Hi
I am thinking of getting the HTC one M8 Developer Edition. Do all models have the same chipset just to be sure. if so is to possible to mod or change the radio file to an Europe or Asia radio file since the boot loader is unlocked.
I have found that in HTC middle east site it says LTE AT&T: 700/850/AWS/1800/1900/2600 is that correct can some with a Developer Edition confirm ?

If you S-OFF and Super CID you'll be able to flash the WWE firmware if you wish.

So with this i can access the LTE band(3) and Band (7) ?
So it changes radio file ?
Super edition for HTC.
Can anyone confirm if it is possible to change the LTE band by flashing a WWE firmware?
Hi everyone, I have an HTC M8 with cid HTC_622 (Asia-HK-CHT). It doesn't seem branded and works with any SIM card.
Is it a CDMA or GSM variant? Is there a way I can check?
I haven't found a clear answer so far and some guides here only work for GSM variants and vice versa... Any help would be appreciated.
It sounds GSM what country are you from
GSM with the 2.5GHz processor. Works fine with the 401 firmware.

Thanks for the quick reply. I bought it in Lebanon.
Is there an app or command I can run to make sure?

Yes with s-off you can easily convert it to Developer Edition - International or GPe

thanks. that was the only thing i had in mind that whether or not the international roms are compatible with it. coz verizon and AT&t m8 have separate development forums on xda

thats because the americans cant agree to use the same radio frequencies for their networks, so companies need to make different models for each carrier.
i bought myself an used phone on o2, s-off'd it, changed the cid to GOOGL01 and flashed the GPE conversion RUU. HTC__001 is the sim free cid if you want to flash a sense RUU to completely unbrand your device

You'll be good with international based ROMs. You wouldn't be good with others. The O2 M8 is International WWE. You may have to update your firmware though, to run the latest ROMs, otherwise your wifi will not work.
So I found this nifty guide by looking at all the forums

Question is it wise to go to WWE model or just go to US unlocked model?
In my past experience with HTC sometimes the WWE variant gets updates first sometimes the US Does

Unlocked US is fully compatible with T-Mobile US, not sure if the WWE is.

So I change the CID to BS_US001 correct? Do i need to change the other number too? forgot what it was called.
No. The mid is the same
If you convert to wwe that's what it is... You also lose some bands and tweaks meant for us networks

i plan on just changing it to unbranded US unlocked version and not the WWE that's why I was asking if any differences between each one. Just to confirm BS_US001 is for the US unlocked version correct? and I don't have to change the MID?

Yes, that's correct.
If anyone could give me some advice I'd be grateful. I bought my HTC 10 second hand from someone here in the US. When I took possession of the phone the firmware it was running was 1.80.401.1
I am using the phone on AT&T network here in the US but I keep seeing stuff through out the internet that shows us unlocked should be running 1.80.617.1
Is there any difference between them? Does it matter which I run? Would running the 1.80.401.1 version explain why I do not show AT&T volte settings?
Can someone/anyone using the HTC 10 on AT&T primarily let me know which firmware I should be using.. Thanks for any help guys

Another forum member told me to ignore those numbers, they vary across carriers. For instance, mine still says 1.19.605.22... but it is the latest from Verizon.
As far as service goes it's fine, data signal, calls, text, LTE, the whole nine yards. But the only thing I can't find in settings is how to turn on volte...
All the reading I have done on the net and I still don't know a clear answer on if AT&T users using the HTC 10 have access to volte and if they do which firmware is everyone using or how did they enable the feature or does HTC still need to unlock it via ota. When I asked Mo versi about volte on unlocked 10 on AT&T network right after HTC 10 was shown he said it would be a working feature for AT&T and tmobile users in so many words

I understand what you are saying but I'm wondering if this may be different circumstances when it comes to carrier versions vs unlocked usa/ rest of world?

Your phone is running Europe firmware. The. 401 is EU region.Whats your CID?
It will most likely explain why you don't have volte. Your phone will be a European handset. I think some differences will be in the lte bands that US use. You might not have LTE all the time. You can change your CID and MID and run a RUU but you will need to SOFF
The more I read the more I believe I'm using the wrong firmware too..
So tonight after work I guess I will be unlocking bootloader, flash recovery, root, sunshine soff, change cid, then run ruu

So I'm all set up a lot of reading and the help of you guys I got where I needed to be.
I unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp, rooted, S off, changed cid to american, I changed my mid to one that I think may be Verizon? Then I flashed the US unlocked 1.80.617.1 ruu, got everything working including volte on att network
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
I do believe I may have the wrong mid though, everything is working fine but I have Verizon data icon lol. Is there multiple us model #'s
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
Infact I didn't buy the Euro version htc_001, it was htc_j15 Arabia version...

Did you flash unlocked US RUU? I dont really have an idea im not from US. Maybe ask in the US RUU and Rom zip thread.
Yeah, I'm starting to think HTC used Verizon data symbol for the US unlocked versions, seen a video with unlocked us version (not Verizon) and it had Verizon data symbol as well.
