) and even reboot it when I hold the power button. Is it a hardware problem? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Took it in to Sprint, and they found out the screen was going bad. They changed it and problem solved. Only thing is, if you don't have insurance on the phone it may cost you $35....

Got mine note 2 for about 5 days ago, and today after playing with s-pen and drawing app i notices a tiny black line from power button to volum rockers.
Can i get it replaced? or do I have to live with it
The line is everywhere, doesent matter what app i use, or launcer. :S

Posting a picture would be helpful. What you are describing sounds like you have a row of dead pixels. Definitely contact the seller and ask for a replacement/return. While you could go through Samsung it would be quicker and less stressful to do it through the point of purchase.

Its tiny, cant realy take picture of it, but its visual on white backround. I will go to Samsung Quick Service Center and ask them there. Thanks for answer !
An update lol, kinda loong time. After i got the first note2, i quicly returned it and bought a new one. Now 5 months later no problem with my note2. !
TLDR: was walking with my plate watching youtube like one does and then the phone fell. the screen was still on when it fell then i just picked it up, locked the screen and put it in my pocket. i take it out and BAM it doesnt work anymore. Screen is black but the back and menu button still glow.
Took out battery and put it back and nothing happened. any ideas?
I cracked my screen one night... still worked but the next day I woke up and all of a sudden the screen is black (back and menu buttons still lit up)... actually have heard quite a few owners report this issue when dropped... probably a loosened cable or some sort of manufacture issue that happens when the phone lands a certain way after being dropped... sorry bud...

damn i knew it had to be an internal issue. well im going to stop by a samsung repair/service center i saw going back and forward from my house and see what they can do.
EDIT: well it sucks but i may have broke the lower half of the touchscreen and it seems like the lcd is completely dead even though the phone is pretty much fully functional. well time to get a replacement

Three month ago my nexus 5x touch screen started to work awkwardly, sometimes its perfect and sometimes it doesn't work at all until number of locking and unlocking the phone it would work again, until yesterday the screen suddenly rotated upside down!! and then purple flashes then nothing at all, not even google logo just white or purple screen.
So I want to make sure its a screen replacement issue and not a motherboard issue, and where can I buy an affordable one that ships internationally.

P.S: screen used to work perfectly in recovery before the purple thing.
And If it is as I expect a Hardware issue. I'm out of warranty or a repair point where I live, Do you think buying a new screen frame will fix it for sure or it might be another hardware failure?

Did your phone water damaged? I have the same issue but some water was poured on my phone 2 months ago. Now I am waiting for my replacement screen.
My screen seems to have developed a fault. A couple of days ago I left my phone fully working with no issues to charge overnight and in the morning when I picked it up the bottom 2 or 3cm of screen was black as if it was dead. Then over the course of a few minutes the bottom went from dead to static to lots of green and red dots to working fine. Except there are dark horizontal lines across the whole screen which are more noticeable when there is a light background. It seems like maybe a loose connection to the screen. But here's where it gets strange.
The lines are there every morning but by the middle of the afternoon the screen seems to be working perfectly with no lines at all. Has anyone got any idea what could be causing this?
The phone is still under warranty so I tried to return it for repair but when I went to the shop it was late afternoon and the phone looked to be working perfectly so they insisted there was no fault. Then the next morning same issue again but by the time I get to the shop the screen is fine again.

Ok. Thought you may have been experiencing some burn in with the charging while off bug. If the issue persists, I'd definitely request and RMA :good:
