Since tom has posted this, most probably its real. And he is planning to release beta version soon.
What do you think is it real? If so it is a very good news for hd2 users.

Note:- I resized the pic so that its clearly visible.

if you consider that the HD was at first a WM7 test device.
and now HD2 is a MS Test Device. I would not be suprised at all to see this released.
Just because something is not getting an "offical" release does not mean anything.
I am not sure if XDA knows what the words "official release" means.

well pretty sure we knew it wouldn't be official but a test rom is EXACTLY what devs have been looking for since this debacle actually began
I can't wait for the release and that means the touch hd2 actually looks like a winner for me as the first wp7s device

can one flash back to wm 6.5 or are we stuck

I'm thinking this is legit. I was holding off on buying a HD2 but if this gets released, I'll be running to the nearest T-Mobile store.

im thinking about getting an android device instead.

very cool will pick up an hd2 if price is right. But will have to deal with edge as the fuhrur said. Maybe import from telstra.

What the hell? That's supposed to be the interface of WP7s? With those gigantic font sizes? One word per line?
What's the point of having 800x480 pixels if you use 60-point fonts? 5 lines of agenda per screen? Will it be able to display one calendar month in a single screen or will you only be able to look at 4 days at a time?
This is an interface for short-shighted people?
Hell, fortunately the people designing Windows 7 does not think that the people purchasing computers are 5-year old children, or 85 year-old. That is scared by more than 5 lines of text on a screen or having to think where to put their files.
I'm not going to purchase a new phone that is a tamagotchi for 5 year old children. Use have been using computers at home for 20 years, we're in 2010, not 1984...

Might be sensible to hold off from overly wild celebration just yet - I believe that if we do choose to flash it, there is no way back due to some fundamental changes in the bootloader.
Personally I'd be interested to have a look at it if I knew I could get back to something tried and tested again. Still, I'm sure the good people working on it will figure out a solution if we give them time and space.
I just hope it doesn't turn into an 'xda special' - a bunch of impatient ingrates hassling the developers to release it and then accusing them of being con artists if they don't do it in a timescale that suits...

Dude.. He fixed that a long time ago.. As long as you're using a recent nightly or rc like rc 3.. look in the stock sms setting..message splitting is there.. And I'd erase this quick before you get shunned.. Lol just saying..

Im sorry, Im new to the evo from the Epic. So are cm7 roms that are based on gingerbread rooted? Since virus rom is based on gb, will it not be rooted?

People who had rooted 2.2 can flash a rooted 2.3 Rom, but people who have an unrooted 2.3 from taking the its can't root yet.

Yeah it may be annoying to see people asking but 90% of you are down right dicks to people. Chill out, and answer their questions, and throw in a link or two to a thread that goes in to more detail of the situation.

While I agree with ur statement I also have to say that when u start a new thread and type in rooting 2.3.3 or something similar there are results of similar asked questions and from there you can read up instead of starting a whole new thread

I agree completely. And I think that people should be informed of the way things are ran around here. I just don't like people who feel the need to be downright obnoxious to people for making a mistake. The damage is done by that point, answer the question, and inform them that they should search from now on. It disgusts me that people get so high and mighty on forums.

Regardless of what question is asked.. Most likely the person asking didn't come in here to ruin someones day or make a similar question to someone else. They simply came here to ask a question or get some advice.. To actually take the time to post some idiotic insult is beyond moronic and basically just says you have nothing better to do with your time than troll forums and bash people for what you "obviously" already know.. This equates to one possible solution for everyone involved.. GET A LIFE!!!

To answer what someone else asked.
I dont think it is possible to do anything with a phone that has a OTA update if Gingerbread on it. I remember reading that it is not possible to undo that update. you simply must wait for the Root to come out, which should be soon.
These Devs are some of the smartest people on the planet, and should be working for HTC et al. They are most likely waiting for some code to be released, just like I am waiting for some coding to be released to I can get a new Kernel for my Synergy ROM.

Team Viper X RC v3.0.1 rumours...

I have been reading here & there on the interweb that v3.0.1 RC is out there somewhere. On the official xda thread there are 2 members posting, stating that they are currently testing the new Viper X v3.0.2 ROM. If there is anyone out there with information on how to become a tester or to just be able to download the beta version. This would be most appreciated. Viper X was the first custom I downloaded and booted on my One X. Have tried many, many other ROM's & none compare. Some have this, some have that, but Viper X has it all... The best custom ROM I have seen full stop.

Hate to say but we have good bunch of beta testers already.

Take a chill pill bro It's just a ROM. It will be released when it's released. There are more important things in life . AFAIK, there's no way to just jump into the team and test. If you're itching for a JB ROM, there are others. If you want Viper, use the ICS version.

Hey guy, not appreciated... What do you know about me or my extensive linux programming experience. Android is just a hobby, please do not discourage those who could seriously have the goods to be become one of your almighty testers. Yes, there is a life other than android, and yes I can wait for the JB release, and yes I am still using the 2.71 ROM. Maybe there are others out there that look at things differently as to bring a fresh new idea into a world held so tight by only a few.

don't want to break it to you, but you are asking for a link to the beta, as you could have seen in the official thread there is no link and testing is a work in progress by a team that circles around Richmondo. If you wanted to apply as a betatester you just could have sent Rich a PM and you would have the answer.

I too am very "frustrated" and waiting for a new version, but Richmondo's post calmed my feelings.

My nonsense posts everyday....show me wich are nonsense, at least i make donations to the team and I try to give input with themer fisha and work out my ideas and edit apps for the red venom theme ......where is your oh so great input ... well you know definitely what you are talking about. My reaction was a polite one and not offensive to the OP, I also did not use any words to hurt the OP, just giving my opinion.....and I'm the least frustrated about the release....having fun with other roms and the viper ics, and having fun in the viper thread from time to time...if that is useless I would have had some infractions from the mods and not a click on the thanks button. sorry OP i forgot to answer your question as i was side-tracked! ... to answer your question the dev @Rich wrote it will be uploaded next month around the 12th of Jan and the beta testing has just about finished

Not to offend anyone but I don't see the point to rushing the ROM and requesting for beta testing or ETA. When the developer & the Team feels comfortable they will release it. The Team had opened for beta testing when it was in ICS so if they need more they will open and intimate the users. Till then it's better it wait patiently, because unlike other ROMs there is a lot of work to get all the ViperX features ported to new version our I'm sure they are working as hard as they can to releases it to our community. I'm no Moderator but my suggestion would be to keep the discussion friendly.... Cheers

A plea for help.
I am the definition of a noob. I have spent the last several days trying to find the root for my sm-n910v 6.0.1 note 4 and have come up empty. Now, I am quite certain that I am missing it; I humbly ask for someones direction in where to find what I am looking for. Any help is appreciated.

Think you'll have to downgrade to 5.1.1 but not 100% sure on that. Should be able to post in the thread I linked before you follow those instructions.

Kingroot will not work with MM with an unlocked bootloader. I know this from expierence. I have a retail Note 4 converted to the developer ed. with a unlock bootloader on MM. And it will not root currently. I think I found thru the grapevine it needs a modified kernel.

Kingroot probably won't work on an unlocked bootloader. That's not how you get root with an unlocked bootloader.
I doubt a kernel is keeping a phone from rooting.

Just to stop this stupid argument:
You need to flash a hybrid firmware containing the MM bootloader/modem and the LL OS, which can be rooted.

If someone says "do your research," it can be a little annoying, but really, if you have the time to root your phone, unlock your bootloader and possibly install custom ROMs, you should have time to look up how to do that. You shouldn't attack someone, even if they come off as a little rude. If someone attacks you, just report the post and don't 'fan the flame,' so to speak.

If someone says "do your research," it can be a little annoying, but really, if you have the time to root your phone, unlock your bootloader and possibly install custom ROMs, you should have time to look up how to do that. You shouldn't attack someone, even if they come off as a little rude. If someone attacks you, just report the post and don't 'fan the flame,' so to speak.

I've been around since HTC Dream and never seen a question get an answer like that. I agree with Zacharee1 but will add an addendum to it:
If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't reply to the post at all.
I also won't respond to negativity, just brings the community to a place we shouldn't go.
