General Microphone stopped working... - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hey guys,
More of a conversation starter than anything. I bought my first P6P on black Friday. Intermittently my mic on phone calls wouldn't work, then completely stopped working unless I used speaker phone. Troubleshooter with Google nothing worked, took it back and exchanged it last night. The new unit worked last night and this morning, this afternoon however BOTH mics died and I literally had to take calls on my watch (luckily I wore it today). Again I troubleshot with Google and took it back again and now I'm on my 3rd P6P. My fingers are crossed because I really like the phone, but 3rd is the charm and if this one doesn't work I will have to jump ship.

Been working since the day I got it on October 27th.

Its a SOFTWARE bug, known. Apparently fixed by the december update.

Thats what I told the agents i dealt with at Google, but they seemed to have no idea. I personally think it actually had to do with pairing my Galaxy watch with the phone. But it is really a shot in the dark

Then unpair it and see if that fixes it?

I had to send mine in for repair. They sent it back fixed before the December update. Not sure what they did. I couldn't use speaker phone.

Mines broken already

A white line appeared down the middle of the screen last night. Its going back...
Bummer, I hate it when a new toy gets taken away so quickly like that...
Still, sadly there will always be problems with any hardware to a certain extent
and its worthy of mention that this is the only report I have heard so far so hopefully it is an isolated event
Gutted for you mate!
Hope they will pay... Most of the time when it's about the screen, you have to pay yourself:S
sorry to hear that really! hopefully you took out insurance but it will be covered by manufacturer warranty i am sure. hopefully it will just need a new ribbon and not a new screen. by what you described it may only be the ribbon. no issues with mine yet touch wood!

My unit screen is so unresponsive, Only got it today tried a few tweaks and factory reset makes no difference. Crashing and hanging for long periods also. No 3rd party software installed, No sync done. My unit is going back today just packaged it up.
The phone is so slick though best HTC handset to date.

Hard reset makes no difference with this unit. Back to my Nokia E75 for a few days till I get a replacement or I may just grab a different phone. Just tested a friends Touch Pro 2 and his is fine so it is the unit. It is a very nice phone fastest wm phone out. I just wish they would sort the Touch Flow out as it is still laggy in spots. Sure next firmware will sort it out.
Mine did similar right after the intial sync. I did a battey pull and its been working good ever since. My "s" key doesnt register unless pressed hard. Also noticed no weather in calender and when using the keyboard to type it doesnt auto capitalize but it does with the virtual keyboard

Bummer, hopefully the manufacturer warranty will fix or replace it ASAP!
I'm sure they will... unless it's visible, physical damage
Hey does anyone know or tried hdtweak? Maybe it will work on our TP2

Speaker(ear) buzzing all of a sudden?

I got my 5x about a few weeks ago, and it's been perfect so far - until a couple of days ago. The earpiece speaker buzzes something awful when I'm talking to people. Any sound coming from that speaker makes this buzzing noise - almost like a blown speaker would. Oddly, I can't hear the buzz if I hold the phone up to my left ear.
I Googled around and haven't found anything about this which is odd because it's hard to believe it's just me. So, I'm checking in here to find out if anyone else has experienced this or heard of this problem.
Thanks!
I had this issue with my first 5X, a few weeks after launch. RMA'd it and haven't had the issue since.

If you bought it from Google, they send out advance replacements before you send back the defective one, so you never need to go without a phone.

nice!!!!! Score!!!!!!
And no sooner than 1 week did my new, replacement 5x do the same thing. What a huge disappointment this phone has been. So, now I have to get a 3rd phone, and do the RMA process. I explained to the guy on the phone that I don't have any confidence in this phone now, and that I don't want to be stuck down the road with a phone that has this problem. He said the warranty runs one year from the ORIGINAL phone purchase. That doesn't help me very much unless the 3rd time really IS the charm, and this phone will not have this problem. I'm really hoping, and my fingers are crossed. I asked to just be refunded so I could get an entirely different phone, but he told me no.
I'll be back to update this.

This is not a software issue, it's a hardware defect. Keep sending it back until you get a good one. I had to RMA four of these things for hardware defects. QC of Nexus devices has always sucked, and until this changes, I fully expect to go through this with every purchase.
I had this issue and this going to sound weird but put your mouth on the speaker and blow in and suck out. It's weird but it worked for me. Of course RMA is the best choice

It's just crazy to me. I ditched my ATT Galaxy S4 (for multiple reasons), and I promised myself I would get an actual Google phone next time around. So, I did, and I always thought LG made wonderful electronics, but it seems not to be the case. Disappointed, but hopefully the 3rd time is the charm.
I bought one and I changed it myself. Spare part was different, made in plastic instead of metal. No issues till now

Oh, you bought a new speaker. I was confused. Well, my third phone is doing the same thing, and oddly, blowing and then sucking from the speaker area fixes it temporarily.
I requested a refund from Google. I'm not interested in paying $350 for a phone that I have to blow into the speaker to make it perform properly - that just sounds silly.

Sensors not working

So, I bought the Huawei watch in November 2015 and everything was working fine till Thursday last week. Thursday is when I bought the new HTC 10, so I had to factory reset the Huawei Watch in order for it to sync with the HTC 10. After doing that and syncing with the HTC 10, I have noticed that none of the sensors on the watch work anymore. By sensors I mean pedometer, heart rate sensor, gestures etc.
I have done a factory reset several times and also tried pairing and syncing the watch with other android phones, still the same result.
Can someone help me please, as this looks like a software problem as the watch has not been damaged or anything and it was working absolutely fine before I did the factory reset.

Yep, it still did not work, I just sent it back to Amazon for a refund.
Must be a software glitch. Mine started acting up a couple of days ago. At first I noticed the screen would go to sleep although I had "Always on" on.
Today I noticed that neither the pedometer nor the HRM are working...
Same here.. for few days already hrm pedo and gyro? Not working. Never installed an update tho.

Has to be a software glitch if many people are facing similar issues, all the hardware sensors cannot just go faulty all of a sudden.

Nope, never. Always remove it before showering. It's supposed to be waterproof to 10m as well.
I think it has something to do with the latest android wear update, since all the issues started around then (for me it was May 19th). It cannot be a coincidence that everyone's watches started going wrong around that date.
just restart your watch then try again.
I have already restarted/factory reset the watch many times to date and still no luck.
Me too sir how i can do for make it work again
Dear all concerns ,
Now , my watch can touch and i just install to 6.0.1 version but i can't using Heart rate sensor and another sensors anymore How i should to do ?
Thank you so much for kind support

Last I have seen that Huawei has made a deal with Samsung to use Tizen. They are not happy with Google not letting them customize Android Wear.

It is a known issue they'll rma it for this reason. On a side note I had that issue for about 12-24 hours and went away on it's own, no restart or factory reset was required for me. Really wish I knew what or why the cause but maybe it will go away, like mine did. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks I hope so too. Really liking the phone but for this money...
agreed I almost gave up, my first 2 were too blue and the 3rd fine except started that flash, but ultimately went away. Loving this phone!

Mine started today but it has been getting better as the day goes on. I'm curious if its an issue with charging. Prior to a few days ago I had been only using the chargers with that I've received specifically for the phone, but this week--since I'm traveling for the holidays--I've only been using my pixelbook charger, so maybe something isn't properly shielded and the flash is caused by a built up charge? Reason I think that is that it has been less and less noticeable as the day goes on..

Got my replacement a week ago, 0 flashes so far (finger crossed). I tend now to think it's a hardware issue. Also blue tint is slightly better on new device...
I just got my Pixel 2 XL delivered to me yesterday. Set it all up, didn't get the flashing screen issue at first but now it's doing it. Tried to chat with Pixel support from my phone, they don't have a resolution for it yet.... Hopefully it's a software issue?
Mine started doing this about 3-4 days ago. I noticed that it starts to do it when night mode is on. If I go the RMA route, this will be my 3rd replacement and tbh I'm not looking forward to doing this.
Mine did it once with always on display on, I don't usually use that so I turned it off and it hasn't happened since.
I just received a replacement device yesterday due to a faulty speaker. No issues with the last device, but this device is now exhibiting the screen flash when locking.

Exact thing with me. I received a brand new device that I got because my previous one had a bad speaker (speaker phone distorted sound). This new one has the screen flashing problem. My original did not. Poor QC ... especially for $850.
Mine has been doing it for a couple of days, and it kept getting worse. On chat with Google Support now. Sounds like it's going to be RMA'd.

Static noise during a call.

Has anyone noticed strange static, buzzing noises coming out of the top speaker during the phone call?
It's not happening all the time but I can hear it on most calls. Sounds like internal antennas or something like that.
3XL UK, tried both EE and Three.
Some users reported that turning off HD calling may help but this is not available to do here in UK.
Already with Google customer service, waiting for their reply.
I wonder how many units may be affected.
Please post if you have this issue or not

I too have this issue.
But this issue is more pronounced when I am on VoLTE calls.
Contacted Google Support and yet to receive a response from them.
I have been offered RMA from Google but I want to hold on for now to see if an update will fix it. I reckon most phones have it but not everyone notice it or is bothered.
RMA'd for this issue and replacement still had it but was much quieter than original phone. Keeping replacement. It's clearly a shielding problem. Thanks for playing pixel lottery.

Thanks for feedback.
From your experience, does it happens on every call you make?
For me I can only hear it on some calls.
Someone on Reddit posted that:
Update from OP : Today I met the Google technician at a public cafe - this is the guy assigned by Google support to pick my mobile for servicing. He calmly asked me to unlock the phone and hand it to him, I did, and then he popped out the sim. He switched to another sim, (he was carrying one) and toggled airplane mode and back.
He placed a call and handed the phone over to me. I was like, meh, I've already tried this. But surprisingly, I got no static, no noise. I thought it was a temporary thing, so I ordered coffee and we continued talking about the device while I kept trying to call friends and test the device. No issues again!
He then explained the issue to me - this device earpiece isn't the problem, the baseband/kernel on this device causes it to have lesser signal strength. As soon as I switched to a network with proper VOLTE, the issue disappeared. This is because not all network towers are compatible with this version of the modem's software. Either the networks need signal strength upgrades, or baseband kernels need fixing. Either way, Google is already working with service providers to fix such issues.
He then asked me to not submit the device for repair/factory inspection. I was so confused by not being able to reproduce the issue then, so I went along with his suggestion.
So now, I have a perfectly working device that suffers in poor signal conditions... What happened with your device?
Every call but some worse than others. Sounds like PSU or GPU coil whine.
Someone should ask that Google employee why it doesn't happen on my old S5 (which had over a dozen modems), my wife's 6S, and the Z3 in my car? Why is there static on wifi calls or bluetooth calls?
If it's bothering you, RMA now while replacements are still new phones.
Same problem. Already have the RMA in route.
Have you tried calls via WhatsApp, doing same?

I had same problem on my Pixel 2.
Just to update everyone. I have decided to return my phone and reorder with black Friday offering £40 off.
New phone has perfectly clear earpiece, no more static noises.
If it bothers you keep exchanging until you get a good one !
I have the same problem with buzzing in the earpiece during call. Additionally many people say that they can not hear me correctly, my voice is skipping. I hope that they will fix it in the next update as it seems to be modem related. Some calls are normal and some have these problems. Unfortunately I can not RMA as Google is not officially selling pixels in Poland.
