You will probably get a refurb Evo. I just got a replacement through asurion 3 weeks ago. The Evo is EOL, but I still think it is too soon for them to be completely out.
my neighbor just got another refurb evo og last week on his replacement...so i guess nothing different just yet....
you can go through the process and ask. They will tell you what they will send you. If they do not have any evos then you will know and can choose to decline the repairs and the new phone.

If you take your phone to a sprint store with repair service they fix cracked screens for $35 without insurance. FYI Happened to me.

Hey, I work for sprint as a service manager. If you have a cracked screen you can get just the screen replaced for free if you have the insurance, if you don't then just pay the 35$ to get it fixed. When they replace your phone you get a referb. Most times those still have issues, if you live up around my area i'll even do it for ya. (i need the tickets lol)
worst case scenerio is you pay the 35 dollars.
They don't care if you are rooted vs unrooted, they make their money or you use your insurance.
I was fully rooted on Fresh's rom and dropped my phone in a parking lot, 35 dollars later it was fixed.
Funny enough -- I got it fully replaced a week later for a lingering issue with my 4G keys. I'm incredibly impressed with sprint's service -- I didn't ask for any special treatment (unrooted and returned to stock)
The refurb I got in return has been flawless. I was a convert from Apple after 4 years. Sprint IMO has really stepped up the game in terms of customer satisfaction and value.

Is sprint doing exchanges for the EVO since it's on the EOL list?
Just because or do you have an issue with your device?
Sprint does not just give exchanges once the device becomes EOL.
Now if you have an issue with the device and have insurance they will replace with either the same device (if in stock) or one of similar likeness.
Sprint and Asurion do have different stocks, so if sprint has to replace the phone you may get something different than if asurion replaces it.

Yeah,
if you have total protection and there is an issue you will get their equvil, but if you just want to trade in no they wont. If you want to find out call them, i know when my evo had issues they talked about trading me to a new phone, but they offered the evo shift and im sorry im not giving my evo up for that....
Dont be shy hit that thanks button
As of the 19th EVOs, Shifts, 3Ds and Epics are a like-for-like exchange only. From what I can recall.

I tried to replace my phone online and they showed that they were going to replace with an OG. Was not willing to pay 100 for a replacement OG, so I cancelled. Charging port is broken, but I can make it work enough to hold out a while.

My friend works for sprint. I was told they have enough refurbished EVO so they are not going to replace it with any other phone specially with LTE... sorry...
Ok thanks brothers
I wanna ask if anyone knows what phone is Asurion giving if you don't want your phone because the problems the phone is giving you are not ending.
I had this problem with the Evo 3D they send me 3 replacements with diferent issues, a the end I told them that I don't want this phone, if it is possible to have a other phone and they gave me the Epic Touch 4G(Galaxy SII ).
I want to know what phone Asurion gives to the Original EVO if they are out of stock or you simple need another.
Last i heard they have plenty of refurbished og evo to go around.

Hey guys was wondering if anyone has returned a rooted EVO with custom Rom to sprint for insurance claim, my wife's EVO charging port broke and phone is no longer charging, we have insurance through sprint but the phone is rooted and can't return to stock because can't charge it to power it up, will the sprint tech find a way to power it up and not want to file a claim because its rooted and running a custom Rom or should I be ok taking it in like that
It shouldn't be a problem. Your issue is with your charging port being broken, which is a hardware problem. If the problem was related to rooting your phone, things might be different. My understanding is that Sprint generally doesn't care whether or not the phone is rooted, as long as the problem isn't directly related to your phone being rooted.

Thanks for the response, I took it in to sprint and they told Me they couldn't do **** about it even though I have insurance, they said I have to call file a claim and pay $100 deductible and I would get the exact same phone in mail

If you have TEP (Total Equipment Protection) they should fix it. I think you still have to pay like $35, but it beats the $100 deductible through Asurion, and you get your phone back, not a replacement. Take it to an authorized Sprint repair center and see about getting it fixed.

I did take it to a repair center and the technician opened it up and said it couldn't be repaired, do they send you back the same phone I thought the EVO 4G was discontinued, I would of preferred to get it fixed than pay deductible but they said no
Asurion will send you a replacement EVO, unless they tell you otherwise.

With how old the EVOs are now, the charging port may just be filled with pocket lint/dust, not allowing the charger to make a complete connection with the port. Trying cleaning it out with a toothpick and see if that helps at all since they aren't helping you at all at the moment.
Interesting, if this it's the case, my next phone is going to be purchased at best buy, they ask no questions.

My power button quite working 7-8 months ago so I took it to a local service center. It was obviously rooted and the tech there flashed it back to stock rom (left root intact) and ordered me a replacement. He never said a word about it and the cust. service woman that I talked to asked me what ROM it was so they obviously knew. I'm not sure if she added any notes to my account or not but they were very nice and helpful.
Even with TEP, Sprint won't fix a broken charger port because it's defined as physical damage so you have to send it to asurion. That's what they told me when mine broke and the replacement came shipped with the same issue. And Sprint changed their policy a while back, they will accept rooted phones but when they return it to you it will be stock with the latest software.
