Hello,
My phone got wet in the rains yesterday and is not detecting any touch. Display is fine. How do I go about repairing it and how much would it cost ?
Thanks!

Hi there!
About a month ago, my nephew threw this phone into a bucket of water. After leaving it in rice for about a week or so, it is on and seems to be working fine with the exception of the touch screen. Only the very left part of it is functioning.
I attempted to open it up to clear any water on the LCD and the glass (no water was found). This still didn't work.
What do you think I should do? replace the Glass on the outside? or the LCD? I am not sure how the touch works on the wildfire s. My guess is that the glass does everything and the LCD is just for display. Am I correct? Do I just need to buy the glass?
Thanks in advance.

I know this question has been asked in the past but as there was no solution I am posting in the hope of some help.
I replaced my son's cracked digitizer screen (that was working!) with a new replacement screen. The disassembly went well (easy really) and the cracked screen was removed. The new screen was fitted and the assembly went well. All ribbons fittted easily and everything was back in place. I fired on the phone. Everything still fine. When the phone was ready to go I tried to swipe the unlock on screen and ......nothing! The touchscreen was completely unresponsive. I disassembled a further two times in case ribbons were not inserted correctly but still nothing from the screen.
Has anyone attempted the digitizer replacement and encountered this problem and then solved it? Please help my son is so unhappy without his phone.
Theres a chance you bought a faulty digitizer. Your best bet is to buy anotehr xperia off of ebay.
My wife got a new phone 3 weeks ago (Samsung S5) and in the process was given a "free" Samsung Tab3. Last week the tablet fell of a table and the screen cracked so I decided to play Mr.Wizard and replace the screen. Got the replacement screen, saw the video online and all went pretty smooth. Turn the tablet on and all is still well. Then am trying to set up her e-mail and notice that the 1 on the keyboard does not work. I downloaded an app called Simple Touch Screen Tester and come to find out that the part of the screen where the 1 would be (in portrait mode) is not responding to any touches. If I press down hard on the screen some areas do respond but not all.
Is it possible I got a defective screen? Would spending another $ 20 be worth it?
Or should I return the tablet to Sprint (I assume it is still under the 30 day warranty) and not mention the fact the screen cracked and I replaced it? Can Sprint tell I replaced the screen?
Thanks for any help.

Since you already replaced the dig, you know what's involved. If you're good at what you do, then Sprint can't tell. I've had a Samsung tab with a dead band within which no touch would register. Sent it to Samsung and all they did was update the firmware. But it can be hardware-related. If you bought a replacement lined with tape, it's possible the back of the digitizer didn't stick evenly to the frame 'cause you did not clean all the glue residue before. That certainly can cause problems. Then you may want to check the connection to the motherboard. It should click when you snap it on correctly. The way Samsung digitizer are built, it doesn't feel like yours is defective. I've had one that literally was smashed to pieces yet persisted.
Hi all.I have this phone by one week and i got some problems: touch screen does not work in some places and some times it completely stops working. I installed last official firmware then i installed cyanogenmod but that not fixed my problem and i think is a hardware problem(touch screen problem). Is this model plagued by unresponsive touch like other xperia phones?Pls. help.
I have never had unresponsive touchscreen ever during my experience with Xperia phones. Have you tried cleaning the display with a slightly damp cloth? I always clean my phone everyday to make sure my phone looks shiny, idk why. Usually the smudgy oily looking stuff on the display could really interfere with the touch responsiveness (obviously) and cleaning it would help and if not, bring it back to the shop.
