Hi,
I have a Bluetooth device on my car and I enjoy playing my music on my mobile (Desire HD ofc) through the car's speakers, and of course making calls and thou.
But every time I turn on the car and then the car-device search and connect to my mobile (automatically! woho) and I configured the mobile to run the "Car-Home" Aplication automaticly when the device is connected,
So then of course I want to put music (through "PowerAMP" - player witch I added icon to the list) So I need to press on the icon of the poweramp and then it opens it and I need to click play and then return to the home-car.
Too many clicks just to make music run.
Is there any way to make my life easier then it already does?
Like making the power amp press play automaticly when Bluetooth headset is connected?
or configuring the car-home to do it, it self..?
Thank you,
Yarden.
any one?
You might be able to do that with an app called 'tasker'. You can find it in the market (it's a paid app btw).
Here's an informative article about it;
h**p://lifehacker.com/5599116/how-to-turn-your-android-phone-into-a-fully+automated-superphone
seems like a very fine app,
But I can't make my command to work.
Do you know how to use this software and explain me please?
I only want to play music (my playlist is already on), when the car home app is turned on (it will pop on automatically when I'm in car driving).

I made it work with the default music app. To set up the profile follow these steps;
1. Select NEW and name your profile
2. Select 'application' in the context menu
3. Select 'car panel' and click DONE
4. Select 'New task +' in the task selection box
5. Name your task
6. Click + sign > select 'audio' > select 'media volume' > move 'level' slider to desired volume > select DONE
7. Againg Click + sign > select 'app' > select 'load app' > select 'Music' > select DONE (you could also select PowerAMP here but I didn't test this)
8. Again click + sign > select 'Media' > select 'Media control' > select 'Toggle Pause' in the 'cmd' droplist > select DONE (simulate media button has to be checked)
9. In 'task edit' window click DONE
10. Make sure your profile is loaded; green V next to profile (uppper right corner) and green ON in the bottom right corner
11. enjoy your tasker profile!
Optional
12. Hit the thanks button under my post
your an angel from sky
god damn what a great explanation.
I did it all thank you very much,
I'll test it tomorrow in my car (its 3:24 am here now )

I updated my AT&T Note II to KitKat 4.4.2 last night, via AT&T OTA update.
According to the new features list, I should now be able to access the camera app from the lock screen, right?
But now joy.
All my Googling thus far indicates that I should first enable lock screen widgets by going to "Settings -> Security", and turn on a check-box for "Enable Widgets". I have no such option, or check-box, on the "Settings -> Security" page. And I no such similar options on the "Settings -> Lock screen" page either.
I've also seen instructions (albeit for other Samsung devices) that seem to indicate that I should first disable (or turn off) the lock screen altogether. In other words, set the lock screen to "None". And then re-enable it. It seems that I can not set the lock screen option to "None", after the KitKat upgrade. In other words, it seems that after the KitKat update, I am now forced to choose either Pin or Password lock screen. I have only two options available on the "Settings -> Lock screen -> Screen lock" page now - Pin, or Password. All other options are gray'd out, saying "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage".
Anybody else seeing this after the KitKat upgrade?
Anybody have any hints on how to get the camera, or any other, lock screen widgets to show up on the lock screen?
EDIT: Solution found. See post #11 below

Thanks for the suggestion 06Silverado... but no joy.
There is no such option on the Settings -> Lock screen -> Lock screen widgets page.
Here is what I see (see attached screen-shots)
1 - The Settings [My device] page
Followed by tapping on Lock screen
2 - The Settings [My device] -> Lock screen page
Followed by tapping on lock screen widgets
3 - The Settings [Mydevice] -> Lock screen -> Lock screen widgets page

Very interesting... your Settings -> Lock screen page looks very different from mine.
In answer to your question... Yes, I took the ota 4.4.2 update last night.
Here is a screen-shot of my Settings -> About device page
And... if I go to the bottom of the Settings -> About device -> Status page, it says "Official"
I wonder what could be causing the difference????

It also looks like you have a Lock screen = Swipe.
That's not even an option on my device (it's gray'd out, and says Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage).
As shown in the attached screen-shot
I wonder if a security policy of some sort got installed on my device. It's a personal phone (as in not managed by my employer's MDM solution), so I'm not sure how any such policy would have gotten installed. I certainly didn't knowingly do so.

I think I figured out how to re-enable all the screen lock types.
Following the suggestion in this stackexchange thread... I cleared credential storage by going to Settings -> Security -> Clear credentials
Now I'm able to set a screen lock = Swipe
As in, all those screen lock types that were gray'd out are no longer gray'd out.
And I'm finally able to add the Camera widget to the lock screen
Holy crap... what an ordeal that was.
I wonder how the heck my credential storage got dorked.
Oh well... moving on.
Thanks for all your help/suggestions 06Silverado
Having another set of screen-shots to compare/contrast, helped alot.

Camera widget doesn't show
Hi all,
I am having the similar problem here where my camera shortcut on lockscreen doesn't show up
However I am able to choose other lockscreen option such as pattern, pin, password, etc...
I have read the solution given from pdfruth in post #11, but the "clear credential" option is disabled
I just update my note 2 into kitkat 4.4.2 and manage to root successfully
my problem is "shortcut" option is missing so that I cannot have the camera shortcut or other shortcut on my lockscreen
Please assist...
Hi,
Im using an Australian HTC One M8.
Android 5.0.1
Sense 6.0
Software 4.19.841.5
and am looking for the Auto Redial function that i found on the Verizon M8 version
http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-95975/
Auto Retry
From a Home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
Tap Settings.
Note If unavailable, tap the dropdown menu Apps dropdown menu icon (located in the upper left) then tap Alphabetical. If still unavailable, refer to Manage App Icons.
From the DEVICE section, tap Call.
From the OTHER CALL SETTINGS section, tap Auto retry to enable/disable.
Note Enabled when a check mark is present.
I'd prefer to use the function embedded in the firmware, rather than an app.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks

I was having the same issue, first make sure floating notifications, and bubbles is enabled in the advanced notifications menu. Then back in the notifications menu under recently sent, click more to see your apps. Select app you want, and select show as bubble, select All. This worked for me. I also reset my phone setting before this. I dont know if it helped. Was kind of annoying to figure out but mine works now. Remember not all apps are supported. Good luck
long press the app -> press the i button -> notifications -> show as bubbles -> select "all"

Hey everyone,
So since Google removed the PWR+VolUp button combo to put phones into vibrate and require multiple clicks, I had previously found the suggestion to use Quick Tap with a mute app.
Since I'm personally more of a VIBRATE person (and no app exists), I created a quick and dirty app to cycle through NORMAL -> VIBRATE -> SILENT
Instructions are simple:
Install the build apk under Releases
Under Settings -> System -> Gestures -> Quick Tap to start action -> Open App, select 'Shhh"
On first use/update, it may request notification permissions (if not granted already)
Double tap back of phone to cycle through the 3 notification options (Toast notifications will also notify you of current setting)
Let me know any suggestions or bugs so I can fix it. I've only tried it on the Pixel 6 Pro running A12/A12L
Cheers!
This seems to be working exactly as you described. I am running the P6P on 12L.
Isn't simpler to tap on the bell icon above the volume slider?
a Tasker task does the trick as well....of course you need Tasker

This is a fantastic idea. Nicely done . I come from the OnePlus phones the past 5 years and kind of missing the physical toggle switch they all had. This is a good replacement.
