Cannot get Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) to work - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hi.
I've just had my first LineageOS (19.1) installed on a Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F). Most stuff working, but I would like to use FDN as well. While this works on my original android device, I cannot get it to work here.
Results are somewhat random, but unfortunatly in all directions. Sometimes I cannot dial when FDN is active while the number listed. Sometimes it works when I enter the number over the dialing pad but not when selecting the exactly same number from the contact. Sometimes I can dial when FDN is active whiel the number is _not_ listed. Sometimes I need to reboot and then results are different. Sometimes I cannot inactive FDN or alter the number list until I have again rebootet. Overall, I get the impression this is not really working with LineageOS. Can someone confirm this is indeed a OS issue or anyone got another idea why this is so randomly inaccurate behaviour on that feature?
Thanks /V

Problems with GSM codes and calling from command line

Hi,
I use the GSM codes alot, for exemple #21# to cancel call forwarding, etc. I find it faster than drilling down menus. When I call directly or thru the contacts manager (I made contacts for the codes), everything goes fine. If however I map the contact to the quick dial slot on the home menu OR in a quick dial slot on a cube, the phone gives me an error message. Anyone has a solution?
Also, I recently installed a profile manager with the ability to launch programs with command line parameter when certain conditions are met (I would like the phone to initiate call forwarding when the AC is plugged in), anyone know how I can initiate a call to a specific number (gsm code in my case) from the command line?
Thanks for your help

Issues with 6.5 ROM

Hi,
since I upgraded my TP2 ROM with the WinMo6.5 from HTC I encountered two issues which really make me regret this from time to time:
On incoming calls very often the caller name is not displayed even if the phone number is known in my address book. Also in call history i just see numbers, not names. This worked perfectly in 6.0.
When I receive a call, i press "take call" but the phone simply wont take it. Instead it silences the ringtone but there is no chance I take the call.
I searched the forum but couldn't find anything that would help. There was some registry entry about setting the size of phone numbers which should fix problem one, but the issue here is, that German phone numbers don't have any fixed size, so the suggested fix is not working. Also I'd wonder why I have to set something up when just the same thing worked perfectly in 6.0. As for the more annoying "can't take call" thingy, i am absolutely clueless. Has anyone of you encountered these issues before and if so, were you able to fix them?
I can't find the link readily but I thought I remember reading that adding (or removing) the "+" in front of phone numbers in your contacts helped the first issue.

[Q] Cannot Dial +1 Numbers

When I use the Google Voice Search to say "Call xxxx" (xxxx = any search term/non-contact) the number that shows after the search has a +1 in front of it. When it tries to dial it would ring, then a Verizon message would say the number cannot be dialed. I was hoping flashing CM7 would take care of this, but now it just fails to dial without the Verizon message. It fails immediately after attempting to dial.
I've seen a few topics across the web about this, most of them have to do with the phone adding a country code in place of the number and failing. However, I can't find a working solution.
CM7 doesn't appear to have call settings that would help. Has anyone experienced this issue? Can you dial a number that begins with a +1 from inside the US? I've heard (don't want to test) that dialing other countries with the plus sign works. I've also read that it's a known issue with HTC, and they may be working on a fix.
It's not a major problem, but that's what I typically use voice search for is searching for an address or number quickly. It's kind of a pain to memorize the number and dial that way.
For what it's worth, the issue is gone after flashing MIUI. It may be that I wiped the dalvik cache before flashing this one.

Outgoing calls failing (+) plus sign added to incoming numbers in call log

Hello All,
I am having an issue returning calls from my call log. For some reason a (+) sign is being added to all incoming calls. This is causing outgoing calls to fail with the error "Your international call cannot be completed as dialed". I am running the latest Task650 4.2.1 Custom JB ROM. I have tried a clean re-flash with the same issue (Clean, no apps or system data restored). Everything else seems to work fine.
I am located in the US and all these numbers are local and in my same area code. I am not sure if this is an issue with the carrier (att) or a setting in the new ROM. I have searched and poked around but i cant seem to figure out why all incoming calls are being tagged with the (+) sign in front of the number. If i dial the same person from my contact list it works fine as the number in the contact list does not have the (+) sign in front of the number.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
are u using google voice to make phone calls? is the problem with every number or only facebook users? i havent tried that rom, so not sure if this setting is there, go to Phone Dialer screen > options > Smart Dialing, and remove the +1 from the Country code, Set your OWN country code there with a + in front of it.

u are a US user on att network, correct? what is ur baseband version? its under setting- about phone
I can confirm that I too am experiencing this issue as well, same ROM. I came from CM10.1 nightly, so my guess is this is a ROM problem, not something else.
Since the update on 1/1, I have not been having that issue. Seems it was fixed in that release.
Thats been reported several times on task 4.2.1 thread. Probably he's working on a fix or maybe not. Who knows.
Try edit number before calling and erase the +. Hope that helps. :good:
Having the same problem but only seeing this on certain ROMS. Can't believe no one knows a fix. I've reached for awhile and can't find anything.
same problem
I am experiencing this problem as well on my SynergyROM AT&T S3.
same problem here
Hi, I'm having the same problem. Incoming calls from unknown numbers have a "+" added in front of them, when I try to return the calls, my carrier thinks it's an international call. If the contact is known, however, i don't have this problem, it simply displays the contact and I can return the call. Carrier: AT&T, ROM: DMod v4 Custom JB. There is no option in my setup for "international dialing" or parsing of the incoming phone number. Any help???
I'm having this issue on a ported sprint ROM. Any known fixes?
I'm curious - does this only happen with European ROMS being used on American carriers?
I've tried all the published fixes, such as disconnecting the sync'd contacts accounts, etc. Also trying an app called "Prefixer", but so far, haven't had any luck removing the added "+" sign.
This gives me a sad.

Prefixer worked great for me. I set it to take any call in my log that starts with a + and drop the + when outgoing.
Thank you very much! that was a very annoying problem. Prefixer is working great for me.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
After I set it up correctly, Prefixer is doing the job for me, too. User error....
Same problem
So I did a google search and came across this thread,
technically I shouldn't be posting it here but being that I had the same issue I figured I'll go ahead and share with the community,
I have a Verizon Galaxy s4 rooted running a custom ROM 4.2.2 "hyperdrive" I recently switched to net10 cellular service using the AT&T SIM card Enclosed in the kit.
ever since the service has been connected I've noticed the + symbol on my incoming calls and was not able to call from my recent calls menu like everyone else.
I played around with the assisted dialing or "international calling" options to no avail.
and someone in this thread mentioned an app called prefixer which upon correct set up worked flawlessly Thanks
Preixer works
Once I got it set up right, Prefixer fixed the problem for me.

I'm on Straight Talk using their AT&T SIM card and have the same problem. I've tried to get Prefixer to work but I am not well versed in these matters. What exactly should be done (entered, typed, etc.) to get this to work.
Thanks
here's what worked for me

Here's the Prefixer settings that worked for me:
Open Prefixer
Hit the check mark to turn Prefixer "on" - to make it active
Add a rule - choose "Manual Add"
Choose for "Outgoing Calls"
Rule Enabled: Check
Title: "Take Out the plus sign"
When the number matches: .* (that means every call)
During Days: Mon-Sun
From Time: 00:00
To Time: 23:59 (yours may be a bit different; I have my phone set for 24 hour time)
Actions: Remove Characters: \+
That's all. Make sure that the rule is enabled, and that Prefixer is enabled. This will remove the + sign from any phone number that has one, and my calls go through without any problem. Note that you'll have to disable Prefixer if you ever need to enter a configuration code via the keypad if it has a plus sign in it

I was definitely over-complicating my previous attempts, Thanks for clarifying the process.

The input for When the number matches: .* didn't work for me. After trying different things, this is the input that finally did the trick:
.* was changed to \+[0-9]+
prefixer worked great for me too

[Q] NuSenseSIX Dialing Long Numbers / Access Codes Issue

I have loaded a few of Santod's awesome ROMs on my Verizon HTC One M7. Recently I have had a problem when I installed NuSenseSIX RC4.4 and RC4.6, did full wipe, used his modded TWRP.
For some reason, when I dial from Contacts, it dials the tones REALLY fast. Even though it is so fast, it works fine for the phone number portion and dialing regular phone numbers. Some of my phone numbers require an Access Code however.
For example:
1-800-555-5555,,123456789#
The phone number part dials OK. The two commas pauses and the phone service's automated voice says to enter my access code. But when my phone starts entering the access code, it is still so fast that the service repeats back but misses some of the numbers.
When the access code tones are entered, the service drops the last few digits (because it is so fast).
Any tips? I will update to NuSenseSIX RC 5.0 soon.
Thanks, any help is appreciated.
