Hi all,
I got my Nexus Prime today. I'm quite impressed, but it has a problem that's driving me mad.
When I first turned on my handset and entered my Google username it tried to download all the old apps from my previous Android handsets - I didn't ask it to nor did I want it to! Anyway, this failed part way through and none of the apps actually installed.
Since owning this device a few hours ago I cannot install anything through the Android market at all. I keep getting told that the download failed due to an error, but nothing further.
I've tried rebooting the handset but nothing appears to be able to be downloaded.
I can download from other sources, for example I downloaded the Swype installer and that installed fine, from the Swype website (Swype states it's not compatible with this handset!)
I'm not sure if this is a general bug or if there's something wrong with my individual handset but it would be interesting to see if anyone else has this problem?
Hi I had this problem too, unfortunately clearing cache and data from Market doesn't do anything (at least for me), I had to do a factory reset, worked for me and my friend who also had the same problem.
Damn, after an evening of customising my handset I was hoping not to have to do that.
So it appears we've discovered an issue with this handset.
Yep, that fixed it.
Annoying though..............

The way to avoid that is by skipping the initial guide and then att your account in settings instead. I agree that they should just ask you instead but the above way has worked ever since that feature was intruduced in 2.2.
Sorry for the bump but I'm having the exact same issue.
Just rooted the phone and after all apps were restored I tried downloading apps and keep getting that error.
I already did a factory reset several times and nothing. Just tried skipping the setup and adding my google accounts later but I'm still getting the same error :X
Anyone has any idea how to fix this problem? Do I have to return my phone?
It's been driving me crazy..

I seem to have managed to fix this now. I popped my sim into my old android phone, I noticed that the apn settings being used on old phone are different to those GN has setup by default for my network provider. I just copied those through to the new phone and market works again . Hope this helps someone.
Having the same issue also. I'm on Telus in Canada and the APN settings are the same on my old phone. I have done a factory reset and am still having this issue. Please help!
Are you guys rooted? If you are it could be the ROM your using?

Or just let it restore, and wait. It can take hours, let it do its thing. By tomorrow will be working again.

You are right. It's the weirdest problem I've seen but somehow it just fixed itself.. Apps install fine now (too bad I didn't know that before doing a million factory resets and deleting my settings)
Figured it out. I had to clear the proxy address in my apn settings

seems my Service Provider's settings where blocking downloads esp the Proxy... hmmmm
I've had this problem since yesterday, Market wont download over wifi or data network, messages 'Error while processing payment' or '... could not be downloaded due to error'
I'm running a stock GSM nexus and have tried clearing the market data and rebooting but no luck, I'd rather not have to do a factory reset if I can avoid it.
Any ideas anyone?
Is anyone else seeing the error message "Unfortunately Bluetooth has Stopped" pop up repeatedly, as often as every 1-2 minutes? This happens even when I'm not connected to a BT device. It started happening to me yesterday and it's driving me crazy.
Checking logcat, I see these messages: pastebin. I was wondering if it's a manifestation of the bug in this article at Android Police, but surely that has been fixed by now? I'm presently unrooted and totally stock so I'm thinking a factory reset might be my only option, unless someone can suggest something else?
Yes!
Exactly the same thing. Driving me nuts.
I've tried to trace to an app but no luck.
Also totally stock, unrooted.
(Telstra Australia image).
Have been putting off reset as long as I can.
I see you are in Oz also.. are you running Telstra stock image?
I spoke to their online 'help'.. who said that it would be an LG issue and to talk to them.. confirming that they believe LG are responsible for all the QA on their image.
I'm going to factory reset... and see what happens.
No, I have the international H815. I've had it for a couple of months and this just started happening yesterday.
Do you perchance have Garmin Connect installed, and talking to a Garmin device?
hmm... no.. I don't... (this sounds like a game of Guess Who).
My son was getting the same problem on his S3.. but associated it with Spotify. Once he uninstalled the app, the problem went away.
I did have Spotify... but uninstalling did nothing.
Just went through phone looking for 'bluetooth' stuff. Have uninstalled Fitbit, LG Health, IFTTT,
All smart settings are off.
Restarted,,, waiting for error.
I'm suspecting it will work ok... for a while.
I'm now wondering if this is a manifestation of this problem, as the OP was getting the same message in his log as I am seeing. If so this is pretty grim. I use the phone to listen to music and podcasts in the car all the time, so if this is going to keep happening then it's severely impacting my use of this phone. I guess we can only hope that LG come good with a software update that will address this, unless someone else has a workaround?
I'm also having the same problem, I cannot seem to pin it to a specific app. I've tried clearing the Bluetooth cache and even a complete factory reset and I am still getting the same issue, if someone has a fix please post it's driving me crazy

Did your phone do it from Day 1 or did it just start doing it at some random point in time?
Also, when you did a factory reset did you perchance use LG backup or something to save your settings?

Yes it's done it since day one when I got it (about a week ago) once I did a factory reset I set it up as a new phone and downloaded my apps from the play store, the only thing I didn't try was streaming music without any apps installed and just using Google play music to steam music via Bluetooth, without doing that it's hard to tell if it's a lg issue or a 3rd party app that is causing it

Me too, though SGS5 handset, and only started yesterday morning.
Telstra Australia image, stock unrooted, cleared blue tooth cache and data, removed all paired devices, removed battery....still no joy
Would be great to hear if anyone has found a way to resolve.
Thanks

have you guys maybe trackID installed? for me bluetooth was off but i had this problem that bluetooth has stopped and uninstalling trackID solved it.
maybe i could help you
No TrackiD for me.
I seem to be able to make the error appear when I'm scrolling down Facebook news feed.
No error when Bluetooth is off.. but that's not an option for how I use my phone.
I don't have TrackID installed either.
I did a factory install last night and let my apps reinstall overnight. I'm not getting the error this morning and was able to drive to work listening to podcasts with no disconnections. So it's "fixed", for now at least, though I fully expect that it will return at some point in the future.
If I do a factory reset will I lose root? Thanks in advance

Bit the bullet and did a factory reset last night, problem solved.
Appears it was a Telstra update that has caused the problem to several brands of phones.
were you rooted?
I want to do a factory reset but I'm rooted and don't want to lose it.
thanks

No, I was on stock Telstra modified firmware
use logcat to track the issue, it can be caused by bad data from apps, usually if you wipe the data it can be solved
try clear the bluetooth settings, it can be corrupt data
Factory reset, and restored from full LG Backup.
Haven't seen the issue for a couple of days.
I had this problem and found out the cause was Spotify, I uninstalled it and re-installed it and havent seen the issue for over a week now
The problem came back after a couple of weeks.. and is just constant.. even when factory reset back to stock and no apps installed.
Rooted phone. Froze 'Android Staten Webview'...believe issue resolved.
"Google has stopped" messages are driving me mad, had it for quite a while and assumed a fix would roll out as I report it every time.
Have tried Force Stop and clear cache and data on every Google app I can find, including Chrome.
One of the solutions I saw online was a factory reset, but rather try everything else first.
Anyone had the same and resolved it without a factory reset?
Redmi Note 5 Pro, not rooted, running Android 8.1 and Miui 9.6
Tia.
Same phone same issue, just drive 200 miles with the pop up coming up every 15 minutes on sat Nov, very annoying!
Also noticed "ok Google" isn't working via voice command anymore
Yep, can overlook pop-ups while it's in my hands, but car cradle and Waze is a real ball ache.
I don't use Ok Google.
What have you tried to fix it?

Only reboot and quick Google search so far, kids are keeping me busy atm. If you find fix please let me know though!
Fwiw was working fine the other day and nothing major had been updated, infact the only updates were Google drive and calender two days ago so not sure what's caused it.
Same issue here after updating to MIUI 9.6
I've been having the exact same error ever since I updated to Android Oreo a few days ago but on a Redmi 5 Plus device :/
same issue
only i haven't done any update as I was running on mobile data only. reported to miui but they want additional information because they cannot reproduce the issue
Excluding Google app from battery saving should solve this issue, at least for me it worked!
Hi, which Google app exactly, half my problem is I don't know which "Google app has stopped", what needs to be changed?

Google voice assistant, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox&hl=en
Just exclude from battery saving.
I don't use that app and my Battery Saving mode is off above 60%.
Just got another Google has stopped as I type and charge on 96%, so I don't know whats causing this.
Uninstall the updates to Google app. Something is causing this, I was getting this on Pixel Experience 8.1 as well, until I rolled back to prior version. Same for Android Messages, screen would just flicker black and would not open app properly until i rolled back to previous app version.
Thanks. Bro It works for me a simple updale

Any suggestions how to fix this sh1t without factory resetting?
Huh, thought I was the only one. This keeps happening to me as well. One way I stopped it for a bit was clearing the cache for the settings app. Although you have to be quick before it crashes and makes it near impossible to do so. Unfortunately I think this has to do with the latest update. Just out curiosity, what model do you have?

You may reboot to safe mode and settings become to work without bugs. But all other programs don't start. After reboot settings work, about 1 minute. Then, I presume some program starts into memory and crashes settings. I can't point to which one, and if it's 3rd party or stock service.
Do you have app named SRTC? Can't remember such app out of the box. maybe it' virus? but it's system and can't be uninstalled

Probably it is a new app that you have installed recently or an update or an app. Try to reset the phone in safe mode, if the problem persist is a system app problem. If you don't want to reset the phone try re-flashing the last kdz and if it doesn't work do a factory reset.
I've had this issue for months. If you have a 3rd party launcher, make a shortcut to the search bar of settings. I use Activities with Nova Launcher
There's an app in the play store that will get you into settings made specifically for this issue.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=simple.settings
I search xda and Reddit to see if anyone experienced random reboots with pixel 3xl. I haven't seen anyone post anything similar.
I'm on the latest Jan 5 2019 firmware and haven't installed anything new over the past month. I'm getting random reboots while reading the news on google assistant, google news, camera, installing google play updates, Gmail, settings....basically anything if i'm actively using it. if i'm watching a movie or on a call, nothing happens so far. The phone reboots during LTE/Wifi, charging/not charging, safe mode, after factory reset. The phone hasn't been dropped or damaged. So I'm a bit clueless what's going on...
When i say reboot, it's not a full reboot, but quick reboot. The screen turns black and reloads my home screen. It then asks for my pin number since "Pin required after device restarts."
Has anyone else experienced something similar? the phone is being RMA...
Nope.

is the phone getting hot?
any themes installed?
the phone is usually around 76-86 oF and no themes. Just plain vanilla.
Now some of my URL homepage shortcuts and google map shortcuts are nonfunctional.
Is it possible the phone's memory is corrupt or something?
I would try a complete wipe and reinstall and see if it fixes the problem.

already factory reset as part of the condition for RMA, but still observing the issue. Adding a guest user to the phone still causes random reboots.
this is the weirdest bug/defect ...thank god for google's warranty service.
I have the same issue you said. This "little reboot" problem. I'm waiting for the February update , if this doesn't fix nothing I will do a factory reset and if this also doesn't help I will send it to Google.
The only "problem" with this is that I cannot reproduce the problem by my own, so I don't know how to prove that there is indeed a problem in Google . This happens at random times, and not everyday.

You won't have to prove it to Google. You will tell them it reboots. They will ask you to try safe mode and a factory reset When you tell them you already tried that they will exchange it.

i had those "little reboots" that started to occur like once every 3 days, but they occur when the phone was idle. But my "little issues" got worse and they occurred every time i was just browsing the phone. If i use google lens ==> crash. If i read anything on google news/assistant ==> crash. I connected to VPN ==> crash. Open my gmail ==> crash. Browsing chrome ==> crash. I suspected it was related to either a bad Bluetooth or google play service. Neither a full wipe or safety mode fixed the issue. My phone was in perfect condition. Luckily google allowed a RMA.
Never got anything like this since I bought my pixel 2 months ago, I think you should send back your phone to Google right now to ask for a replacement or a refund
If you guys are using ADguard as your dns in private dns settings, then that is the problem. It is the known issue as stated in AD-guard forums and they say it will get fixed soon.
