Anyone else have this problem? When I go to pick up the phone the person on the other end can not hear me but I can hear them? It does not happen all the time though. It happens when I was stock and continues to happen now that I'm rooted and on another ROM. It started recently when I moved to an area that I actually had LTE coverage. But like most of you I don't use my phone as a phone and rarely receive phone calls. So not a major issue but just an annoyance. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Anyone having the same issue?

Call sprint sometimes their towers mess up. They cant fix it if they dont know about it i used to have 40 Kbps at work and i called to complain; turns out only 1 tower reached my workplace. So they flagged it as a capacity issue and changed the prl so that that tower gives people all it's got instead of expecting 4 other towers to share the load now i get 1.5Mbps at work (all 3g)

Had already tried contacting Sprint. They said there are no issues with any towers around this area. They had me do the obvious, reset my phone, pop out the battery, update the PRL, update the profile, ect. Still happened last night when I got a call from a coworker. He couldn't hear me but I could hear him. I called him right back and no issues then.
Any other thoughts?

I have never had a problem with roaming in my house. Today it has been going in and out randomly for no reason. Is there anything I can do to help it? This is the first time this has ever happened.
I have been having lots of problems in my house as well. I received an airave awhile ago and after like two weeks of it working great I am getting random loss of signal all the time. For now im forcing roam with roam control so I can atleast send txt's and call. I don't know if its a sprint issue or not but it's very. Frustrating.

Wife works in a low reception area and will sometimes lose signal. the only problem is it does not reconnect untill you reset. anyone else have this issue or have a fix?

I know the Nexus had a crappy radio but I never lost connection with it, especially at my home where I lost data/cellular connection twice so far

Unfortunately I cannot say that I have experienced this, while I am at work I have my Wi-Fi on 100%, and whenever I step outside of the office to use the bathroom, or to go to the vending machine (Wi-Fi signal still barely reaches), There have been several times that it would drop the connection because the signal was too weak. However as soon as I got back within proper range It would reconnect immediately with no problems.
well I called sprint last night and the reprovisioned everything. They said this is the first that they have heard of it and are sending the info to sprint and samsung. I will report back later if this fixes her problem. I doubt it will though, because other post have shown that this is just like doing a profile and prl update.
I just tested my WiFi again at work. I am standing next to the WiFi Router, and cannot get a connection unless I reset the phone. I am frustrated. I cannot reset my phone everyday when I come to work just to get a signal.
I just jumped ship from AT&T's iPhone to this, and need to decide where to go next. Verizon Bionic?
I had same problem happen last night. Showed the international no symbol and didn't get a signal until I rebooted.
Ok so if you guys remember me with the weird SD mount issues, I took the phone to sprint & blamed it on gingerbread. They gave me brand new phone free. Anyways, not my internet is very spotty. At times I get good connections but like 75% of the day horrible. My 3g thing even drops completely sometimes. I updated to recent prl & profile & I'm still stock. Any insights people?

If your !00% stock, not rooted. Do a battery pull which is same as soft reset, call sprint and ask them to refresh your connection on the network, ask if any issues in your area. If that doesn't work, take phone to sprint store and have them look at it. Either the phone or the network.

So for the past two days I was not able to send or receive phone calls or text on my phone in the Brooklyn NY area. I thought maybe it was something to do with the rom I flashed or that sprint was just having outages. The funny thing is 3 and 4G worked perfectly fine. So this morning tried to call my wife on the using the cell phone and she couldnt receive calls.
So I called sprint this afternoon and they said that there was a problem with a few towers in Brooklyn where the 3g signal was interfering with the singel cell calling.
Supposedly this is suppose to be fixed by 12/21/2011 20:00 est.
Edit:
The rep wanted to do some basic trouble shooting on the phone via the network, so I am wondering would my phone being rooted and romed cause a problem with said troubleshooting.

I don't think so, either way it is easy to go back to root.
I called in for Jersey and they said there is an outage. My texts usually fail to send but they say it'll be resolved within the week...

I've been having issues in my part of Brooklyn for months now. Same thing, 3G works fine but texts and calls fail.
Chiming in well i live in brooklyn and i nor my wife have not had any call issues in my area at all.
We are both spilling having the issue. No voice or text via sprint or Google voice. I was told the tower issue in new york was suppose to be fixed last night. But we are still having the problem.
It's funny because the phone works everywhere else except in front or around or in our house. If I go five blocks away from my house the phone works fine.

I called sprint and told them i had no service and no data in most of my city.. " what is it, that youre using?" i said "a cell phone..." he said exactly, its used to make calls not to surf the internet
whats funnier yet is that he was about 25 years old..
I'm in a different state and its happening to this area too. In store rep said they are aware of it and they are working on the problem. She said things should be fixed tomorrow friday, at least for my area. Some texts are falling into the black hole and some have come through hours later. Internet works. Texts ride on the phone line and not the data line. Even on wifi texts would fail. Phone calls worked sometimes. Some towers were not affected and some are. The one for my house is intermittent.
If your connected to wifi it only cover data and wont actually place a voice call through wifi right? Just data like picz and internet correct?
I believe so. I think email and internet works on wifi but not calls or text. I thought google voice ran on the internet side but I did see some failures with that too so I don't know,
I don't use a cell phone.
I use a Data Pad or PDA that happens to also have a cellular radio and it can if I want make calls but that is a secondary function.

It's strange there seems to be a 5 block radius in my neighborhood where you can make or get calls or text with sprint since Tuesday. The funny thing is it is with all sprint phones and they say they are not aware of an issue. Their are 4 sprint phones in the 3 family building that live in and would have to be at least a 100 or more in the neighborhood. It's seems to only affect he phone during the day because late at night and early in the morning the phones are fine.
Bay Ridge resident here. For about a year now, data fluctuates anywhere between 100 kbps to 1.5 Mbps, but usually in the 200 kbps area. Been complaining for what feels like forever (issue has been there since last January). I've gotten a million and one excuses, taken it all the way up to the office of Dan Hesse (I **** you not). They credited me one month's bill and that was about it. This was a long time ago. I love the fact that Sprint has unlimited data and is cheap, but that's about it. Service itself sucks.
They're sending me an airave. Is that thing worth it?

Just got my airave.. and i figured out why they have no problem sending it out for free... it turns that 5 mile radius around your house into a sprint tower for anyone to use... using the internet YOU pay for...and my calls are still broken up when i make them...the sprint rep couldn't hear me when i was talking to her on it... lol.oh well i guess i changed my prl to a really good Verizon one. I'm happy now

Ummm if you don't do it then its definitely on you...not sprint. I have one and I get perfect service at home...full bars. Why complain about that? Its free so yes it its absolutely worth it.

You pay for your high speed don't you? Or is that given to you for free? And the average person wouldnt know that u can't do that. To each their own. If u like it then great! I think its a sham. I shouldn't need an extra tower in my apartment to get my cell phone to work.. that is on sprint.. oh and before anything is said about where i live, i am located in the top 5 most populated cities in Michigan. I don't live out in the sticks lol

I keep getting this data roaming guard warning popping up and can't get it to stop. I have turned all of the roam guard settings off except for the GSM settings but I can't turn those off because they are greyed out and locked to be checked. I don't care that my phone goes into roaming, infact its going to happen a lot due to riding the metro every morning where the stations are above ground but the track between each is under ground with AT&T service. my problem with it is a) it turns the phone on every time wasting battery and b)it wont stop.
This also happens in places with low reception for sprint.
So short of turning my phone off or the data service off during times where this could happen, is there a way to get those locked check boxes unchecked or to stop the notifications?
I have exactly the same issue extremely annoying. I figure the fall for the wrong and plan on calling sprint see what they can do about it. I. don't imagine theyll have any ideas and the call will be a waste of time but. if you don't complain they won't fix it.

Glad I am not the only one having this issue. I thought surely there was a button I was missing. I just came from the Evo3D and had this problem when using a Virgin Mobile ported rom. I work in the middle of a corn field so roaming happens more frequently than not
Same here i'm in Irving, TX noticed when I get it, I just hit the on/off switch and error went away.
same issue. live in south jersey. I always hit send anyway when trying to send a text in "international roaming". i figured once my bill is 1,000's of $$ for international roaming can I argue and blame it on them. clearly I have not left the country nor am I close enough to Canada to pick up Rogers/whatever I remember picking up in upstate NY
I hate it too. Will see if I can disable it through smali for my ROM
