Hello all, I have now ics mooded with stock kernel.
With gb i can get better battery? Or better with ics? What roms and what kernel?
Ty for helps
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2

it depends on the governer and kernel you are using and what your rom supports

i know, i just want to know a best combination ej: doomlord ics kernel + arconium ics +bb70 now i have this, cause is the best i test
sorry for bad english

I heard that for arconium,it is best to use the stock kernel.Battery life's better.

well i just use the stock kernel of ICS im using mooded 100.0.And the battery life is good

Bit with stock kernel i can't undervolt, now with doomkernel i have 1,6 GHz with undervolt and work better for me
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2

Yes!! It's true, DooMLoorD kernel v4 makes auto-undervolting and the voltage at 1.6Ghz is lower than the stock kernel 1.4Ghz.

Hello
This is a great tool

which are the best ROM for arc/arcs xperia mod/arconium/cm7

hey guys any idea which is best for you?
The best stock based ROM is imo Acronium, but I like CM7 more.
Sent from my LT18i using xda premium
nice love CM7 too
Stock+tweaks is the best! Since you can utilize all features of your phone with stock only! Hence acronium or xperia mod gets my vote. Both of them are nearly identical since they are based on stock ROM.
What's better:
xperia mod or arconium?
Just tried arconium and I'm liking it so far.

My vote is for se-tweaked

No the best ROM is SE Tweaked 0.8.5 compaed to any other stock or custom build. Team it with Doomkernel and you have a superb lag free fast phone.. For me CM always appeared dull compared to the stock ROMs. And typical to any CM ROM it had missing features and poor battery.

which one of these ROMs holds longer battery life ?

With cm you also cant use the keyboard in landscape properly without hammering the space bar key which is pretty retarded imo. Also the camera sucks. Im on stock with doom kernel personally. I had a look at arconium but couldn't really see any benefit over stock rom same with xperia mod. Might give se tweaked a go though.
what about stock .62 ? anyone used it ?
Which are the best ROM for battery??? Arconium, xperiamod or se tweaked??? Only expert please and one reason thanks

I have used Arconium with doomlord kernel for few weeks now. Very good battery usage in my average use (2 days usualy). I tested few roms and always went back to stock, before I found Arconium.
SoftWhite MIUI! I love it!
i Use FXP104 an i love it, the only think i dont like is that the batterie lasts not very long
my vote for Arconium with DooMKernel
..fast, no lags, and battery drain is excellent
I'm happy with stock 042 but I'm thinking to give a try to Arconium....
Do it
I regret that I waited till I tried it, it's AWESOME!

can any of these roms be installed on a rooted & recovery installed but LOCKED BOOTLOADER Arc S?? reason i ask is that i used to use a W8 & i didnt unlock bootloader on that but i was still able to flash custom roms in it......i m really very apprehensive about unlocking bootloader in case i brick it or something

Fastest Rom for Arc?

Wich is the fastest combination of kernel+rom for arc?
Thank you!

I'm using cm7.2 fxp115 of FXP and it's very fast and recommended
I havent arc, but xplay is similar. I can recommend u cm7 with doomkernel for cm7 (im using one for stock and its really fast after oc to 1.21 ghz) or arconium and doomkernel for stock.
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v11 (1.21ghz)
I'm using CM9 with FXP kernel, fastest ROM I've ever used. It's even faster with DoomKernel ICS, but the WiFi doesn't work.
Miui is the best, ics is very bug slow xd

CM7, Arconium 8 or MIUI(DiMiui or G-MIUI. They're Gingerbread roms both).
I don't recommend ICS yet because Sony hasn't released the code yet. There are some decent ICS roms though, but I'd wait.
Blend miui is better

doomkernel+Xperia Mod 6 gives best combination of performance and battery life if you ask me.

Yup i have this setup and it is amazing
I've tested pretty much all the roms available for the arc.
Fastest ones IMO are:
GB: Acronium 8.1
ICS: JJ's Hybrid Rom V4
I'm using JJ's Hybrid Rom V4 atm and the speed and responsiveness for an ICS rom is amazing. Also it's really lite.

I agree that the battery life isn't amazing with JJ's ICS rom, but for me the battery lasts for about 36 hours (latest leaked ICS kernel and settings changed with no-frills cpu control) with moderate use (no games or streaming videos). About 12 hours less then a good GB rom but that's ok with me. As long as it can last at least a whole day without charging.

[Q] What kernel is better?

Hello all, i just unlock my bootloader and installed Doomkernel but i want to know what is better, Doomkernel or trinity kernel, also i installed ICS:4.0.4}MooDeD ICS 90.1
This same question has been asked like 100 times..why dont you use search button?
Seriously, use the search.
And the answer is purely subjective. But if you still want to see what users prefer? Do a search. There are polls etc.
But each developer constantly updates and improves his/her kernel.
Your best bet would be to try them all out.

I used, and it displays to me questions from year 2011, also with ics has many changes each kernel
Enviado desde mi LT18i usando Tapatalk 2
Go through each kernel's thread. You'll get the general feedback of how users find it.

I can recommend SirKay's Kernel, smooth, and good battery life.
simple for starter : Stock Kernel w/ CWM
Thanks all! I was reading about Trinity kernel and sounds very good,
I think I'll try it

going back to GB but..

Absolutely, Lupus GB Kernel + Xperia NXT by KrisDee...
Would that be the lite or full flavored version?
I prefer lite, but it doesn't really matter much
I stay on ics but with my own mod. Neo L ics ported to markphyton final ics without tweak just update the adreno driver on advance stock kernel, its perfect.

Differences between custom kernel

Hi, i'm new to galaxy w world, and i'm reading about custom kernel (castagnaI, forfivos and hadi), but i'm not sure on what is better for my phone...
is there any comparison chart, or similiar, that can help users choosing? I mean, there are so many variables to take in consideration, like RAM, voltage and battery life, hd video recording and so on..and it's difficult for a newbie to get to the point, if you know what i mean
I think castagnaI has a great one, but his latest release gave us more ram by losing 720p recording. Hadi's kernel is also great, but the version that he posted with more ram anda working camera got a few reports that day it is not so stable(I use it and it is GREAT). Forvivo has the best JB kernel and a good ICS kernel.
Sent from my GT-I8150
So, to have a good mem and a working camera (720p i mean), you suggest hadi's kernel? What about forvivo for ICS? I'm running latest CM9
Forfivo ICS is stopped I guess. But if you want to, experiment around with his v3 and v1.
You may wanna keep a copy of v1 in your memory card because so far I used its the most stable kernel for everyday usage, but certainly not gaming needs.
To my opinion I don't think I'll capture any precious moments using my phone. SD quality is far more than enough for me to store in my phone if needed, so a little sacrifice is okay. But maxmem is just abit off, unless you don't mind using a few mins to swap flash everytime between your game time and afterso.

i confirm this issue too. after using my kernel for a day the packet data is sometime "lost". maybe this is due to SFB (i think), because after building a test kernel with reverted network scheduler the packet data problem is definitely fixed.
castagna's is great one, i used it about a month and it fits my needs of battery life. but beware that in some hardware extreme UV maybe unstable
forfivo's ics kernel gives nice stability. somepeople prefer v1 over v2 or v3. for the JB kernel you are given choice of bigmem ram and stock stock ram. bigmem sacrifice HD playback and recording for bigger RAM(better multitasking)
overall i still love my own kernel(i don't mean to promote my own kernel and discredit other kernel). i set my own clock freq to 1GHz and phone still runs very smooth which means more battery life for me and cpu governor perfectly fits the daily needs
Thanks for your complete answers!
My need is for a smooth and fast phone, with much of is hardware features available, a minimum daily battery life, and some good multitasking. I'm not so interested in gaming.... With this conditions, what I should test?

you can test castagna or forfivo's first. i am quite aware that my kernel will not be good for internet (at least for the latest release with sfb activated, need time to test everything for next release )

If you don't game, a good suggestion is to use hadi's or castagnal's bigmem, with no HD recording.
Then underclock max frequency to around 1ghz. Your battery life will be obviously prolonged
btw, connection problem in my kernel has been fixed i guess
having clock 1GHz is enough for me, that quite prolong my battery life

I'm not a gamer, but I like hd recording. I'd like to use all the stuff of this phone. Maybe I could wait until hadi's fixed kernel is out. In the meantime, I could underclock to 1ghz to save battery life.
How can I see the amount of ram that kernel made available, from the phone?

hmm you can try the one "my own config" or "hadiconfig" it has 376-377 available RAM with hd recording working. i've been using this config for about 4days but still nothing goes wrong to my phone

Go to Settings, About Phone(most likely the last option)
There will be a section about how many ram you have.
I've 352MB of ram available. 20/40mb would improve performance and multitasking significantly?
What governor is better with 1Ghz?
Inviato dal mio GT-I8150 con Tapatalk 2
for me it's quite good for multitasking
i tweaked lulzactive and smartassv2. i'm quite sure lulzactive has a good prospect as one of the smoothest and most battery saving governor. if you are unsure you can use smartassv2
if i am a gamer n also wan some basic multitasking use,can any 1 suggest a kernal for me?i am now using forfivo bigmen kernal,it is good, but i hope can get the smooth n best kernal for gaming~

The way you type, its assumed you're using JB. Use forfivo v2. For now JB does not have alot of kernel developers. Or you can try hadi's JB kernel for gaming purposes.

Go to CWM wipe cache/dalvik cache, Flash the kernel then reboot. Some kernels don't need wiping, the dev will write when it doesn't need
