no it doesn't... I think it's a way for customer no to be sold an old phone for a new one, like car km counters...
Reset Time
What I found in O2 Xda IIs is you just adjust the time backward while make a call and end the call time will be reduce howerver there is almost impossible to get it back to 0.

Not possible, unless you re-program the chip.
And why do you need to do that? Pardon my frankness but there is no reason for someone to do that unless one tries to decieve a potential buyer.

start/settings/system/device information/call duration. bingo! search application on site helps as well from time to time
True it shouldn't be used to decieve people but IMHO you should be able to decieve companies when you bought it and you don't want it anymore you can just reset it to 0 and say you haven't used it
i think it's possible.. but you'd have to reset a chip.. I think.. But it has to be possible because it can be updated, so it should also be 'downdated'

As a matter of principle, just because you don't 'deal' directly with the majority of employees and stockholders, doesn't justify deceiving anyone tied to a company. They're people too..
Anyway, guns don't kill people. People kill people. So, if you leave it up to people's discretion to mess with the call duration timer, it will be used to deceive all kinds of other people.

The life time is not such a big deal, people don't care how much you talked on it. A cellphone's life is not based on talk time. I would be more concerned about the battery than how much you talked on it.
But to be so eager to reset the life to save 20 E?
If you don't know what mtty is, I don't think you should be messing with it.

its not about a money..well, now im thinking about that many of us know how to reset..if you want MY reason why to reset...in my country to buty an original phone, which is not usedbefore is almost impossible. Because there are dillers who buy old phones reset lifetimer and sell it for big money...now, the poor student when need money or just want to try another phone have to go to this diller, who asks how old is the phone. When i say the iftimer is on 5min,he wont talking about the dealing. If the lifetimer is maybe will pay me 200E, whenever i bought the phone yesterday or no...
if the lifetimer is 4-5min, he wont give me money...but if i do some change, to give him my phone and cash, after he resets the lifetimer, and sells it like a new.
AND HE DO THIS NOT 1 OR 2 TIMES. So why the poor student s*ck
Personnaly, more a phone is "used" better it is, otherwise why use it !
A phone who have "never be used" ... hum ... shady ...

Anybody have any ways to make my Evo faulty???? I'm trying to have it replaced and need a good way to have it replaced under the manufacture warranty. I know this sounds wrong but I am in a timeframe where I would be able to replace it with the S2, seeing that Sprint has the release set to late July early August. If this is "bad" question to ask I will drop the post if I start getting negative response..
Their only going to replace it with an EVO, you'll still have to buy the sg2. So sell the EVO and use that money to buy sg2
brought to you by the little voices in my head
If your within the 30 days, all you have to do is pay the $35 exchange fee, otherwise you have to buy one outright.

Same reason modding your car voids your dealer warranty, but is still legal. They don't want to fix your fk ups, but you can fix them yourself.
Dude just brick it. And I mean fully brick it where it won't turn on, charge, recognize usb or anything. This way the techs have no way of knowing It's rooted and the phone looks like its just faulty. I'm not telling you how to brick it though, you have to search the forums for that. Happy hunting

As to hacking your phone...I can hack my phone all I want as I own the hardware and a license for the software. The only thing that is illegal is changing the ESN on your phone.
abusedcloth said:

A warranty is not law. A warranty is an agreement between two parties (you and Sprint or HTC) that says if there is a manufacturing defect in the phone, they will fix it or replace it within a specified timeframe, provided you follow some conditions set out in the warranty.
Just like cars...did you know if you put an aftermarket part on your vehicle and the vehicle malfunctions, the manufacturer can void your warranty since it isn't one of their parts, regardless if it caused the malfunction? That doesn't make it illegal to do it, it just means if your vehicle breaks, you're on your own.
Same with the phone.
I think we've covered the legalities of hacking your phone. As long as you aren't doing anything to obtain a service free that otherwise would be paid for you can do whatever you want. *cough* wireless tether *cough* (which is legal to have but not use lol)
As far as trashing it..... throw it in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Call in and say it was fried when you woke up.
Well, apparently while I was at work today some kids decided to break into my pool and were chased off by the lady who comes to clean once a week. I got home and under one of my law chairs are two phones, ones an iPhone 3gs and I couldn't care less but the other is an hd7s, this was the one US released wp7 device that will take a sim card that I didn't have and honestly what are they going to do? I trespassed and was drinking in your pool, can I have my phone back? I'm interested but for now, ill test it out... Hopefully the battery life isn't as horrid as the normal hd7
They can blacklist those phones (using IMEI numbers) and make them useless as phones if that's what are asking.
Don't be as bad as they were and rise above it... call and tell them they can have their phones back if they clean your pool the rest of the month

I don't know how it works in the US but here in the UK if you find lost property and report it to the police and the owner doesn't collect it after a certain period of time it becomes yours.
So, I'd drop it off - explain the situation. Do you think any kid is going to want to admit to trespassing?

Call them and sell their phones back to them. Give them a good deal though haha.
Give it to me! LOL XD.
You could see if they have someone saved as "Mom" or "Dad" on their phones (in case it isn't locked or not pin-protected) and call them and tell them about what they did.
Otherwise you could just wait and pretend you hadn't found the phones. They probably aren't gonna sue you and well if they call police you could pretend you had just found the phone earlier that day. It's not your responsibility to search your ground for stuff other people might have lost their while breaking in.
Well, I have questions for you.
1. Are these kids your neighbor?
2. Are they boys or girls?
3. Do you know these kids?
4. Do you know their parents?

The circumstances don't really give you the right to destroy them or anything, that'd be no different than what they did. I'd go with the call the parents option if its possible, otherwise charge them a fee to not get the police involved.

It's not stealing if they were left on your property. Now it's still not moral to just keep them IMO. I'd say, do your best to try to return the phones. If the kids come back looking for them, return them or ask for the parents to come get the phones. I highly doubt the kids will tell their parents the truth about how they lost their phones, btw. If you can't return the phones in a reasonable amount of effort, than at least you tried to do the right thing.

Not trying to give it back, it is stealing, IMO. Even if you dont move a finger to try it, someone should call, just answer and say that the owner lost the phone. That isn't hard.
But, yes, I agree with the one that said that he should make them clean the pool for one mounth hahahahah
You can't live by that mindset. I mean, this isn't a life forum, so I don't want to get into this, but to say it is stealing to keep something that is on YOUR property, which appeared there without you personally inviting any guests over is ridiculous. It would be different if he invited friends over, and somebody left it... But that wasn't the case, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I wouldn't make an effort to return it, they didn't make an effort to respect his property.

well I think its the developer's choice to put the price and MP cannot challenge it. If you think its just too expensive, just don't buy it. as simple as that.
And it has got a review too in chinese which says "Garbage" LOL
I have a feeling its a mistake and they will fix it once they notice it. Or maybe he is to desperate
Lol, did u guys read the description? Unlimited version, the paid version has smiley faces. I think it's totally a joke
What sort of developer in his right mind would charge for a non-Xbox game - £218.99?
It's not even £2.99 !!
When Windows Phone first came out there was an app call "Im rich" for $999.99
Same with the iphone. It did nothing and a few people actually bought it. Then they complained that they bought it.

I feel so too! Paying that much money even on internet makes me a little skeptical let alone on a phone's marketplace!
Sad thing is unlike Android (which is full of malwares) we can't report such apps or atleast flag them. It might help if users could flag such apps for re-review by the marketplace team, might keep the place clearner.
Samsung UK have advised that they will be pushing out an update on 31st October limiting charge to 60%. Lets see if Package Disabler Pro works !

They will have to make the phone increasingly annoying in order for people to discontinue using it.
60% doesn't guarantee the phone won't blow.

I'm still using mine. and aslong as you don't go on wi-fi they cant automatically push an update as it requires you to use mobile data? if that causes a billing charge, samsung can get into trouble
Chippy_boy said:
This latest 60% news is just the latest in a series of ham fisted balls ups. Why is this being done in the UK, and not in other markets? If they actually wanted to put together a program to try to get people to NEVER buy from Samsung ever again, I don't think they could have done better than this.

Couldn't agree more with your post. The killer for me was at the start of the first recall when I got a call from Samsung telling me to return my phone to the service provider. The caller was insistent that's what I had to do even though I explained concisely that it was bought from Samsung! It went rapidly downhill from there on. Communication atrocious.
With regard to the 60%, if it's so crucial to prevent the bombs going off why wait a week to push it out?
I sympathise with Samsung for the problem but the handling of it would pour shame on a one man outfit.

What might those issues be? As a Chartered Engineer I'd be interested to know.
I've been a member of this forum from day one (my profile doesn't show that because I re-registeted a few years ago).
The forum was set up so that like minded 'PDA' owners could learn about and improve their devices. It wasn't and isn't a place where self opinionated members could dictate what others should or could do or indeed to insult or pass judgement on other members.
It would be good if posts could continue to provide information, constructive advice and development for our devices.

I still thinking if I want to return the phone. I bought a spare S7 edge to standby for trips but its no issue for people who don't travel often. I also believe there are still many people keeping the phone at their own risk. If nothing happen, I think note7 can last till note8 is out.
Have any expert handphone repair people actually open note7 and test if any other battery from other phone in the market can fit and run note7 smoothly?

Free case aint enough. Tell them 20% off, as device looks like used/refurbished. If they don't agree, return it and order again.
Device that is new, should look as new, not used.
Those pics are terrible but I don't need them, have a similar problem. My antenna lines aren't perfect, there are some micro gouges and what looks like wear. Same on my OnePlus 5 that I returned. Mine is minor and I'll live with it but yours might be worse, can't see.

You are acting ridiculous over something that has no effect whatsoever on the performance of the phone, will not be seen by anyone with a case on and will be indistinguishable from actual wear and tear after a few days of ownership. It's $500-600 phone not a million dollar piece of artwork.
I too have OCD about certain things but this is just absurd.
Edit: Now if there was a real defect like the screen was damaged, the camera lens cover was scratched or something along those lines I would totally understand where you are coming from. But for something as trivial as a smudge I think you are just making a mountain out of a molehill and missing out on time you could be enjoying an awesome performing device. If you look hard enough, you'll always be able to find something wrong with everything. Im sure OnePlus wont keep sending you replacement after replacement so you'll either have to live with the smudges you will find on every device or they will refund your money, in which case you just gave them a nice interest free loan for over a month.
I'm with the OP, the marks may be very small but he paid for a new device. Mine was unmarked, theirs should be too. It's weird.
