I just picked up the black silicone gel skin from the local Sprint store. They have about 4 different cases in stock, aside from this one they have the body glove case, a leather case, and a weird 2-piece plastic snap case 2-pack. Here are my impressions:
1. The fitment is perfect and all cutouts line up perfectly
2. The camera lens is recessed about 1mm from the edge
3. The texture is smooth as opposed to the leathery texture of Sprint Hero silicone skin (and it's thinner than the Hero skin)
4. The edges around the screen recess the screen a little over 1mm so the entire face is protected from a fall onto a flat surface
5. The edges around the screen overlap the screen seams by about .5mm
6. Overall the phone still feels thin and sleek in my opinion
7. As with any silicone skin, it's tough to get in/out of tight pockets

Can you post some pics?
i picked up this skin tonight as well. i wish it was more grippy on the back as its so smooth it seems like it will be slippery. well, i have the skin but no evo until the evening tomorrow

I was installing one on a customer's evo today and that was my main concern. Holding it I felt like I was going to drop it. It just felt too slippery. Personally I prefer our Body Glove case for the Evo. It had an over all better texture and I really like the appearance. Once I can finally take my evo home I will definitely be purchasing that case.
I don't think it's too slippery, but the case is too loose imho. It doesn't fit very snug on the phone. Hopefully with some sunlight/use it will shrink.
No pictures. Come on, this is the 21st century. Lets get some visuals.

I have mine on now and you're right, the back is kind of smooth. I don't know what wizardry they used, but the edges are grippy as hell. I'm happy with that since I don't think I'll ever pick this phone up by only grabbing the back of case and the display on the phone.
Here are two pics of this case. I used my webcam, so I apologize for it looking a bit blue, the bad angle, and the graininess.
The Silicone case from Sprint is fantastic. Thought the 24 bucks one seemed kinda nice.

Wait I think we are misunderstanding here. The Black Silicone Case that the guy over there put the picture is 14.99. But there is another one with swirly pattern. That one is 24.99. Is that the one you got?

My experience w/silicon cases in the past (Belkin ones on an iPod touch) has been the opposite, they either stay exactly the same or they loosen up and get floppier... Those that are multi-color tend to lose some of the dye over time too, around the edges. They do look cooler when they're new tho...
I think I'll get the black one from Sprint and I'll probably order that Amzer Argyle case when it's finally shipping... It's a different kinda rubber, seems stiffer than the silicon stuff but still flexible enough that you just slip the phone into it by stretching it (unlike any of the plastic cases), seems smoother too so it might be popular w/those that dislike the effect of the silicon skins on pockets. From what I've read on the reviews for the same type of case made for other phone models, it's actually a bit translucent and the argyle pattern doesn't stand out as much as it does in the photo. There's a Blackberry Amazon review that describes the material it's made of pretty well.
That Body Glove case might be grippy or rubbery on the back but it's still a plastic frame 2-piece case btw, there's one or two other threads on it. Probably slightly bulkier than the silicon ones.
I got the black one and the raspberry (hot pink) one for my wife. I did notice the case kind of put a small shadow on the front camera picture. I nipped off about 1/8" from it and it works fine now. Hope it doesn't cause it to come out easier now.
I found it interesting that it was HTC branded on the back.

Thanks for the info
Bought some 3M Di-Noc vinyl last week and it got here today, just finished up installing some on the battery door and I figured I would share the results.
This film really is awesome, much cooler than the traditional skins that you get, it has an actual texture to it and the carbon catches the light. Looks absolutely awesome in person!
I'm not one for hyperbole, but that looks AWESOME! Where can I get some of that film to play with myself?

I bought it on eBay from a seller in California the listing is here. He has a bunch of different sizes and colors, I bought that size and covered my Macbook too.
Thanks for posting pics, been really thinking of doing this myself for the past couple of days. Seeing how nice yours turned out I think I may do it. Was it fairly easy to do ?

I almost ordered from that site, they had a New Years promo going on (30% off) but the shipping was like $8. The guy on eBay is only like 6 hours from me and the shipping was free so that's why I ordered his.
It wasn't too hard to apply, but cutting out the camera hole was fairly difficult. If you look closely you can see some slight jagged edges around the top part. I may redo it in the future if it starts to attract dirt or peel up right there, but I've got so much of it now it doesn't really matter
that looks great! have you had any issues with it sticking to the battery door due to it not being a flat surface it sticks to?

I actually cant see the issue you are talking about from the pictures. Looks like you did a great job applying it. I just bought the 4x8 off that website with free shipping. Figured that would be enough for just the battery cover.
Did you actually wrap it around the battery cover or did you cut it along the sides of the battery cover ?
Edit: If you did wrap it around the battery cover could you possibly take an picture of the otherside of the battery cover ? If you don't mind that is. If not thanks for showing your results !

The small bulge at the top where the camera is had a little bit of trouble when I was applying it, but I used a small flexible squeegee and got it to stick just fine.
I thought that the bottom was going to be more difficult because it has the slight curve to it but it wasn't a problem at all.

I didn't wrap it, just cut out a piece that was about 1/2" wide on both sides then trimmed it with a razor blade by hand. I would not suggest using a razor in a knife though, I tried at first and it is too unwieldy so I used just the razor out of the knife and it cut really well.
Very nice... I'm going with Gun Metal Carbon Fiber Ghost Armor

Okay, let’s get this out of the way first. These are minimalist cases! They’re meant for people who would prefer going bare back, because the best is nothing at all. Scuffs, scratches, and the last time you looked, things that just shouldn’t be there, no protection can be too risky. Even though that’s what you want.
A hardcase gives you the absolute minimum coverage, so it can be as close to nothing as possible.
They won’t protect well against drops with any substantial height, drunk stumbling Friday nights, Nexus Frisbee, or if your name happens to be Freddy Fumblefingers. Please buy something softer, thicker, rubberier, or with multiple layers, because sir or madam, these cases will not be able to keep up with you.
They will protect well against scrapes, dirty tables, fake bumping into people to say “hello”, or if your better half has long sharp nails and you need a protective shield.
Currently I am using my white Ringke Slim as a baseline for comparison. It’s a great minimalist case. Fits snug and solid, and was exactly what I was looking for. I looked at eBay and saw a bunch of cases for $0.99. I figured, I’ve spent more money on dumber things, let’s take a shot and see how these compare.
I ended up buying 5 cases in 3 different styles. I limited myself to the top end only, the crème de la crème, the $0.99 category. Yes I know, big spender. Each of these cases also included free shipping. I don’t know how, but each one, all in, is literally just under a buck.
*EDIT: Some of you may be worried because you scratched the corners of your Nexus 5/heard people have scratched the corners of their Nexus 5 with hardcases (Ringke Slim, Spigen Ultra Fit, etc.) If you think you might have problems scratching your Nexus 5 taking a hardcase off, watch these video tutorials I've made. And stop worrying!

Card Trick:
Properly bending the case over corners (1 at a time): Use the camera cutout with your index finger as the pivot point/fulcrum to make it easier to bend the case out and over the corner.
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Hard-Plastic-Back-Cover-Case-Skin-For-NEW-LG-Google-Nexus-5-4-E960-Candy-Color-/251377476993?pt=US_Cell_Phone_Screen_Protectors&var=&hash=item3a8743e581
First up was the candy color hardcase, in dark blue. “You’re my boy Blue!” (UPDATE: Not Recommended. Case design is not consistent, see below)
The pictures just don’t do justice to how deep of a blue this is. It’s fantastic. Build quality wise, other than the spot where you can clearly see they took it off the mold, it’s not bad. The button cut outs are correct. The headphone and micro USB cut outs are also good. The camera cutout is acceptable and there is enough space to make sure nothing is blocked, but it isn’t quite centered.
It’s a smooth plastic so it may be slippery depending on your hands. If they’re moist, no problem, but if you have dry hands, have a decent grip. Like the back of the black Nexus 5, this finish is a bit of a fingerprint magnet.
There are no sharp edges, and the plastic is a little softer and more malleable than the Ringke Slim (it’s thinner plastic). While the case fits snugly with no risk of coming off, the softer material makes it easier to bend to put on/take off the phone. Though there is less corner coverage than the Ringke Slim. The lip over the front is also miniscule, so while you could place it face down and not have the screen touch the table, you probably wouldn’t want to take the chance.
Overall, this case has an amazing shade of blue. But other than that, it’s definitely just an average case, along the “get what you pay for line.” Okay deal for a buck but don’t expect much more. If you want a case with colors that are really intense and pop, this one will suit you well. I’ll use it on occasions when I feel like there’s just not enough color around.

Znamir81 ordered the same blue Candy color case as above and got something completely different. Maybe the seller sent him the wrong case, but either way, should probably skip the Candy Color cases. The power button cutout is different, it is larger and includes the simtray/eject. See this post for full details.

Next up are a pair of semi-transparent frosted hardcases. I got these in blue and black. They each came with a screen protector (I don’t use screen protectors so can’t comment) which was a nice gesture for a buck. They also included little keychain nub touchscreen pens. You can tell they’re cheap and hollow, but when you’re in a pinch, or maybe if you don’t want to take off your mitts in the cold, they might come in handy. I tested them and they work quite well.
Both cases were made well, no complaints. No sharp edges, no remnants of the mold where it was detached either. The material is again smooth plastic, but with a neat absorbent coating or something. My hands were semi wet/warm and I was leaving fingerprints and smudge marks all over the place. But looking at the case, the fingerprints would just dry up and disappear. It was neat, don’t know how long it will last but it was nice how I didn’t have to wipe it, it just went away on its own. Definitely not fingerprint magnets.
The cases fit snugly, and the lip is enough that if you would like to put it face down you could. Corner coverage again is minimal, and less than the Ringke Slim, a little bit more than my boy Blue up there.
The colors, while I quite like them, don’t meld too well with the black Nexus 5. The nice bright blue, turned into a dirty teal color, and the black just looked smoke gray. I think these cases would look fantastic on the white Nexus 5 (especially during the summer months). I do like that you can see the Nexus branding through the case though.
You can also see dark spots around the edges, those are where the case has more pressure against the phone than on other areas. It’s more prominent on the black Nexus 5, but I’m sure it would be minimalized or not show at all with the white.
I quite like these cases, but due to the color of the phone, I’ll probably only use them at the gym for wear and tear. The black phone really dulls the colors, but otherwise I highly recommend them (for white Nexus 5 owners) as the build quality, finish, and finger print magic are quite good. The screen protector, and touchscreen nubs are a good bonus. Fantastic deal for $0.99.

Last is a pair of quicksand cases. There are some bigger brands that people have mentioned here that do this style, such as Bear Motion and Poetic. So let’s see how a generic version at a fraction of the price compares. These cases also came with screen protectors and touchscreen nub keychains as a bonus.
I ordered Black and Orange. At first I was going to order the Bear Motion case, but when they didn’t have black, the $0.99 club came calling.
Firstly the colors, the black is fantastic, just a slightly off black, gritty, scattered color. The “orange” on the other hand, yeah… Not quite the citrus fruit I was looking for. It’s more of a watermelon pink orange. I don’t have a problem with that; I love watermelons and their mushy, juicy, deliciousness. But for a phone, wrong fruit for me. I’ll probably give it away, or save it for a bright summer day.
Build quality is excellent! The material is durable and malleable. I love the texture of it. It’s grippy without being tacky/sticky, and it feels like something you just want to hold. I actually don’t miss the phone being naked when the quicksand is on it. I would love a phone manufacturer to make a phone with a quicksand style back!
Fit and finish are perfect. All of the cutouts line up correctly, everything is centered and it is snugly fit. There is a good amount of lip on the front to place it face down if you like and there is more corner coverage than either of the previous 2 styles. The coverage on the top corners is equivalent to the Ringke Slim, while the bottom is slightly less but still comparable.
Honestly, this is the best $0.99 I’ve ever spent, and it’s replacing my Ringke Slim as my primary case. I’ve ordered all of the remaining colors for random days when I’m in the mood for a ridiculous bright green or sky blue. Gray will be nice too.
Overall, this is the minimalist case deal of deals for me. $0.99 gets a fantastically built case, perfectly lined camera and button cutouts, screen protector (don’t know quality), and touchscreen nub.

The only down side to any of the cases I’ve listed, is of course the delivery time. A buck doesn’t get you next day air, it’s in the ballpark of 3 – 4 weeks. If that’s no problem, and you’re a fan of minimalism, consider skipping the big names, and join the $0.99 club!
Few more black quicksand case pics from today. Just because I still can't get over how this can only be $0.99!

Feb 21, 2014 "B-Type" Quicksand Cases:
Mini Review:
NOTE: For these ones, just do an ebay search for “Nexus 5 Quicksand” and you will see them.
This is the seller I used. I suggest doing your own ebay search to see if there are sellers offering the cases with a lower price. At this current moment, the seller I used is at $2.05 and I saw some for around $1.98.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thin-Quicksand-Frosted-Hard-Case-Cover-Skin-For-Google-Nexus-LG-5-/171189921854?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item27dbb6e83e
Okay, here are the “B-Type” Quicksand cases. These ones differ from the ones I reviewed in the OP in a couple of ways. The camera cutout is slightly different. It has an upside down tear drop versus a light bulb style cutout. All of the remaining cutouts, power, volume rocker, headphone jack, and USB port are all accurate and centred. The camera and flash also line up nicely in the middle of the tear drop.
The more noticeable difference you will see between these ones and the original Quicksand cases (other than the camera cutout) are the Quicksand finish itself, and finer “neatness” details. This case is a little bit more “rough around the edges,” not in a sense of actually being “rough” to the touch, but more along the lines of not being completely neat and tidy. For example there are a couple spots on the bottom and top where there are a couple of extra bits from the moulding process remaining. They aren’t sharp or really all that noticeable unless you are actively looking/focusing on finding them, but they are there.
The other is the finish. This Quicksand finish is ever so slightly different. The finish is a little less “quicksandy” (yeah yeah not a real word) and a little more “plasticy”/rubbery with texture. It still has a quicksand finish, and you can tell it’s there, but it is not as prominent. It still feels nice in the hand, grips well, and won’t slide around. It’s seems like a quicksand “lite” I guess. One thing I did notice was that this finish seems incredibly durable, like it is meant to take a beating. To me it seems as if they took a quicksand case, and gave it one more protective coating dip or something. It lost a bit of the quicksand, but gained a bit of toughness. Not an entirely bad tradeoff. I have no problems with the durability of the normal Quicksand cases, but it can’t hurt to have a little extra shielding.
So, ultimately it’s not quite as clean and “finished” as the original Quicksand cases, but it’s still pretty good in my book. Also, since the original Quicksand cases are no longer $0.99, going up to $2.99+ now, these ones are still an okay buy at around $2.00 shipped. Also, you get more colour choices, so that’s a bonus. If you can find the original Quicksand cases in the colour of your choosing, I still recommend them first. But if you can’t find the colour you want, these ones aren’t a bad backup and are still pretty good cases. You’ll never beat the original $0.99 Quicksand cases, but I still like these too. And as you’ll see, the red is a nice deep red too!
Red “B-Type” Quicksand Case:
I really like the shade of red this case came in. I've been wanting a red case for a while, but the original Quicksands didn't come in it. Only that watermelon pink-orange colour... This shade is quite nice. It isn't overly bright (like an orange-red) or very dark (like a blood red), but a nice deep saturated red. They did well with this shade.
White "B-Type" Quicksand Case:
The white is white. By that I mean not "off white" or "eggshell" but white. It gives a good Stormtrooper look. I think with the slightly different coating this has, that I don't believe it will stain as easily. The lighter colours of the original Quicksand cases (like my lime green case) tended to pick up stains a little bit easily, but this slightly different coating seems like it will hold up a bit better against that (we'll see of course). So stick with the darker colours for the original Quicksand cases, but if you want to venture into lighter colours, these ones might be the better option.
Watermelon Pink-Orange Original Quicksand vs. Red "B-Type" Quicksand:
Here's a comparison between the original and B-Type Quicksand cases. You can see the different camera cutout as well as clear difference in colour. Whoever marketed that watermelon pink-orange case as "Red" should be smacked in the back of the head. Whoever said it would be good to call that case "Orange" as well, should also be smacked in the back of the head. It's clearly a Watermelon Pink-Orange....
But you can see what a real red actually looks like. The pictures don't show the finer details, but there are a couple imperfections on the top and bottom of the red case (and white) that I was mentioning earlier. You might be able to see them in the pictures of the white case + phone.
Wrap Up:
So I'm not disappointed with these cases. Sure, they're not as good as the original cases, but they're not far off. They also do gain a bit more of a durable finish, even if it does lose some of the Quicksand goodness. If the original Quicksand cases are the base line of 100%, I'd put these ones at 80% - 90%. Still pretty good, not perfect, but you won't be disappointed if you buy it. Also, with the additional colour choices, and lower price (now that the originals are no longer $0.99) I'd say they're still a good buy.

Which one?
I haven't had any issues with scratches with any of them. My phone is still perfect. I also tend to baby my electronics though, and am very careful when putting on/taking them off. I also did swap around all of these cases a bunch of times as well as the Ringke Slim and still have no scratch issues.
In general all of these cases had more flex and were a softer hard plastic (bit of an oxymoron but you get the idea) in comparison to the Ringke Slim which is excessively rigid. I also didn't have any scratch problems with the Ringke Slim though, as some others have mentioned they did.
In any case, these cases are all easier to bend outward and are very smooth. There are no sharp edges on any of them. There's always a risk especially with how soft the side plastic is on the black Nexus 5, but I think if you're very careful you won't have a problem.

I'm not sure how you're getting $1.68.

I guess on the candy color cases they raised the prices. It was $0.99 when I ordered in November. It still says that price as well until you choose a case. Sorry.
The other ones are still $0.99.

No problem, glad I could help.
Let me know what you think when you eventually get them. I'm sure they ship them by sail boat on calm days.
I definitely agree on your 4 quicksand choices! I think it's just such a good deal.
I bought the blue case for exactly the same reason. The color is just intense. It does suck that they raised the price though. But $1.68 is still dirt cheap in comparison to most cases.
i was about to make a new thread and say i got a hard case for 3$ locally (toronto) and a bumper case that im in love with.
anyways the hard case like you mentioned was shockingly good, no sharp edges, no left over molds, its nice and smooth
and best part of all its not super hard plastic, you can bend it and its semi flexible sort of .
its the black version of the (solid) blue one you got.
the bumper is also shockingly good for 5$ and its the one im currently using
the only question i have is, doesnt the quicksand kind of feel rough on the phone ? since the inside of the case is also the same rough material ? logic tells me that putting it on and taking it will scratch the phone since the case kind of acts like sand paper ? sorry for my ignorance !!
I've got same one, Unfortunately it came with chipped of corner but function is still good also seller send me a replacement one so all is well :victory:

i was about to make a new thread and say i got a hard case for 3$ locally (toronto) and a bumper case that im in love with.
anyways the hard case like you mentioned was shockingly good, no sharp edges, no left over molds, its nice and smooth
and best part of all its not super hard plastic, you can bend it and its semi flexible sort of .

Nice, $3 is still pretty good, especially without the wait time. And $5 for a bumper is good too.
After seeing that these $0.99 cases that I figured would be just cheap pieces of garbage were comparable or better (the quicksand for me) than cases 10 - 20x their price; I don't think I'm going to bother with a bigger brand name anymore on any future phone.
The 3 - 4 week wait is worth it when I can buy a variety of different styles of cases and swap them around for the price of 1 Spigen or Ringke. I still think my Ringke Slim is a great case, but I've been spoiled by $0.99 haha.
As for the quicksand texture, don't think of it as a coarse scratching material. Think of it along the lines of 1000 grit smooth sandpaper, but not sand, instead a textured/coated plastic. It's difficult to describe really, but it's not a material that will scrape the phone up. It just adds a nice grip.

There are other sellers that sell the same stuff, you don't have to use the one I did.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-QuickSand-Matte-Hard-Skin-Cover-Case-for-LG-Google-Nexus-5-D820-Green-Film-/271331661823?pt=UK_MobilePhones_MobilePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item3f2ca097ff
This seller has the blue and black quicksand and is located in the UK.

This one has all of the candy colors and ships to the UK.

These are the semi-transparent cases, ships to the UK.
If you do a http://www.ebay.co.uk search and just look up "Nexus 5 hard case" you should find the same cases that ship to you. They're all coming from the same factories anyway, I'm sure they wouldn't exclude the UK. It's probably just because the links I posted were for the Canadian site.
Thought I'd go for a white semi-transparent case, worth a go for 99p!

Can anyone with the second and/or third case let us know how tight the cases are? I know some scratch up the corners of the phone during installation

I don't think the quicksands I have will wear out anytime soon. But I'm probably going to buy extras anyway, they're just such great cases. Also, just in case they up the price! I don't think I could handle any blasphemy like $1.50 or something!! haha.

Well I reviewed the cases in the OP, so I guess I might have the 2nd and/or 3rd one! :good:
In terms of tightness, they're snug, and there's no risk of them falling off. They don't wiggle in the case or anything. They fit the same as the Ringke Slim. All of the cases I mentioned though (including the 2nd/3rd you were referring) are easier to put on and take off than the Ringke Slim I have that I was comparing them to.
This is because the type of polycarbonate these cases are using is not as rigid and stiff as the Ringke Slim (or Spigen Ultra Fit). They have a little bit more of a flex and give to them. When you are installing or removing the phone you can bend the sides out further, minimizing the rub against the corners of the phone. The Ringke Slim (and Spigen Ultra Fit) are very stiff cases, so some people were scraping the corners as they tried to pull the phone out because they didn't or couldn't bend the case out enough. The corners on the cases listed in the OP are also rounded and tapered more, and there are no sharp edges.
So rounded corners plus a little more flexible polycarbonate, and if you take care when putting it on (ie: don't just snap it in) and taking it off (ie: bend the corners out, not just pull on the side of the case), you should have no issues.
Do keep in mind though, I've never had the scraping problem with my Ringke Slim either. I followed the same procedure with these cases as I did with the Ringke, and have had no issue. It was in fact much easier.
So I've had the OF-7 for a few days now, and so far, my only complaint with the larger than normal ("Normal" being a Nexus 5 for me) screen size for me is the texture of the backplate. Its too smooth, and with the weight, it feels unsafe. I pre-ordered, so they sent me the flip cover which actually feels a lot better in the hand..
Unfortunately I take a lot of videos, so when the flip cover is open and I'm taking video, it gets in the way of the video. Does anyone know where I can buy another backplate that has a better texture to it than the stock smooth one? Thank in advance!

Well, the OnePlus is essentially the same device and its getting backplate alternatives, so we could see that coming to the Find 7 in the near future, but i don't know. Or maybe some third-party company starts to make them, like dBrand for example.

I thought the same about the stock backplate. I loved the feel of the Easy Cover but I don't like flip covers. So I cut the flip part of the cover off. Just cut the flip part along the crease where it naturally folds over. Then, using a nice sharp pair of scissors, Trim the remaining faux leather so it is flush with the plastic edge underneath. The side with the volume rocker has the plastic underneath the faux leather extending past the side of the phone. Just use some sand paper to make it flush with the part that is indented to accommodate the volume rocker. I found that the plastic overhang was reducing faster than the faux leather. Just sand some of the plastic then use the scissors to cut it flush again and continue until the plastic overhang is gone and flush with the sides of the phone. Then you might want to rough up the plastic edge on the power button side. This makes both sides uniform and gives better grip. When everything looks nice and flush use a lighter to melt any frayed faux leather. It probably took me 30 mins because I was a little obsessed with making it look nice. The end result is that it's flush with the left and right sides. It doesn't look hacked together at all. The only asymmetry is that the side that had the flip doesn't have stitching. I've attached pictures. Hopefully it works since I have less than 10 posts.
Wow, that's really well done Doc!
Might have myself a little weekend project here.
I'm really waiting for a thin case like Spigen or Incipio make for the Galaxy series. Nice matte feel for better grip and very thin.
the tchichs
Thnaks, I'm happy with the results. Almost everyone who I've shown my new telephonic smart device to has commented on how good the backplate feels. Give it a try. I'm not super craftsy or anything so anybody should be able to do it. The most tedious part was sanding down the lip on the volume rocker side. I used coarse grit sandpaper but if you had a rotary tool it would go much faster.

The Find 7 Premium has the carbon fiber back-plate. That is suppose to feel more secure. Maybe you can get it already somehow from China.
I have been able to shoot video with the flipcover, ARe you sure you can't acclimate to it? It's also not a bad idea in the protection department.
If you tilt your phone to the right instead of the left and hold the cover closed from the bottom it's not too awkward (for me anyway).
The white back actually has a really nice texture and is not as slippery as the black one. I actually want to see about ordering a replacement but in black. I think it would look cool, black front, white middle molding and black back I hope they start to sell just the backs. I emailed Oppstyle about it. Hopefully they will sell me a black one
I have the white back and still thought it was a little too slippery. I bought a black Nillkin case and Nillkin glass screen protector. The case is a nice textured softouch plastic. It fits great does not add much girth and no more slipperiness. Looks great with white peaking through the speaker and camera cutouts.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nillkin-Mat...Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item4d1b84f4c2
The glass protector went on easy but I had a bubble that I could not get out. After 2 days the bubble went away with occasional rubbing. Glass feels great but shows fingerprint oil more than stock. I don't like the ear piece/sensor cut out, I would have preferred a separate cut out for each. Seems kind of stupid putting glass on to protect gorilla glass butt people always loved the glass protectors so I thought I would try it. Since the case and protector came to $19 together, what the heck, give it a try. Shipping from China to SoCal was about 10days..

I have this exact setup. Can confirm the glass is very nice and the case is much better than the eBay ones.

Most people have reported that it has very little to no effect. I've barely used the front camera but I just looked at it and it looked fine to me.
Have anyone found a Place to order replacement back covers, I bought a midnight but would like to try the white and carbonfiber backcover to. Don't have the phone right now as I had to send it back to Oppostyle to get it replaced, but they still don't have any stock. Asked them about getting carbonfiber or white back covers, they checked with Oppo and they answered that they had no plans to sell back covers seperately.

Kedros is doing a mass / bulk order of fake-carbon / third-party back covers over at the official oppo forums right now.
If you want to snatch a carbon look-a-like cover, or simply midnight / white spares, thats the place you got to go.
Kedros charges 4.80€ per cover + 1€ shipping (china international) + 5% paypal fees.
Don't think you will find it any cheaper elsewhere.

I would love one with a sandstone texture like the OnePlus One.
I've never used a skin/wrap before and bring averse to bulky cases I thought I might give them a try.
If you've used them before I'd like to know more about your experience: ease of application, residue after removal, durability/longevity, feel and overall satisfaction.

I've used them. I like them but almost always wind up taking them off - don't really know why honestly. I didn't think anyone was shipping yet for the Pixel 2 but I could be wrong. My thoughts
Easy to apply, use a hair dryer and be patient
No residue after removal
No issues with longevity. They seem to stick around. Sometimes at the beginning you get a lot of dirt trapped along the edges but that goes away.
The biggest thing for me is grip and honestly none of the regular skins offer anything meaningful. Even the dragon one from Dbrand which was supposed to be super grippy didn't feel noticeably different to me than a regular skin. Dbrand has a narrow scoped, predictable, good product and great customer service. Meaning, they aren't offering crazy variety but just offering what they know works reliably. SlickWraps goes out of their way to make unique textures and materials such as natural wood and leather. Many people have had a ton of CS issues with them though. My favorite skin of all time is Alcantara from SlickWraps as it is soft touch and grippy but it does not go all the way around and also is rather thick.
I usually wind up with something like Peel as a case.

My first time trying a wrap. I'm not a fan of cases. But this just feels and looks like I have a sticker on my phone - especially on the curved backside corners.
It also collects fuzz like crazy. I'll be pulling mine off when my case gets here, out maybe just leave it on in my case.

Unless you go the natural selection, they are literally stickers lol. That fuzz collection will stop once the residual adhesive on edges fades

I just wanted to add my feedback on the dbrand dragon skin.
The dragon skin has a really nice leathery feel and definitely adds grippiness to the phone.
However, the one down side of using a full back + side skin is that because the physical power and volume buttons don't protrude very much from the phone, you kind of lose the tactile feel of them.
Kind of torn as to keep or peel it off. It is kind of weird not to be able to feel the power and volume buttons
Anyone get anything like Alcantara yet?

Do you get the sense that a case would fit over the skin? I'm considering one, but wouldn't necessarily want to remove and ruin it if I opted for a case afterward.

I used the spigen case over the dbrand skin for a couple days and it fit just fine. However, I decided I preferred no case - the dragon skin feels really nice with great grip.
One thing I do recommend from dbrand is to get a glass skin (or use the bonus one that's included) in addition to your normal full skin. The doubling up (or even tripling) of skins on the glass section make it just high enough to clear the stupid camera bump, and hopefully help prevent it from scratching when putting your phone on it's back.
I prefer clear TPU skins. They add significant grip on your hands and don't slide on flat surfaces. Plus, they are clear so you don't hide the phone's design.

Yikes. I've never seen anything like this. I believe I've had both Dbrand and SlickWraps, and both have been great, no fuzzies, and go on clean and tight. I had a nice light and dark wood (stickers only) for my Note5. I also have a real leather one that I never used, and may try to "mod" it for my Pixel 2 XL that's in the mail (so excited!!). I hate to see that nice leather go to waste. But it probably won't match up well and will probably look super-wanky. We'll see.
And the Pixel 2 looks like it may have the Nexus 5 soft matte back, am I wrong? Skins may not stick quite right, as opposed to the glass-back of the Note5.
(edit: just realized we have a Pixel 2 XL forum as well. I thought they'd just use one, but apparently dev is diff for each? Interesting...)
