Hi Is there anyway to change the way I answer my phone? I don't like the swipe and would prefer tap to answer.
Settings -> Accessibility -> Interaction and dexterity -> Assistant menu -> Single tap to swipe [on] . There you go!

I have a T - Mobile HTC Desire and have problems setting the weather widget to auto update.
Menu -> Weather -> press menu button -> Settings -> select "Update automatically".
Anyone notice it automatically deselects after you leave the screen?
Holla bak.
Try Settings/Accounts & Sync/weather/account settings/update schedule.
Works for me. & PS. I also see the auto update disappearing after I go back as you mentioned, Yet my weather update perfectly with the setup as I mentioned above. Cheers

You have to select the general auto update option for the setting to stick, there is another thread somewhere where I explained this more in detail
Is there any way to disable the lock screen?
Settings > Lock Screen > Select screen lock set to 'None'.
I don't have that option, seriously
Send screenshot of ur settings menu.
i think they removed the "none" option in lollipop
So, this is the behaviour I'm looking for: at night no sounds except alarms.
No way I can achieve that: either no sound at all (including alarms) or alarms AND WhatsApp notifications.
To my understanding setting DND mode (Settings -> Sound -> Do not disturb -> Mode) to "Priority only" should enable only alarms and the applications selected as "priorities" by checking them in Settings -> Sound -> Do not disturb -> Select priorities -> App notifications. So far so good, just let all the apps in the list unchecked and no notification will sound, right? Wrong, WhatsApp is NOT in the list, I cannot uncheck it and its notifications play their sound at night.
BTW: I also set to "No one" Settings -> Sound -> Do not disturb -> Select priorities -> Calls from and Messages from.
Anybody with the same problem? Potential solutions?
Well, I got a reply for myself, I guess.
The setting I was looking for is in Setting -> Apps & notifications -> App info -> WhatsApp -> App notifications -> Messages notifications (or Groups notifications) (tap on "..." before the switch) -> Override Do not Disturb.
Easy, isn't it?
The fact that WhatsApp is missing from "Select priorities" is a bug to my eye.
How can I disable the quick settings (swipe down from the top) ? I installed an app on my daughters phone which prevents acces to settings but it's still possible to access them via quick settings
Hey everyone,
So since Google removed the PWR+VolUp button combo to put phones into vibrate and require multiple clicks, I had previously found the suggestion to use Quick Tap with a mute app.
Since I'm personally more of a VIBRATE person (and no app exists), I created a quick and dirty app to cycle through NORMAL -> VIBRATE -> SILENT
Instructions are simple:
Install the build apk under Releases
Under Settings -> System -> Gestures -> Quick Tap to start action -> Open App, select 'Shhh"
On first use/update, it may request notification permissions (if not granted already)
Double tap back of phone to cycle through the 3 notification options (Toast notifications will also notify you of current setting)
Let me know any suggestions or bugs so I can fix it. I've only tried it on the Pixel 6 Pro running A12/A12L
Cheers!
This seems to be working exactly as you described. I am running the P6P on 12L.
Isn't simpler to tap on the bell icon above the volume slider?
a Tasker task does the trick as well....of course you need Tasker

This is a fantastic idea. Nicely done . I come from the OnePlus phones the past 5 years and kind of missing the physical toggle switch they all had. This is a good replacement.
