I search xda and Reddit to see if anyone experienced random reboots with pixel 3xl. I haven't seen anyone post anything similar.
I'm on the latest Jan 5 2019 firmware and haven't installed anything new over the past month. I'm getting random reboots while reading the news on google assistant, google news, camera, installing google play updates, Gmail, settings....basically anything if i'm actively using it. if i'm watching a movie or on a call, nothing happens so far. The phone reboots during LTE/Wifi, charging/not charging, safe mode, after factory reset. The phone hasn't been dropped or damaged. So I'm a bit clueless what's going on...
When i say reboot, it's not a full reboot, but quick reboot. The screen turns black and reloads my home screen. It then asks for my pin number since "Pin required after device restarts."
Has anyone else experienced something similar? the phone is being RMA...
Nope.

is the phone getting hot?
any themes installed?
the phone is usually around 76-86 oF and no themes. Just plain vanilla.
Now some of my URL homepage shortcuts and google map shortcuts are nonfunctional.
Is it possible the phone's memory is corrupt or something?
I would try a complete wipe and reinstall and see if it fixes the problem.

already factory reset as part of the condition for RMA, but still observing the issue. Adding a guest user to the phone still causes random reboots.
this is the weirdest bug/defect ...thank god for google's warranty service.
I have the same issue you said. This "little reboot" problem. I'm waiting for the February update , if this doesn't fix nothing I will do a factory reset and if this also doesn't help I will send it to Google.
The only "problem" with this is that I cannot reproduce the problem by my own, so I don't know how to prove that there is indeed a problem in Google . This happens at random times, and not everyday.

You won't have to prove it to Google. You will tell them it reboots. They will ask you to try safe mode and a factory reset When you tell them you already tried that they will exchange it.

i had those "little reboots" that started to occur like once every 3 days, but they occur when the phone was idle. But my "little issues" got worse and they occurred every time i was just browsing the phone. If i use google lens ==> crash. If i read anything on google news/assistant ==> crash. I connected to VPN ==> crash. Open my gmail ==> crash. Browsing chrome ==> crash. I suspected it was related to either a bad Bluetooth or google play service. Neither a full wipe or safety mode fixed the issue. My phone was in perfect condition. Luckily google allowed a RMA.
Never got anything like this since I bought my pixel 2 months ago, I think you should send back your phone to Google right now to ask for a replacement or a refund
If you guys are using ADguard as your dns in private dns settings, then that is the problem. It is the known issue as stated in AD-guard forums and they say it will get fixed soon.

Here it is in a nutshell: Error 927 on ANY download, any app, any game, be it paid or free, on my Nexus 7 (2013) FHD. I've done the following:
- Cleared the data and cache for the Google Play Store, Download Manager, and Google Services Framework.
- Uninstalled updates for the Google Play Store and Google Services Framework.
- Deleted and re-added my Google account.
- Rebooted.
- Hard reset.
- Downgraded to 4.3 and re-upgraded to 4.4.2.
- Tried to download the apps and games from the Google Play website, and get "An unexpected error has occured. Please try again later."
- Changed the filter and proxy settings on my Cisco router.
- Switched to LTE, and... same thing.
- Created another Google account, and it worked, but I will NOT be forced to re-purchase the apps I've spent nearly $80.00 on over the years, or upload my music collection to Google Music again.
- Reached out to Google for help, and... crickets.
I'm at the end of my rope. If this isn't resolved soon, I'm returning the Nexus to Wal-Mart. I've NEVER had this sort of issue before, even with my first-generation Nexus 7. I've had Android tablets since my Motorola Xoom awhile back. I've ALWAYS had Android tablets. I'd hate to have to abandon Android because of this idiocy, but I may have to do so. I don't want to have to go with Apple for both my smartphone and tablet, but it's starting to look that way.
If anyone has any suggestions that aren't listed above, please, help me out. I love my Nexus 7, but without apps and games, it's pretty worthless.
Thanks in advance.
Normally deleting and adding back the Google account is a solution for Play Store problems, but as you said, you tried that. Some have reported that error 927 is because of a network connection error. How is web browsing? YouTube?

How did you do that? Did you download the 4.3 ROM to flash it? Did you unlock and flash a custom recovery?
When all else fails, flash the stock ROM, especially with your downgrading and upgrading. Google's files include a "flash-all.bat" within that will wipe everything and flash the stock ROM and recovery.

All web browsing and pre-installed apps work just fine. Just any attempts to update those apps, or install any other apps from Google Play, fail with error 927.

I actually have flashed the stock ROMs, from the original 4.3 to 4.4.2, with the exact same results. I've also made certain not to unlock the bootloader and to not root as to recreate the OOB experience as well. At this point, my options are exhausted.

Now I cant even get any Google apps to connect at all. Such as Google plus play store YouTube etc...Google says never heard of it before sorry.

I'm having the exact same problem now for a few days. I called Google support and they are aware of the problem and had no resolution. I was told too bad basically.
Out of curiosity, for those having this issue, did you upgrade to a 4.4.2 ROM?
I updated to stock rooted 4.3 galaxy note 2 Verizon and it happens on all of my gmail accounts too

I have the same problem. Ran across this thread doing a search for the error 927. Running a Verizon HTC One and an LG G Pad 8.3. Both have the same problems, and i too have called Google several times. Their answer was to call HTC. I was livid. I changed my password, but was only a temporary fix until I made a purchase from the Play store. Then the error came back. I realize i am in the Nexus 7 forums but wanted to chime in since the problem is happening to me too. Hopefully Google comes up with a fix. Too much money tied up to just create new account, which does work by the way.
Creating a new account shouldn't even be an option what it the issue happens on the new account? Google just needs to fix it.

Same boat. I did everything the original poster did as well. Called into play store support and eventually got passed off to tier 2 support. Haven't heard anything in over a week.
The issue affects every device I log into with my account. Originally showed rpc:s-7 error, now 927.
Anyone with this problem find a solution? Again, I've done everything the op posted. In the past I've been able to correct the problem. But this time, no go.
Have the same problem... In every device I'm using with my account... 3 tablets, 2 cell phones. Spent more than 400 dollars in apps.. Can't download, nor even update. Always error 927. Changed password and problem persists.. It's obviously a problem with my account.. Wonder what could I do.
Have you tried installing apps from Google Play on a computer?
Hello, just an update...
My problem has gone... Seems it was from google side.
Too bad I had to flash my cel 3 times before I realized it was happening to all my devices.
Don't know if the password change had anything to do with the fix since, at least, it didn't work immediately.
If you encounter the same problem don't panic... give it a little time, hopefully it fixes on its own.
Thank you very much.
Is anyone else seeing the error message "Unfortunately Bluetooth has Stopped" pop up repeatedly, as often as every 1-2 minutes? This happens even when I'm not connected to a BT device. It started happening to me yesterday and it's driving me crazy.
Checking logcat, I see these messages: pastebin. I was wondering if it's a manifestation of the bug in this article at Android Police, but surely that has been fixed by now? I'm presently unrooted and totally stock so I'm thinking a factory reset might be my only option, unless someone can suggest something else?
Yes!
Exactly the same thing. Driving me nuts.
I've tried to trace to an app but no luck.
Also totally stock, unrooted.
(Telstra Australia image).
Have been putting off reset as long as I can.
I see you are in Oz also.. are you running Telstra stock image?
I spoke to their online 'help'.. who said that it would be an LG issue and to talk to them.. confirming that they believe LG are responsible for all the QA on their image.
I'm going to factory reset... and see what happens.
No, I have the international H815. I've had it for a couple of months and this just started happening yesterday.
Do you perchance have Garmin Connect installed, and talking to a Garmin device?
hmm... no.. I don't... (this sounds like a game of Guess Who).
My son was getting the same problem on his S3.. but associated it with Spotify. Once he uninstalled the app, the problem went away.
I did have Spotify... but uninstalling did nothing.
Just went through phone looking for 'bluetooth' stuff. Have uninstalled Fitbit, LG Health, IFTTT,
All smart settings are off.
Restarted,,, waiting for error.
I'm suspecting it will work ok... for a while.
I'm now wondering if this is a manifestation of this problem, as the OP was getting the same message in his log as I am seeing. If so this is pretty grim. I use the phone to listen to music and podcasts in the car all the time, so if this is going to keep happening then it's severely impacting my use of this phone. I guess we can only hope that LG come good with a software update that will address this, unless someone else has a workaround?
I'm also having the same problem, I cannot seem to pin it to a specific app. I've tried clearing the Bluetooth cache and even a complete factory reset and I am still getting the same issue, if someone has a fix please post it's driving me crazy

Also, when you did a factory reset did you perchance use LG backup or something to save your settings?

Yes it's done it since day one when I got it (about a week ago) once I did a factory reset I set it up as a new phone and downloaded my apps from the play store, the only thing I didn't try was streaming music without any apps installed and just using Google play music to steam music via Bluetooth, without doing that it's hard to tell if it's a lg issue or a 3rd party app that is causing it

No TrackiD for me.

No error when Bluetooth is off.. but that's not an option for how I use my phone.
I don't have TrackID installed either.
I did a factory install last night and let my apps reinstall overnight. I'm not getting the error this morning and was able to drive to work listening to podcasts with no disconnections. So it's "fixed", for now at least, though I fully expect that it will return at some point in the future.

No, I was on stock Telstra modified firmware
use logcat to track the issue, it can be caused by bad data from apps, usually if you wipe the data it can be solved
try clear the bluetooth settings, it can be corrupt data
Factory reset, and restored from full LG Backup.
Haven't seen the issue for a couple of days.
I had this problem and found out the cause was Spotify, I uninstalled it and re-installed it and havent seen the issue for over a week now
The problem came back after a couple of weeks.. and is just constant.. even when factory reset back to stock and no apps installed.
Rooted phone. Froze 'Android Staten Webview'...believe issue resolved.
Facebook images on my pixel XL randomly don't load correctly. Basically when I tab a pictures to maximize it nothing happens unless I hit back and try again. Even then it sometimes doesn't work. Occasionally the same thing will happen on Instagram but mostly on FB. Search back in this thread to see if I could find anything but didn't. Does anyone else have this happen? Could it be a ram issue? I'm trying to see if it's worth it to RMA

does this type of issue occur in any other app? have you tried browsing on chrome and seeing if images fail to display properly on it? try browsing a picture heavy site like imgur and see if any of those fail. This will let you know if it's something with the phone in general or something with those two apps.
You shouldn't have to RMA off of that you can always wipe the cache, uninstall/reinstall the app, factory image without wiping. If all that fails to fix that issue then yeah you're going to need to start that exchange process...
Yeah, I've tried everything I can think of. Reinstalling doesn't work. I was running a custom rom and just went back to stock and it seemed to fix the problem but then it just started doing it again.
theycallmerayj said:

It might be a bug with the Facebook app. It might also be that you installed an app that is clashing with Facebook. When you went back to stock did you do a full flash of the stock image or cheat by keeping your user data? If you did the latter you might want to do a full flash where your phone starts off completely clean. If you did the former and already started out clean you might want to contact Pixel support and see if they have any ideas.
Another possibility is to do a factory reset. I'm not sure if Facebook comes on the phone by default or not. If it does don't install any of your downloaded apps and see if the Facebook app problem returns. If it doesn't download your apps one at a time until you figure out which one is causing the problem.

Okay, thanks. That's what I was thinking. After talking to my gf she said her Pixel does the same thing. I probably won't bother trying to rma since I'm unlocked on Verizon
Pixel slow to load Twitter pics
I just got my pixel 2 XL Twitter pics are barely loading after unintall and reinstall no better. WiFi is good on all other apps. Current update uninstalled.
There are a couple of threads on this already here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/help/experiencing-random-restarts-t3895706
and here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-2-xl/help/soft-rebooting-multiple-times-day-t3887222
but I felt that the issue needed a thread title which clearly spelled out the problem as it seems a lot of us are affected. Thanks to the original posters, I was able to solve my own problem but only after a useless RMA.
The good news is that Google is aware of the problem and Issue Tracker has it flagged as fixed. Hopefully it will be included in Monday's Feb update, but no ETA is listed in the Tracker thread.
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/122141885
And, unfortunately, I can confirm that the problem was not fixed with the February update.
Good idea to create this thread

Not so good here, tried adguard private dns today and had the soft reboot within 2 hours.
Noticed the same on my Pixel 2 XL, but not on my Note 9 with AdGuard's DNS. Looks like a Pixel-specific issue to me, not an Android 9 issue
I continue to have had no soft or hard reboots since the March update. Adguard is working just fine for me.
And now I just had a soft reboot. I'm attributing it to AdGuard, as I never had a soft reboot before altering Private DNS settings. But it does seem much better. We'll see what the next few days hold.
*****EDIT**** And another one overnight. Problem definitely still there. I'm turning AdGuard back off.
Ugh, so this still hasn't been fixed on Pixel devices, I guess.

Wonder if it's fixed in Android Q
Anyway, a company that make most of it's money selling ads, I'm not surprise they take their time to fix this.
Still not fixed with April update on Pie.

Try DNS66 instead. Same functionality, no issues.
Been running with private DNS set to AdGuard for about a week now......and no reboots. So I think it's been fixed.

Just posting to confirm your findings. Been using AdGuard DNS for about a week now as my private DNS, and have had no reboots.
Sent from my Google Pixel 2 XL using XDA Labs
Well, no sooner had I changed the title and said it was fixed than Cliff posted about his reboots......and I thought, OK, isolated.....then tonight I had two reboots myself. Thus the title changed back to *NOT* fixed.
But I will say at least it seems to be WAY better, at least tolerable while weighing benefits vs. reboots. But I couldn't fit *KINDA* fixed in the title.
After the June update, unfortunately a reboot within an hour.
I thought it was just me , I rooted and moved to using ad-away
Moved to Android Q beta 4 a good week ago, AdGuard private dns enabled, works fine. No reboots.
I know there were a bunch of topics on this earlier in the year but I have yet to find a solution and here's the weird thing...
I have a P6 Pro (Android 12.1) coworker has a P6 (Android 13) and both of us when at home (different homes lol) will have the Wi-Fi turn off, and a few seconds later turn back on again.
The problem for both of us started about a month ago. This is way too coincidental. Neither of us had this problem before and since we are on two separate but similar phones running two different versions of Android could this be a Google connectivity related app that is causing this problem? Maybe a bad update to something?
Btw I've tried all the fixes mentioned in previous posts. Everything but a factory reset and nothing has worked. It only happens once or two a day but it's annoying
I noticed that as well during the last couple of weeks. This wasn't happening before for sure. Still no idea what's causing it.

Thank you. The Google Connectivity Service app that helps manage Wi-Fi was updated about a month ago.
Since we all have different versions I'm thinking this has to be app related. Nothing else makes sense
I had the same issue back on 12.1 on my P4a...and oh man did it annoy the sht outta me! I too assumed it was prolly app related. I spent ages trying to chase it down. Then google offered me $300 trade-in plus a pair of Pixel Buds for a P6a...suddenly I just stopped looking.

Not yet but may that later tonight
For now I tried rolling back to v53 of Google connectivity service to check if that's the culprit.

Since it also happens with GrapheneOS which doesn't have that, its not the culprit.
I'm using the modem from qpr beta. Is anyone else with the problem using this one?

Modem firmware isn't relevant to wifi.
I don't want to jinx it but after happening to me every day for a few weeks it stopped. Been a week now with no changes made on my end.
This had to be a Google app. They are always getting updated and not always for the better
