Galaxy Watch (R805u) sensors dead - Samsung Galaxy Watch

I just bought the original Galaxy watch a few days ago, seemed like a great deal for a nice smartwatch. as i'm not very sporty, i'm just noticing now that all of the sensors are not working! Gyro, Accelerometer, HR . I have been at this for a couple of hours now researching if it's hardware related to see if i can get a refund or software problem. unfortunetly, most of the threads / forums i have been on are torn between both. some say that a couple of reboots fixed it and some say they had to service the watch to fix it. Does anybody have some final thoughts? Thank you!
Model : SM-R805u
latest software : Tizen 5.5.01 R805USQU1DUD1

Unfortunately, I have not seen a hardware fix for the Galaxy HR sensor around this forum...
Not sure what Samsung would charge to do it?
I had that watch and my HR sensor never worked correctly and flash green randomly...

After contacting the seller, I'm eligible for a full refund or an exchange, is the watch worth it? should I get an exchange and be happy about it or is the galaxy watch just prone to sensors failing? cause if so I wouldn't bother and will get a refund.
Thank you for the reply!

Myself, I would get the refund and check maybe the Galaxy Active 2 which I like and has good sensor's with more support here...

[Q] GPS not working and Samsung says BER

I bought the Galaxy Nexus about 2 - 3 months ago. A week ago the phone's GPS stopped working. I called Samsung and I sent the phone to them for repair. They said it is a BER (Beyond Economical Repair) due to corrosion / liquid damage. I can't imagine how would water got into the phone or how it only affected the GPS with everything else working. I really took a good care of the phone. I called technical support but they did not help me either.
I use the GPS a lot while travelling and I cannot live without it. Can someone tell me if there is anything left I can do? Is it possible to replace the GPS chip inside the phone ? should I get a bluetooth GPS ? I am kinda lost and feel unfortunate that this happens.
Download GPS status from the play store. See if you still get any satellites, if you at least get a few then most likely the gps.config file is missing some stuff.
Nothing shows up on GPS status. Always 0 / 0
Got exactly same problem but Samsung keeps saying that handset is OK. Sent 4 times got back with no results..... do not know what to do?

I got a gnex from play store in June 2012 and the GPS on it just wouldn't work. I
tried all the GPS patches a handful of custom ROM thinking ics could have been the problem. But nothing made the GPS work. GPS status showed 0/0 satellites.
In September I bought a second nexus for my wife and to my surprise and then anger, the GPS showed and locked almost instantly.
My point being, Samsung fixed the GPS chip on the newer models. If only they had done so when people complained all over the WWW regarding the GPS issue.

May I ask what date did you purchase your Galaxy Nexus?
UPDATE: I called Samsung multiple times and they told me that according to their policy water damage is not covered by warranty. I did not throw the phone in the toilet or in a lake. All sensors work including cellular radio, WiFi, BT, HSPA, 3G, NFC, multi-touch screen, proximity sensor, light sensor and USB works as well. It is ONLY the GPS that is not working.
The guy on the phone told me to go to Samsung.com and write an email to their customer service. The only link I got was Email the CEO. I thought this was kinda a joke but; nevertheless; I wrote an email and I sent it. Surprisingly, the next day I got a thorough response from Samsung. They offered me a one time courtesy fix for about $190 and a photo (attached) for the damage on the phone. Their point is that there is no way to pinpoint whether the damage was from them or from the user. BTW, I got the official car dock and an extended battery so I already spent some good money on this phone and the car dock is mainly for navigation as I use it a lot. I did not go with the fix as I thought it might be better just to hold off and wait for the next Nexus by late November.
Maybe if this issue is affecting other users Samsung would recognize that it is a manufacturer defect and offer us a fix under warranty.
That's the JTAG port..
They probably don't want to replace the whole motherboard as the GPS chip is on the board.. Then the JTAG port happened to be corroded, so they took the chance.
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?

Ghosting and burn in

Noticed my golf gps app has burned in a little on my phone. Is there any way to correct this, any downloadable tools to fix it?
Anyone?
not really any fix that i've heard of. a few apps on the play store that claim they help/repair the issue. ultimately, burn in is burn in. you may want to contact a carrier service center to see if something like this is covered under the warranty. i could be wrong on all this. cheers
If not covered by the carrier, Samsung may be able to help with this issue. They have exchanged a TV for me for that issue.

Try that
thanks guys. my only concern with taking it to the carrier is that...don't they just give you a refurbished phone as a replacement? i did this exact same thing with my samsung focus two years ago also with AT&T, the replacement they gave me had more problems than the one i switched out. but after that warranty period expired i was stuck with it.
in my experience, refurb units 75% of the time restore the problem that made them a refurb to begin with. ghosting is a lot easier to deal with than, say, the touchscreen not responding. just not sure if the AT&T warranty is worth it, but would like to hear from others on their intel or experiences. thanks.
Anyone?

[Q] Note 10.1 2014 edition WIFI, flickering- black screen issue

Hey guys
I own recently a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition. Since a couple of days of using I discovered issues with my screen.
On games like real boxing and GTA Vice City (max res.) and kids bible I experienced flickering and black screen and even sudden reboot, whereas with games like Fifa 14, Asphalt 8 or subway Surf, no problem...
Is this related to my device or is it an app issue?
Any advise or sharing of experience will be appreciated!
Thanks
I got GTA 3 but not Vice City, I'll try it out for you.
Yet if the issue doesn't continue on the rest of the apps, it must be just incompatibility between the system and the game.
Email the developer and ask if they have gotten any reports similar to what your issue is.

I've been experiencing screen flickering when I turn on Netflix, Multi-Screen, and a Full Screen Youtube. Anyone know how to fix this? I wouldn't want to send it over to Samsung.

I experienced this problem but after some tests I concluded it was not software related. After googling a little I opened the back cover and found the flat screen cable was not well fixed with tape and in some cases the contact was not perfect. Rebounded properly and the problem was fixed.

mine was the SM-P601 3G+WIFI 32GB version,
already twice goes to the service center here in Indonesia,
it is difficult for me to show the flickering issues to their desk, because the flickering issues are random in my case, and i had charging issues also, sometimes the device are well charged and sometime was not (showing crossed battery indicator), i must tap twice or more in the back surface area and usually the device are normally charging again.
but the situation is, they not admit that there were something wrong with my device, the final resume always said that it was a software issues, and only offering restore with the original ROM / FIRMWARE , my device still in under warranty, my question is, is it the only step to fix this flickering issues and charging issues by tear up the whole surface / back cover and re-tape the flat screen cable? it seems rather than do it by my self, already showing ziotom2 answer to the CS in my area and they are refuse to tear up and check the flat screen cable

p600 wifi turning off on of on off on....

Ok this started last night, tablet has been working flawlessly for the last 6 months or more.
What happened was, I wasn't able to use the Internet. Just wasn't working. And every 20 seconds or so it would flash up at the bottom of the screen "connected to (my router)".
So I turned wifi off and on, which usually fixed connection issues, but didn't help. I also restarted router, even though my computer and my phone isn't having any issues.
So then I went to the wifi settings screen to see if there was any way to reset networks. What I saw was this:
If i turn wifi toggle on and watch the screen, it would scan for networks, find the list... Couple seconds pass... Then the toggle would switch itself off and back on! And then it would start looking and finding networks again, and then off and on, and etc etc.
I have tried a factory reset and cache reset.
I have also downloaded the 4.4.2 stock rom and installed using odin for a totally new install.
Still does it.
Any suggestions? Seems very strange. It's under warranty but it seems like an odd hardware fault, seems more like software but I dunno.
Help me xda, you're my only hope.
I've been searching the Internet all day trying to find someone else havin this problem... But I seem to be the only one. And noone seems to have any suggestions.
At the moment I'm having to consider a warranty dispute, but that means however many days/weeks without the tablet which I use on a daily basis.
Not ideal Samsung.

Hey. I had the EXACT same problem. Even made a video of it and showed it to the service point personell. Turning on off on again and again, it also displays in the settings the switch just switches itself without any action of mine. It was a hardware defect. send it in and get a new one, better than being annoyed by it. Mine did it on a 5-10sec interval length...

Yeh mines probably every 5-10 seconds...
So this is definitly a hardware fault? In which case I'll have to get in touch with john lewis and hope they will do an exchange in store. If it involves having to send it off to samsung and waiting for it..
Anyway thanks for replying to the question, shame it wasn't better news haha!

yeah sorry to be the one to tell you this is a faulty device but it seems like this unit ain't free of errors and there quality control is somewhat sketchy.
Which android version are you running? I am asking because I run kitkat and also have relatively ****ty battery life. I use it for university so I have the screen on and write notes during lectures. Usually it lasted 7-8hours but for about a week or two it now only lasts 4-5 hours of screen time which is really ****ty.
I read somewhere that this might be a motherboard issue and if it is it might be somewhat corellated to our wifi problem. In my case they replaced the wifi module and gave me back my "old" device but this is having bad battery life so I am thinking about sending it in (again). I did however root so I would have to make use of the warranty provided by the seller, not samsung itself, since my knox is tripped.
(in Germany the sellers also must provide 6months - 2 years of warranty and there was a judgement in Europe that rooting must not have any influence on wether your device still is under warranty or not. sadly this only applies to the warranty provided by the seller, not the manufacturer)
Is your BT on and are you connected to a 2.4 GHZ network?
If so, turn off BT
I get random WiFi disconnects and reconnects from 2.4 GHZ networks when BT is on but not connected. Though, Ive never noticed the wifi switch going off and on.
I am running 4.4.2 or whatever, kitkat anyway.
Bluetooth is off, I never use it on my tablet. I dunno what network type I'm running, might be N or might be B/G, but whatever it is it what it has been for months as I havent changed any router settings lately.
I have restarted the router twice already in case this was a network problem, but the network wouldn't cause the wifi to toggle off and on, it would just cause disconnects etc. Least I assume so. I may try this just in case but like I said the network type hasn't changed lately
John Lewis are saying they won't exchange it, it will have to be sent off to Samsung for "repair". Meaning I'll probably get sent back a refurbished second hand one with a dodgy light bleed screen, as I expect they have hundreds of those lying around now.
Oh and it'll be up to 28 days. For a premium and expensive device that's less than 6 months old this just isn't good enough.

I had mine replaced as well but dont remember wether I got a new one or just my old one repaired... should have written down the IMEI I guess :-/
you're from Bristol, don't the EU rights apply there? If so your retailer should be obliged to replace or repair the device.

Anyways my replacement was done through Samsung and it took 6 days. But then again idk differences between UK and Germany...

Heart rate and spO2 monitor not working

Tried and tried again to get the heart rate and spo2 monitor working.
I have even tried factory data reset to no avail.
If you have had any luck, or if you have seen this problem please let me know
Both functions work for me (via the S Health app). You may have faulty hardware.
That's what I'm thinking , I talked to Samsung and they said turn it in during the grace period, I'm with AT&T so my grace period is 14 days after receiving the device

Sounds like the right thing to do. Though you might try someone else's finger first and make sure yours isn't incompatible.
Lol thank you for that, that I have done actually though , sorry for not accounting the process of attempts
My heart rate sensor works perfectly however the spo2 doesn't work at all.
Both work fine for me via health app as well. Very consistent for both my wife and me.
Just got back from a Verizon store. Got a replacement and now the spo2 sensor works.
Glad to know I'm not the only one having this problem
I just tested someone else's galaxy note 4, and their red light is definitely brighter than mine.
