Can I borrow a H815 unlock.bin file? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I own the AT&T variant of the LG G4 H810 and I was wondering if the H815 unlock.bin file for the unlock bootloader process can be opened to analyze it to see if it could be adapted to unlocking the AT&T version? If anyone could send me theirs that would be great (if you can open it by all means remove the imei number and oem id number). :good:

No.

the unlock.bin files are generated from your individual IMEI code, if you try to unlock it with someone elses, it probably wouldn't do anything, just say failed or something

Yeah I figured. I just wanted to see if I could edit what's inside the bin file by any means in order to replace the imei and the device code to make it work for the other models that it's not available for.

It would be interesting to get a collection of those files and examine them for patterns. There have been cases in the past where unlock key files were "generated" from your IMEI, but in fact none of that information mattered, the bootloader only looked at a single field that was the same for all devices... would be pretty funny if something like that happened again!

We're all on a wild goose chase thinking LG has some voodoo magic locking the phones. Meanwhile they're sat over at LG laughing hysterically because all you need was a model number.

Why the sim unlock code t-mobie sent me is not working, please suggest?

I bought a t-mobile dash with WM5 from ebay, I sent the request for sim unlock to t-mobile, and I also received the sim unlock code soon. but the unlock code is not working in my dash, when input the code two times, the below message appeared :
you have tired 2 times please wait for retry.
but I know if I try much many times, the phone will be permanently locked, so I did not try again. I also send email to t-mobile, but no feedback so far.
appreciate anyone suggest me. thanks
have nice day to all
make sure when you provide the IMEI is correctly spell, and also whether your phone IMEI (*#06#) and the back of your phone IMEI is the same, and that number is the number that you give to them. I got mine unlock with t-mobile too, my phone IMEI is two number extra more than the one i found from the back but they will figure it out and send me the correct unlocked code.
If the IMEI you provided is correct, then the previous owner nuked the configuration data or entered too many times a wrong code. I would be able to verify and correct that. Drop me a PM and I will make you a reasonable offer.

The code you will get from them will be the same as the one u got from T-Mobile and also the same as I would find for you: there is only one unlock code. However, your problem is that either the simlock data area is corrupted or the prev owner tried to enter unlockcodes too many times. Ah well, tried to explain that already ...

LG G4 "not found suffix"

So I tried to unlock my bootloader for my Lg g4. The device id popped up on adb. I copied and pasted it in the website and gave me a response saying "not found suffix." So what do i do? I heard it was only for the European version but my software says VX10b-EUR-XX. Also my box says made in Korea.
They are all made in Korea. LG is a Korean company. Which G4 model do you have?
You don't have the region specific G4 that LG is allowing to be unlocked. Many of us received the same error when trying to unlock the bootloader.
The hope is that LG will allow all variants of the H815 to be unlocked eventually, but for now - it's only a specific region. Sorry OP!

Are you sure that you are copying the device ID in correctly into the field on the LG site? Make sure that you are not copying the <bootloader> tag. It should be just one long string of letters and numbers.
Also, I'm not sure what the "X" is in your s/w version. Mine is V10c-EUR-XX. Note that it is not VX10, just V10.

Reusing a LG Bootloader unlock.bin token

So my LGG4 is off getting repaired due to the dreaded bootloop issue. Once I have it back I plan on unlocking the Bootloader and rooting again. I have heard issues whereby repaired G4's get the 'DeviceID unmatched' error when applying for a unlock token via the LG website. I understand you can contact LG to get this rectified; however I have found the email from LG I got when I first unlocked the Bootloader, with the unlock.bin file attached.
My question is: Should I run into any DeviceID issues during the unlocking procedure, can I reuse this file to unlock my Bootloader, or do I need to go through the process to get another re-sent? The email details a specific DeviceID so my initial thought is a No, but I did wonder (hope) this number is just used to generate a generic token that is matched via the IMEI? Any help much appreciated.

Lol only reason i knew is cause i came across sam prob a few times now as u can suspect. Ive never heard of any problems with anyone and lg doing this. Should be pretty straight foward. Call em. Might have to goto a higher level of tech service not sure
Im just assuming standard support level is not very supportive lol.
This depends on how they fix your device.
Carphone Warehouse in the UK fixed mine by swapping the mainboard to a 701,
They did not tamper with the IMEI or Device ID's on the replacement board and swapped the sticker under my battery cover to reflect the new details.
I did not need to contact LG as i just requested an unlock for the new IMEI and Device ID Pair.
Hope you get sorted

i was assuming lg done his i didnt even know aftermarket companys did the repair authorized of coarse
they had to pull the device id off of the old one and program it to the new one so technicly they did tamper with it
they may have been able to pull the info from the imei i dont know but my note 5s device id changes from rom to rom sometimes and i have to update it with the company who unlocked it so it holds same imei
just trying to wrap my head around how they got uree bootlooped devices id as it can be changed even if iemi stays the same

I got a new IMEI and Device ID and just went through the unlock proceedure again with this new info.
Thats what i meant by them not tampering with it, I got a new device with my old casing/screen.
They did not transfer my IMEI or Device ID to the new board.
CPW are authorised on behalf of LG to repair the device and since i bought it from them it was easier/safer for me to take it into a store.

First, delete the post where you posted the whole number. You should not put the whole number out there.
It's starts with a 35, so it is not one that was bought directly from Google. Those are the ones that are for sure unlockable.
If that phone came from EE, contact them. If it is not stolen and the contract is done they will unlock it. If it came from Verizon you won't be able to unlock it.

Verizon Mobile Getting Bootloader Unlocked

Hi, I lost my Pixel 2 xl last week from my pocket. and bought a used one from a local shop here in Pakistan . Later when I tried to unlock bootloader , I found out it was a verizon model and I can't unlock it no matter what.
I just wanted to know that if I get the IMEI changed of this device, Will I be able to get the bootloader unlocked?? as the imei is the part which recognizes it as a verizon model
As far as I understand, verizon encrypts their bootloader and imei has nothing to do with that... Please correct me if I'm wrong.
AFAIK there is no hope of having a Verizon variant Pixel 2 XL with an unlocked bootloader.
I do know that several people have purchased "unlocked" devices only to find out the "unlocked" referred to their ability to be used on any carrier network; NOT to have the bootloader unlocked.

Thanks a ton for your reply. But that's what the issue is.. I have no idea whether the imei is related to it or not? that is my basic question if someone else can help me out

No, they are not related. You can google it if you'd like. Unlocking or relocking the bootloader will have no effect on the IMEI number. However, changing the IMEI number is considered illegal in several countries. So check your local regulations before you attempt to do so.

Thankyou . Well Yes it is illegal in my country too but I thought I could take the help of local police for that. but I guess after your reply it's useless to change the IMEI number
