Hello guys,
I haven't ordered my oneplus 5t yet as there seem to be little things that irritate me including the fact that the navigation buttons seem to be very close to each other. Is there a way to make them expand a bit more (preferably without the help of a 3rd party app)?
Thank you very much.
No :good:
I couldn't find a way yet. Frustrating
I dont have the phone but Im 100% sure you can customise it and have them on the left side, right side of the screen and even expand them.
Excited to get mine in a few days

Nope, I've received my phone 3 days after launch and there is currently no way.
The only thing you can do is swap the back a recents buttons, no expanding them.
While reading about this after getting the phone I don't find the spacing much of an issue. For one handed usage it works where they're at.
In fact, i think it's very much possible to put a spacing, or even change them.

You have to read yourself, since i don't have time to explain all the steps.

Im brand new to HTC products im usually the galaxy guy and the ATT rep convinced me that the ONE M8 would be the way to go today since my S4 got stolen last night ... however i am generally pleased with the device i was wondering if anyone else has issues with the keyboard in portrait orientation. Long story short the HIGHLY used keys on the left side of my keyboard will not recognize my input using my left thumb... i have to literally take my right thumb across the device to input the E, R, T, and sometimes even S keys... is this something I am doing wrong or does anyone else have issues like this ( seems like its almost not sensitive enough to read the input or something i can hit it 100 times with my left thumb and nothing but hit it once with my right and it takes it )... When i turn to landscape to type it seems to do alright but my habits usually keep me in portrait so this is a real irritant if you can imagine. Any thoughts at all or anyone else have a fix for this? Considering returning to the store tomorrow to explain my grievance. Side note... I have tried different keyboards from the play store with the same issue... :crying:
Sounds like a defective left thumb.

sounds like a defective device.
Dinstall screen touch test from play, it will show every touch point on you phone. Seems like you have a defective digitizer.

Someone told me that the M8 has a very active screen all the way to the edges... i think ive figured out that its my fat hands that are rolling onto the screen somewhere while trying to type text messages causing the device not to recognize my input. The way i hold the device i guess is the issue because even during calibration it gave me issues with the left sided letters.... so i guess i have to either find a new way to hold the device or get some kind of case to accommodate my fat hands and tight grip on the device .... any tips or tricks on how to hold these things when texting to keep my hands off the screen? I tend to hold the device more in my palms than fingers for safety im a bit clumsy and i think thats the issue.
Hey guys,
Bought my tab today and now recognised that the homebutton is fine at all, but when u really light pressing it (for me on the right half side), there is a noise/sound appearing...
Anyone else can confirm that it's not just mine?
CHEERS
EDIT: As more as I checking this, I also see that the homebutton is quite a bit like more left than the cut in case seems to...
I'm talking about less than millimeters, but like I said, I don't want to have a "monday-product"

Same here, seems a bit loosy.
Tad bit of play. I wouldn't worry about it.
My home button is solid and perfectly placed. No idea what you guys are seeing.
Thanks guys for reply.
I decided to give it back and ordered a new one now. @sobge: U r the first one who confirms this in anyway. Maybe we both just to "perfectly" in this case or having a not as good one as the others.
Anyway we'll see and if it's still on new one, I'll just try to ignore it (even it's very hard for me personally )
Thanks guys
UPDATE: No problems here with my new Tab, so this seems to was a 'bad modell' then.
I have ordered the S6 as of now but im concerned about the battery life with that phone, I would consider the G4 but i have small hands and i am not sure this will be comfortable especially with one handed use. I tried to look in stores at it but because the cable its attached to in a store and not being able to hold it freely i couldnt really judge.
Any opinions on this?

I have huge hands and still use these on every phone/tablet.

I wouldn't say my hands are relatively large and I was concerned about this too, however with a little bit of adjusting I can manage very well with this. Pretty much if you can manage well with 5 inch phone you could most likely do it with a 5.5 inch phone. It will be a bit different at first yes, you might think it was a bad idea yes, but you'll adjust and find how to use it properly. At least I did. Also in terms of battery life, G4 > S6, if you were like me your S6 will have a battery bug involving cellular data that will require you to charge it 2-3 times a day, more if you have more usage than I did. However with the G4 you can get a second battery and even a third or a super large battery like the Zerolemon battery coming out soon and you'll be set for days. I personally love the G4 so far and thats coming from an S6.
I had the same concern. Actually, I prefer this now to my S4 bc I love the back volume button. It's much easier with my small hands, imo. Also, rather than slide my hands up the phone to hit the power on button I simply double tap the screen. The stock phone dialer allows you to resize and move the buttons. See my attached pic.
lol did people with LARGE hands not read this headline?
Anywho, I have smaller hands but I still love this phone. I'd go bigger if I could too.
I have average sized hands, and I'd say the G4 is too large for me. I had the G3 and I told myself I wouldn't get a phone larger, but when the G4 came out I decided to get it anyways. It is and feels much larger than the G3, and it's difficult to use one handed for me.
Everyone's experience is different (even with the same size hands). I'd say the best way to find out is to go try it in the store. Run to your local Verizon or T-Mobile store. They usually have live models you can play with.

+1, even if they don't have a unit on display they'll sometimes allow you to try one from the storage section of the store, at least if you pretend you're interested in purchasing one haha.
G4

Couple questions. Can anyone move their home button at all vertically? Mine does slightly only on the left side. Also if I just barely push/click it on the very right corner of the button I can make it click without a response however if I push it with normal force on the right it responds like normal. I can't do this on the very left side/corner. That side is very sensitive and if I barely touch it it responds. The feel/sound is a little different when I push the right side too. It's definitely a tighter fit on that side.
I'm wondering if I should go through the hassle of trying to get a replacement because of this. My s6 had a bad wobbly loose home button and it was annoying. I ordered my phone through Verizon customer service through an upgrade. If I want them to send me a new one they have to charge me $200 again and then when I send one back I have to wait 10 days for a refund.. And the closest Verizon store is almost 2 hours away
I'm also hesitant to swap bcuz first charge on this one and I'm already getting over 6 hours on screen time and I haven't even disabled any bloatedware yet. It however does have the gap/light leak all around but apparently majority of them have that. Advice? What would you do in my position? Thanks guys... Wish I could just get a perfect device for once.
I'm really picky about my phone's so yes I would go through the hassle to switch it out but that's me. Mine is tight doesn't move and always responds.
Recently noticed that I have burn in from the navigation and status bars. It's mild enough that I only notice it if I'm looking for it.
Is it worth sending my phone, which has no other issues, and getting some random refurbished one as a replacement? Won't it just happen again?
The only benefit I can think of is maybe ending up with a fresh battery.
After 1 year of usage, I only see a faint whiteness in place of navigation bar(not status bar). I think it is normal(I wish not) because of nature of amoled, it will burn when you left your phone with black navigation bar(when it is not translucent) for long time especially when it is hot. But ofc if you can replace easily it would be good, but danger of refurbished or other defected device I think it would be just another headache and not worth it .
i constantly check my phone for burn in, and when i see it this is what i do.
download "amoled burn in fixer"
tick navigation and status bar burn in
turn brightness all the way up (i enable high brightness in EX kernel)
and then run the inversion as the app suggest.
I sent mine in a while back, got a new device and same thing has happened to this device. I'm just going to have to live with it.
I sent mine in today for burn in (Verizon Model). It started fairly mild but it's gotten to the point where the nav buttons really bothered me. I hope I get a unlocked one back.
what i do to avoid burn in, is set immersive mode to come on whenever im using my browser (chrome). This should help the pixels refresh and prevent burn in.
edit:you also dont have to be rooted or unlocked to do this, which is a plus.
Also, the suggestion above regarding amoled screen burn in fixer does work. i did it with a used Nexus 6 i had purchased. I would run that, then set immersive mode like i suggested. if within a month or 2 you still notice bad burn in, i say you make a claim on the warranty. Might as well use it before it runs out.
It was worth it for me. They had me send in the phone only, and they sent me back a brand new one, in the box, with all the accessories.
