Can I borrow a H815 unlock.bin file?

Hello!
I own the AT&T variant of the LG G4 H810 and I was wondering if the H815 unlock.bin file for the unlock bootloader process can be opened to analyze it to see if it could be adapted to unlocking the AT&T version? If anyone could send me theirs that would be great (if you can open it by all means remove the imei number and oem id number). :good:
No.

the unlock.bin files are generated from your individual IMEI code, if you try to unlock it with someone elses, it probably wouldn't do anything, just say failed or something

Yeah I figured. I just wanted to see if I could edit what's inside the bin file by any means in order to replace the imei and the device code to make it work for the other models that it's not available for.
It would be interesting to get a collection of those files and examine them for patterns. There have been cases in the past where unlock key files were "generated" from your IMEI, but in fact none of that information mattered, the bootloader only looked at a single field that was the same for all devices... would be pretty funny if something like that happened again!

We're all on a wild goose chase thinking LG has some voodoo magic locking the phones. Meanwhile they're sat over at LG laughing hysterically because all you need was a model number.

[LG G4][Issue] IMEI in software different from the one in back label unable to Unlock

have an LG G4 H815 I'm facing problem with low level network & loose of LTE so i wanted to unlock my device to gain more solutions but when i put my imei in LG developers site. I got the answer that my device ID don't match the imei so i tried the Imei found in the back label . the same thing i got the same answer. So now im unable to unlock my device
Looks like you are using a refurbished device, go check your hardware IMEI to identity your device, only H811 or H815 gets BL unlocked

Dial *#06# will give you your hardware IMEI, that's the real IMEI.
Open a new tab, copy the link below and paste your IMEI after the “=”
http://www.lgbbs.com/LGB2B/IMEI.php?IMEI=YOUR IMEI
You won't be able to unlock your bootloader unless you have a label under your battery that has same IMEI as what shows by dialing *#06#. This is only done if repaired by LG authorised repairer.
LG will ask for photo proof of the label and even the barcode has to match. Trust me I changed my own motherboard and they don't want to know about it!
Send a mail to lg [email protected] and ask for unlock. like this:
Hello,
I tried to bootloader unlock my LG g4 H815 but i got device ID mismatch using official unlock web site.
The mainboard was replaced in aug. 2016 under warrenty. (LG Germany).
What can i do to unlock the bootloader of this device?
Best regards

Answer by lg:
Hello,
*
We apologize for any inconvenience.
*
it may not match due to the replacement.
*
If so, please send us the following:
- The new Device ID copied from the DOS command window as text.
(You can copy the Device ID with the right button of your mouse.)
- A label photo file (less than 200KB) taken from the back of the phone.
(You can find the label when you remove the battery.)*
** In the photo, the label must be visible on the back of the phone.
*
We are now providing an interim solution for this issue.
Hello,
*
We apologize for the delay and any inconvenience caused.
**last week was the Korean Thanksgiving (Chu-Seok) holiday period.*
*
You can now unlock the bootloader of your phone at Unlock Bootloader page. Please try again.
*
Best Regards,
LG Developer site Team

Device ID is unmatched when trying to open bootloader

Hello, Im trying to open my bootloader and root my LG G4(H815) but when Im trying to get the unlock.bin file, I get this error from LG: "Device ID is unmatched. Please check your Device ID. Your account will be locked if you enter the wrong Device ID more than x times."
From what I've read, the reason is probably because I had the common LG problem and I had my motherboard replaced(twice, if it matters). anyway, I don't really know what to do now, how to get a new IMEI number? Is there anything I can do on my own to do that? should I contact the local LG customer service? or the shop I bought the phone from?
Thanks.

check boot loop serial

Guys as the name suggests , wanna know the best method to check the actual serial number of the nexus 5x. Please someone tell me the best method to check the serial number. Thanks
Settings -> about phone -> status
Do you mean you want to check it and the phone is stuck in a boot loop ? If so, then you need to go to bootloader mode to view it.
This first post in the thread explains how to get into bootloader mode by holding the correct key combinations at boot.

Well don't you think that serial number can be modified by rooting and using build prop editor?

No actually wanna buy a new nexus phone but I am afraid that I may end up with a faulty phone , so wanna check the actual serial number of the set.

Well thought of doing that but then if one can edit the serial number from inside of the phone , then it's not a problem for one to change the sticker I think.
Just realised the serial number is not inside the case. It's only the IMEI.
I didn't realise you could edit both serial number and IMEI via software. I'd like to learn more. Any links to relevant info ?

The only method I know of is a sticker on the retail box. The serial number in the Settings is different and doesn't indicate build date.

You're supposed to keep your IMEI number private. You don't want to be freely giving it away to random websites and I would suggest deleting your link.

The LG g4 suffers from a bootloop where when the phone gets hot, over time it will brick the phone and leave it in a boot looping state. LG states that the cause is "loose contact between components". this may have something to do with the time the phone was made or, the serial number. It is said that the affected serial numbers can range from S/N 505, and up to S/N 509. that would mean that the affected models would be september and under. the serial number on the one I've ordered (ebay) is 511. So what i'm really asking is if it is true that phones with a serial number of 509 and over have little to no risk of bootlooping. I'm just hoping I don't get caught up in the dreaded issue.
