Hi
I am thinking of getting the HTC one M8 Developer Edition. Do all models have the same chipset just to be sure. if so is to possible to mod or change the radio file to an Europe or Asia radio file since the boot loader is unlocked.
I have found that in HTC middle east site it says LTE AT&T: 700/850/AWS/1800/1900/2600 is that correct can some with a Developer Edition confirm ?

If you S-OFF and Super CID you'll be able to flash the WWE firmware if you wish.

So with this i can access the LTE band(3) and Band (7) ?
So it changes radio file ?
Super edition for HTC.
Can anyone confirm if it is possible to change the LTE band by flashing a WWE firmware?

Post here if your provider has not updated the OTA Software version of your phone, and htcdev has also not added an RUU for your given region.
Simple layout :

With a goldcard, couldn't you flash your phone with the European 2.3.5 RUU ?
I don't know if it's possible. I'm just asking.

Euro RUU in Australia?....good luck receiving calls and messages...wrong network framework.

Model: HTC Wildfire S A510e
Phone software version: 2.3.3
Provider: Unbranded
Place of origin: Cambodia, though I suspect that it's a Singapore model phone
My ROM is Marvel HTC Asia WWE 1.35.707.3. They just released China so I'm hoping they'll release the generic Asia ROM very soon. I'd do Eu 2.3.5 but I don't want to upgrade ROMs twice.
So I'm still locked and unrooted
UPDATE:
I finally got through the HBOOT update using the tip at [HBOOT] HBOOT update for EU users who's having problem with RUU. Now I can proceed to finish the process at htcdev.com.

Maybe the radio files are the same for these countries. Australia uses the same GSM frequencies as European (900-1800Mhz).
For European, the radio version is 7.53.39.03M or 7.46.35.08. What's yours ?
Again, I'm just asking.
7.46.35.08, but system uses the 3g network wich is out of that range. Telstra configered the init scripts for there phones.

Are you sure about that ? It's strange the radio version is the same. :-/
Maybe I'm wrong.
Another idea : what if you only update the HBOOT to 1.08.0099 to be able to unlock it (with PG7610000_Marvel_hboot_1.08.0099_20111216.exe) ?
Don't know if it can work with your phone though.

If so, maybe the matching updater can be applied on your device.

you lost me t-mobile usa has 2.3.5 it got ota on the 1\4\2012
why would I want to update to a europe rom then none of my stuff work work?
am i wrong
htc has not released RUU for TMO USA I just want to know if there is a work around untill they do
Interestingly, same situation as OP however I paid Telstra the $20 and got it unlocked. I've successfully flashed the EU ROM and it works perfectly fine on a New Zealand 3G Network and NZ and AU both have the same GSM frequencies and such. I tried updating with the RUU on htcdev for HTC UK but I get 191 not supported for obvious reasons in which the hardware ID comes back as A510b instead of A510e like the Euro WFS. I tried flashing the bootloader and radio directly with the PG76IMG.zip method but it doesn't update the bootloader, only the radio. I'm guessing it's for same reason's as the RUU method not working with incompatible identifiers on low levels so it seems that we really do have no choice but to wait for Telstra to get off their lazy ass' and update so that HTC can do their part. This may take a while.......
I loooked this over and I dont understand
How do I unlock my bootloader with this

I also have the A510b but have a Thai model. Flashed it successfully with the Euro Rom before and now getting the same error message as you when I want to unlock it. I do see HTC THAI as supported by HTCDEV unlock tool but wonder if the Euro Rom maybe prevents it from getting the Thai firmware OTA.
I might have to do a downgrade and then see if I can get the newer Thai firmware.
Europe shouldn't really work though?
The only difference between an A510b and an A510e is that the first has support for 850mhz (3G) and the latter one 900mhz (3G).
It might be that the radio file for Euro RUU has support for both bands?
Wish I had one of those versions...
Anyway....Bump.

Which version you have?
I have the A510b version, model no: PG7612000
I think it would be a good idea to list all the models and versions and list which one is unlockable and which not.

I want to change the European version

Hello.
I read a guide on how to convert anything to a Developer Edition device running Lollipop. I noticed something interesting: y'know that the WWE M8s are all SKU 401? Then why is the Developer Edition 1540? The CID is different too: WWE ones all start with HTC__ (e.g HTC__032) wile the Developer Edition is BS_US002? So what is going on here and why is the Developer Edition M8 different from the WWE one?

They're sold as different phones and need to be identified as such. Different updates come downstream for them. Basically the same reason my Rogers HTC One has yet another CID/MID, as do the T-Mobile, Orange, Telus, O2, etc.

OK, I get why there carriers have different versions. But isn't the Developer Edition pretty much the same as a WWE Unlocked one, just with an unlocked bootloader? And if the bootloader isn't unlocked, why does it even exist?

There are different ROMs. Yeah, they're probably almost identical, but not quite. I doubt I can get more specific than that... maybe they have different APNs installed? Possibly different levels of bloatware? It might just be that the dev edition gets updates first, so customers can pay extra to have a phone that updates a week or two before their WWE/Carrier counterparts.
I'm pretty sure the bootloader comes locked on the dev edition, just like all the other phones, and you have to unlock it at htcdev.com. I might be wrong though.
Are you facing some sort of technical issue, or just curious?

I'm just curious. I have heard that Developer Edition devices with CID BS_US002 ship with an unlocked bootloader. So, there is almost no difference, just HTC trying to sell it?
x.xx.401.x is the European ROM build, not World Wide English (WWE) as it used to be (which also used to be x.xx.405.x when it was WWE but that's going back a few years)
The US Developer Edition is their version of the EU SIM-free handset but has a different software build, CID and MID and has different radio frequencies so not all 4G bands are covered for EU use. It also only covers a few languages as opposed to the EU languages covered in the EU SIM-free version

Ok.. So .401 is the EU unlocked version, . 1540 is US unlocked with CID BS_US002 also having the bootloader unlocked (BS_US001 only has SIM unlock). Am I correct?

Yes, the US DE comes with the bootloader pre-unlocked. The EU model is supplied locked but can be unlocked via HTC Dev

HT doesn't mean you can install developer ROM, rather it shows the factory from which the phone was from. My Sprint Harman Kardon edition has HT serial number too. My first HK edition serial number was HT44RSF04393 and I got a replacement device after 8months with screen replacement with FA serial number HKmodel.
Is your phone a CDMA global phone or an international GSM? If it is a Sprint or Verizon version, there is no option to convert it to a fully international GSM phone.
This link explains the serial number: http://llabtoofer.com/2015/12/14/htc-devices-serial-number-explanation/
I think my phone is an international GSM phone. Any option to check
Phone = S-ON and you are stock NOT on the developers edition :
You can NOT use the dev edition firmware or RUU you can only run the ROM version of MM. You can NOT change CID & MID and fully convert and you can NOT take official OTA updates !
Phone = S-OFF
You can change CID & MID and you can change to developers edition firmware and RUU (fully convert to dev edition) and take future OTA updates !
Sums it up in big lines

Hi guys, im people that live and speak italian
One question information:
I have HTc M9 International Model, S-Off with sunshine, rooted, with rom Viper 4.3.0, firmware 3.35.401.12 ; i want to update this firmware with 3.35.617.12 unlocked version!
My question is: Flash only firmware and radio with fastboot command or download latest ruu 3.35.617.12 and re-install all? I'm confused
I thanks for user that help!!!
I seriously doubt there are meaningful differences in those two versions, but being s-off, you only need to flash the firmware in download mode. No need for a RUU.
If you are asking difference between 3.35.401 and 3.35.617 the answer is nothing. 3.35.XXX.XX that is how you should check for updates. Android/Sense is the exact same on both of them, only difference is the area they are meant to operate in. The firmware difference depends on the area you live and network. It might help battery life or it might not.
X.XX.401 International (WWE) Model
X.XX.617 U.S.A Developer Edition
thanks guys, i'm sured that developer edition is newest and improve m9 in reason to firmware WWE. thanks, thanks thanks
