Hi all,
I had the battery bug where it kept thinking it was charging, so I got Vodafone to replace the handset, and the handset they gave me as a replacement had an unlocked bootloader!!
I was looking to keep the phone stock, and not actually bother playing about with it too much (I'll save that for my Galaxy S III).
Has anyone else experience anything similar to this before??
I also sent my Verizon Galaxy Nexus back to Samsung for repair, which they didn't do anything to other than flash an update, but I did get it back with an unlocked bootloader as well.

When I sent mine back they replaced the power button but my phone thinks it's charging when it isn't. Going to get it replaced when a off my holidays.

If you use a thin knife, put it in the port under the pin and very gently push down on the knife (so it pushes the pin up, only buy a fraction of a millimeter ) it should sort it out, I found somewhere someone suggested this and it worked for me. I'm not responsible if you break it of course

Just got it and it looks like a stuck pixel. It sure is tiny. Would you guys exchange it? My wife says I'm crazy.
If you're going to notice it all the time, then I'd say to go for it. You don't want it to keep bothering you when you're outside of the return period.

You can get it unstuck by running random colours.

I had a dead red pixel in the middle of the screen when I first got mine. I figured if it's going to bug me might as well get it replaced. No issues going through Google and Samsung to get a new one, which is dead pixel free. This was within the first 14 days.

Long story short I have had three replacements and they have all been crap. They offered to send me a different phone, but I turned them down and said I would just send my phone to Samsung for repair, but I don't really want to do that anymore. So o have been thinking about calling them and getting it replaced with the Galaxy S3.
The only thing I am afraid of though is that they are going to tell me I can't get the S3 because it is more expensive than the nexus... I know I can fight the fact the specs on the RAZR are inferior to the Nexus, but how do I fight the specs on the Reazound if they try to offer that to me?

UPDATE: After talking to multiple customer service reps, they told me the only thing that they could do for me was update me to the DROID RAZR...I told them that that is not a "comparable device" and all of the multiple service reps still wouldnt budge. They even went as far as to tell me that their system WILL NOT allow them to upgrade me to the Galaxy S3. Anyway, so I was fed up with the customer service B.S. and so I emailed their executive office. After about two days, I received an email from them asking for the account info and some contact info. They told me that under normal circumstances they wouldnt do this, but she told me the issue I was complaining about with my Galaxy Nexus was a know issue, but at the moment, they dont have a fix for it. She also told me that the customer service people were lying. That the system will let them do it, but it is just a little more difficult. The only thing that I am kind of knit picky about is that theyre sending me the blue one, because they dont have any white ones left, but its whatevs...at least I am getting a free phone and I won.
A couple people here and at Rootz have stated that after speaking with supervisors and pushing the specs that they have been offered CLNR S3's but I have had no such luck...The Razor Maxx was the end of the line
That's ridiculous... the RAZR Maxx has an older chipset and a smaller lower resolution screen

Gf will be going on her third gnex vzw replacement due to dropping signal losing data while mine is strong 4g. The third should be here tomorrow. If it doesn't work I'm pushing for an S3 and she wants my nexus and I'll take the s3 now that the bl's are unlocked.
They noted my account to state this is the last gnex they will send and after that they will try to negotiate a different phone. Helped that the current problem phone dropped data while I was on the phone with tech and they saw it happen. Also helps they screwed up on their end and sent a regular RAZR as a replacement the first time.
Think I may have a shot at getting one.

Tell them you need at least your current screen resolution/size and you use NFC daily. Only 1 phone on Verizon fits that criteria.

I tried and tried...even argued specs and the fact that the other phones dont have NFC...they wouldnt budge.
Hello,
are there anybody meet the similar problem as following:
My new Galaxy nexus cannot connect data via GPRS, 3G or Edge sometimes (one time in one or two days), but phone call, SMS, and WIFI is workable as usual, meanwhile the signal bar will be grey from blue.
I can do nothing but reboot the phone, GPRS will recover after the reboot. I am really really frustrated caused by it...:crying:
Version is 4.1.1 by OTA
baseband is I9250XXLF1
I appreciate someone can pick me out of this problem.
Likely an APN issue... or you have a bad SIM. Have you tried your SIM in another device, or called your service provider?
I hv changed a new SIM, still hv the problem...

At that time, the signal bar changed to grey, and no small arrow inside of the bar, does that mean no data connection?
its a hardware issue or system issue?
My phone is in original 4.1.1 by OTA. No root...
Are there someone can help me???

Thx, I download one from play store, hope it can help me while next accident happens.
Is it a popular problem of GN, even nexus series?

Good luck buddy. My first international nexus has an antenna hardware failure. Everything works except anything cellular. Wifi works great. At this point in time unrepairable, its being used as a $500 battery charger .

I have a Nexus, my girlfriend has a Nexus and my friend has a Nexus. We all have a connection problem that requires a phone restart in order to be fixed. We're on a different carriers. So I think it is quite a popular problem. Just my opinion.

Yesterday my wife's 5x shut down and would not restart. It took a few hours but it finally started. Today she was using it and without prompting a download it started a firmware update and now it seems to be stuck at zero. Any ideas short of an RMA?

Are you able to get into the recovery mode and clear the cache or do a factory reset? I would just call them for an RMA if not. Was able to get my free replacement in 2 days with expedited shipping.

I got mine through the Google Store and called their 24/7 customer service number. (855) 836-3987. After the call, they sent me a link that I had to use within 24 hours to order my replacement. I picked the expedited shipping which was $18.99 (Not sure if that'll be covered by them). A hold for the total amount was put on my credit card until the old one gets sent back. They also emailed me return and packing labels.

One of the reasons we like buying our devices directly from Google (and willing to pay a big extra) is their excellent customer support.
Cross shipment replacements, no questions asked replacements, and money back guarantee only available from the Google Store. Otherwise you're stuck with the manufacturer which all do their best to reject claims instead of help their customers.
