does AKT (advanced kernel tweaks) work for mi 5s? - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

I was wondering if anyone's tried akt for the mi5s from https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/advanced-interactive-governor-tweaks-t3476589
This seems like it would be fantastic if it works

Yes, this is work on MI5S, but use this how you have the oneplus 3T.

I don't know how well they work. The optimization for cpu, the little cores, fail if you pay attention while you run akt. It just says, when trying to apply, to set my cpu frequency to default and rerun akt. Of course the frequency is at default.

Would changing the frequency of the cpu to that of the oneplus 3t fix this? mi5s has 2.15ghz while op3t has 2.35 so would changing the value to match it make a difference? Im currently in the process of backing up all my stuff so I could try out rr rom with this mod so ill be able to try to see how it all works for myself.

You're talking about the big cores frequency. Akt works for the big cores from what I saw. It doesn't want to apply for the little ones. The little ones have a frequency of 1.6ghz if I'm not mistaken.

The nagatobimaru LOS 14.1 kernel is not working good with AKT. The CPU frequencies stays in the maximum all the time

AFAIK AKT doesn't support schedutil cpu governor used in Guyver EAS kernel, AKT modifications are done to interactive governor amongst a few other kernel tweeks.
If you want to use AKT profiles don't use an EAS enabled kernel.

How i can get the best battery life?

Hello all, I have now ics mooded with stock kernel.
With gb i can get better battery? Or better with ics? What roms and what kernel?
Ty for helps
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2
it depends on the governer and kernel you are using and what your rom supports
i know, i just want to know a best combination ej: doomlord ics kernel + arconium ics +bb70 now i have this, cause is the best i test
sorry for bad english
I heard that for arconium,it is best to use the stock kernel.Battery life's better.
well i just use the stock kernel of ICS im using mooded 100.0.And the battery life is good

Bit with stock kernel i can't undervolt, now with doomkernel i have 1,6 GHz with undervolt and work better for me

Yes!! It's true, DooMLoorD kernel v4 makes auto-undervolting and the voltage at 1.6Ghz is lower than the stock kernel 1.4Ghz.

How add 245Mhz cpufreq on arcknight kernel RC_3.3 OC?

Good afternoon, I would like to know how to manually add more CPU frequencies of the kernel arcknight RC_3.3 OC as the frequency of 245Mhz and others, without having to switch to kernel 3.5.1 OC. It is possible to edit a file? Anyone know? Sorry the bad english. Thank you.
Hi, any reason for not switching to 3.5.1?
Try the Apple no-frills CPU control. There you can select e.g. 245 MHz.
Cheers, sumpfhun

You must edit frequency table of the kernel, maybe is better to ask to Jimbo how to do this step...

I tried, but nofrills only use the frequences of kernel. Not let add more frequencies.

Or you can use the non oc version, it have 245mhz

Undervolting our Note 3:

I think that could be a good idea to post the lower voltages that are stable for our devices.
And post the CPU bin for see how much it affects the voltages.
Binning info can be found at /d/acpuclk/pvs_bin
PD: I can't post mine yet...
Why cant you post yours yet?

Mine is 3. Can this be changed to 4 for an undervolt without custom kernel? And what is the "boost_UV"? That has value of 0.

I have the same values.
And not, the binning can not be change, cause it is a hardware "problem".

From my understanding if you have a 3 you are good to go. Pvs is from 0 to 6. I have 0 which is the worst one. It is very sensitive to over clocking and especially under volting. The higher the better. Right?

i've been running uv at -75mv across the board @ bin 3. -100mv and i rebooted in less than 5 mins. if i don't have any problems with this i am probably not going to push it. even though i haven't been into modding and stuff the last year android is so good i only go after battery life really. all about stability more than anything really. eager to see what bin 5 and 6's get though.
Thats awesome. I havent uved yet im waiting for Trickster mod to get updated so I can use it. Its my fav kernel app. I know I can use others like set cpu, ad tuner, etc. I just love trickster. Im sure at -5 ill be rebooting with my big 0. Lol I feel the same way tho Sammy did an awesome job with this phone aside from all the bugs speed and stability wise. Im just looking for battery, stability and smoothnes now.

Set CPU not working for voltages BTW. Actually I am very disappointed with Samsung on this round of touchwiz. On the international note2 there was black theming everywhere, a looot less bugs and I am still running 4.1.1 because battery is so much better than .2 update. This 4.3 has white theming everywhere, lots of frustrating bugs, specially for T-Mobile WiFi call users and I guess coming from int'l note2 the battery easily smokes the note3. I didn't have LTE so all the users saying battery life is much better are coming from USA LTE note2's and running 4.1.2. The int'l note2 felt so optimized. And the tabbed settings drive me up the wall, especially because you can't swipe between tabs. I hope Samsung comes through with some good updates. Still love the phone though. Samsung needs to get on software nav button bandwagon already and stop copying apple. They've left apple in the dust and it's apparent their balls are getting much bigger with the region lock and id chips they're fixing to put in accessories. What is next?

Lol...I actually havent had any bugs to speak of, wifi and everything else has been working as it should. Im also pretty happy with my battery getting 36hrs with 6.5 screen time and using it moderately. My n2 I had everything blacked out including all of my apps from TBO but on this phone I actually like the white themeing. Its different for a change. We have plenty of awesome themers here on xda that will take care of that anyway. I guess its a matter of preference and taste. I guess I got lucky with my unit as I see a lot of issues and variation between these new n3s. Im pretty sure most of it will be resolved in future updates and great roms.

Good point. Custom kernels will have different voltage values per mhz out of the box. So a starting point is really needed for comparing purposes.

No. Not custom kernels. Different PVS values will have different voltage table. I think I am @640/950 for my 300/2300mhz currently. Add 75mv to my current values and mine are running @ 715/1025mv stock.

Parking CPU Cores

Hi I'm currently running the CM 12.1 ROM and I have noted a few people suggest parking a couple of cpu cores to help battery life. The feedback is that this does in fact improve battery life without any performance issues.
My question is how do you park cores on the zenfone 2 is there an app or some other way to do this.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't used CM on the ZenFone, but you could try using kernel auditor for tweaking various things.

[Rr&D] Kernel features

What custom features would you like to see from my kernel? TYPE BELOW

Hey mate, thanks for your effort! I would like a custom kernel to have control over the MT6753 CPU, and get the clocks up to 1,5 GHz as it originally was, if it's possible. Control over the number of active cores would also be great, because 8 cores active is just useless. I'd rather have 4 cores running at 1,5 GHz than 8 at 1,3 GHz.
Lenovo probably downclocked the CPU to increase battery life. If it's possible, control over the Mali T720MP3 GPU would be nice as well. Thank you very much, let's hope these features are possible!

I think the cpu clock is hardware locked. Active number of cores is possible, mediatek's hotplug is bad so the phone will maybe run better on 4 cores only then 8. Not sure about gpu

All we need for the cpu is a good hotpluging driver
Sent from my K4 Note using XDA Labs
Too bad then. Yep, it's really bad driver.I use Kernel Adiutor and powersave governor, and the clocks I set (min and max) do not stick, they variate by themselves. Is it possible to fix the clocks with a custom kernel with a new hotplug driver? Thank you again.

The hotplug driver is responsible for shutting down and powering up the cpu cores, the Governor is responsible for switching frequencies of the cores. And my clocks in kernel adiutor stick.
