I have been reading here & there on the interweb that v3.0.1 RC is out there somewhere. On the official xda thread there are 2 members posting, stating that they are currently testing the new Viper X v3.0.2 ROM. If there is anyone out there with information on how to become a tester or to just be able to download the beta version. This would be most appreciated. Viper X was the first custom I downloaded and booted on my One X. Have tried many, many other ROM's & none compare. Some have this, some have that, but Viper X has it all... The best custom ROM I have seen full stop.
Hate to say but we have good bunch of beta testers already.

Take a chill pill bro It's just a ROM. It will be released when it's released. There are more important things in life . AFAIK, there's no way to just jump into the team and test. If you're itching for a JB ROM, there are others. If you want Viper, use the ICS version.

Hey guy, not appreciated... What do you know about me or my extensive linux programming experience. Android is just a hobby, please do not discourage those who could seriously have the goods to be become one of your almighty testers. Yes, there is a life other than android, and yes I can wait for the JB release, and yes I am still using the 2.71 ROM. Maybe there are others out there that look at things differently as to bring a fresh new idea into a world held so tight by only a few.
don't want to break it to you, but you are asking for a link to the beta, as you could have seen in the official thread there is no link and testing is a work in progress by a team that circles around Richmondo. If you wanted to apply as a betatester you just could have sent Rich a PM and you would have the answer.

I am very curious too about the Jelly Bean rom, i loved the ICS version and eagerly awaiting the next release and the one for the One X+
I too am very "frustrated" and waiting for a new version, but Richmondo's post calmed my feelings.

My nonsense posts everyday....show me wich are nonsense, at least i make donations to the team and I try to give input with themer fisha and work out my ideas and edit apps for the red venom theme ......where is your oh so great input ... well you know definitely what you are talking about. Have you also seen how many useless posts i posted in the Q&A part of the forum.
My reaction was a polite one and not offensive to the OP, I also did not use any words to hurt the OP, just giving my opinion.....and I'm the least frustrated about the release....having fun with other roms and the viper ics, and having fun in the viper thread from time to time...if that is useless I would have had some infractions from the mods and not a click on the thanks button. Get your facts right. that you are frustrated about the release is not my problem.....

sorry OP i forgot to answer your question as i was side-tracked! ... to answer your question the dev @Rich wrote it will be uploaded next month around the 12th of Jan and the beta testing has just about finished
Not to offend anyone but I don't see the point to rushing the ROM and requesting for beta testing or ETA. When the developer & the Team feels comfortable they will release it. The Team had opened for beta testing when it was in ICS so if they need more they will open and intimate the users. Till then it's better it wait patiently, because unlike other ROMs there is a lot of work to get all the ViperX features ported to new version our I'm sure they are working as hard as they can to releases it to our community. I'm no Moderator but my suggestion would be to keep the discussion friendly.... Cheers

Easy buddy. My post wasn't mean or anything. Questions are questions no matter what they pertain to. I was just letting him know that its the wrong section and if he would have looked around he would have seen that this topic is being actively discussed.

Will all due respect to all the great developers I just want to know how does one define what is development and what is not.
Since the day I have been using Smartphones ( PPC6700), I have been using different custom ROMs. No one has built it from scratch, they were all provided by the CellPhone Makers and Cell Service providers combined. Then the developers took that and then edited it to make it faster, better etc.
Now strongsteve takes the base and then ODEXES the DEODEXED parts and then provides awesome ROM. Developers who provide De-Odexed ROM, do not provide the ODEXED version of the same ROM, that makes me think that what ever Steve does was not there and he did something that made it into flash able ROM, then why is it not considered Development. He is such a great asset and is forced to Post his Fully Functional Odexed ROM in general section. I think its not fair.
I know people will flame me for this, and that is fine, it will not change my bank balance so I do not care, but I just wanted to voice my opinion and also learn about the definition of development.
Again this is not an attack on other developers, without you guys Android would be nothing but 2nd best option after IOS, right now in my opinion it wold be an insult to Android to speak about it in the same breath as iOS, and all this is due to only you guys ( Developers). I keep flashing all your ( De-odexed and Odexed) ROMs as I like novelty and also can help in testing.
You know, I've never understood why people get so bent out of shape about the development section here. I'm a member of many different forums that cover all kinds of different topics, including other Android forums. Threads get posted in the wrong section on EVERY forum just about every day. This is the ONLY site where people get all bent out of shape because of it, and members are threatened with an "infraction" simply for posting something in the wrong place. Every other site, a moderator simply moves the thread to the proper location and provides a polite explanation.
They came up with the whole 10 post thing before you are allowed to post in the development section, but just because someone has 10 posts doesn't mean they are developing something. Now we have people spamming the other forums just to get their 10 posts in.
Why not just make it so only developers are able to post new threads in the development section?

I have been reading the development forums since release day on the E4GT. I flash different ROMS several times a week and have tried them all, but I can't relay my experiences with each different ROM because I don't have the ten posts. This looks like a good time to make my first of ten useless spam posts in the general forum to be able to post in the dev section.
I appreciate all the great ROMS, Kernels, Themes, Mods and everything else created by all the talented coders in this community. IMO, a great piece of work is a great piece of work, It doesn't make a hill of beans difference to me which section its posted in.
The reason most people use deodexed is because it's flexible. If you use any odexed ROM, you're stuck with it's theme. But that eliminates the problem in StrongSteve's case because he's got the ICS stock odexed verison.
Its not about odexed or de-odexed

Hi my post was not about odexed or deodexed that debate will go on for ever...I use all the roms that are posted...
I generally post for asking questions when I need help..This is the first time I have posted to complain that its was not fair to consider what Steve does as non-development...If you take parts of the apps and edit then and then put them all together and make it Bootable Installable ROM then it means development and Steve does much much beyond just that...He was being nice by not complaining about it and he did post his work in General section and I felt it bad so I spoke out nothing much.

This has already been talked about, discussed, hashed over and the dead horse has been beaten - it's a dead discussion about Strongsteve - he hasn't left XDA and even stated that he never called himself a developer and didn't care where his stuff was - so I think you've missed something.
If you want to discuss something like this - I suggest you redirect your initial comments and not bring up dead issues - you'll only inflame what was already overblown and old news now.

I think the point has been made - closing the thread
MOD EDIT: As of November 7th CoreDroid officially moved all its support to another site.
Due to repeated kanging from other Roms as well as needing CST paid version to obtain the latest version of the Rom, anything related to the CoreDroid team is not allowed to be posted anymore on XDA and is from now on considered warez.
This includes: Signatures, links, themes, as well as any work developed by the CD team or included in any Rom.
TL;dr: If you included anything from CD in your work, you have to remove it.

Why do you think its harsh? This skin is 100% made by CoreDroid and it has been ripped and distributed 100's of times so no I dont find it harsh, we own it and we deserve the right to say no you cannot rip it even though it still happens daily.
We also do indeed give credit when needed. Please just wait and try the ROM before you start making assumptions. Should be released today if all goes well.

GPL compliance is important. It is a simple yes/no question: Have you modified the kernel or any other aspect of the ROM that is covered by the GPL?
If the answer is yes, then by not providing the source / linking to the original source if unchanged you are in breach of the GPL, and in much the same way as you complain about people ripping your skin, you have taken GPL work and used it, without respect for the rules. If this is the case, again, much the same as your skin, the mods will remove your ROM thread.
Edit: Just to clarify, I have no vested interest in the success or otherwise of this ROM, and I'm not a dev. All the same, I find it irksome for the OP to make such a big deal about their skin being ripped (which is, I guess, a collection of found icons put together anyway), post zero information about the sources of the rest of the ROM.

Simply because we are releasing ROMs for 6 devices today. Between cooking, uploading, updating our site and having a day job and family/kids, this just makes it a bit more manageable.
Now just can use community build Oxygen 3.5.0
When is the release date of the official Oxygen 3.5.0?

I agree, I was wondering the same thing and I spent about an hour on the OnePlus forum and still didn't see a thread discussing this (found a lot of other useful info though). I don't understand why people are jerks. XDA is a community of people who want to help other people. With rude attitudes you make people want to find other sites.

I didn't find any such post made by OnePlus or it's associates and googling "oneplus nougat" returns 100s of useless entries just asking when are they going to release it. Please, link me to the announcement made by OnePlus.

There is no announcement... It never will be. They will release whenever will be ready. Like they just released M for op2. You experts like you're dying for N version. Op3 is working fine and still the top 1 device. If you want it so badly cook the rom from AOSP sources... I cant wait to have it too. But do not ever expect to be a date when it say... At 1December we will push android N to op3.. from the past i can say they only notify maximum 1week before.

They always have released next android version 7-8 months later, so.. i doubt they're still working on it.
Why working on a 3.5 version if they will never release it?
They have released a community build for 3.5. After that i suppose they will release a stable version. Then, maybe, they will start working on Android N.
I think in March-April we should see something.....
from the looks of the community build, i hope that version never comes out. it looked more like hydrogen os and even if oneplus has started working on android 7, i dont think it'll come before the end of this year. Motorola is usually the fastest with updates and even they start rolling them out around November and December. I do think CM 14 should be up by the end sep or oct.

Hi everyone.
I just noticed that currently there's just one developer (Raghu varma) who's developing for our Hanoip devices; last month i noticed that his XDA threads had been closed by his own request. I searched a little more, and i noticed that many of his other development threads from other devices were also closed (by his request i guess)
Does this means that development for our device are kind of abandoned?
Also, there's a telegram group that publish his roms (and any other from this device, if any) and there aren't new posts since august 27.
Does anyone knows anything? :'s

So...one guy in one device forum...made him stop all development for all devices? Sounds a bit extreme, but...I gotta say, I kinda understand where is he coming from with all this.
Hardware is expensive. Even building on a Google virtual machine costs money. And when you're building multiple ROMs for multiple devices, that means lots and lots of TBs of storage, and a pretty beefy computer so you can finish all that work preferably before New Year's.
Also, I know this kind of people. People who love to just complain about everything. I see them everywhere. And it drives me crazy. It's like nothing is good enough for them. They keep complaining and demanding stuff. And they tend to forget all the work and all the time that goes into this. They just don't appreciate it. I mean, it's not all about the money. Although, as I said, hardware is expensive, and...you do need to eat, once in a while. So...a little something would be really appreciated. But when you're doing it for free, and you don't even get a thank you; instead, you only see complaints and requests and people demanding things to be done in a certain way, in a certain time...you get sick of it pretty fast.
People like this don't care enough to see the good in anything. Everything is trash, everything is not worth anything (even when you get it for free!), so...yeah. The rest of the post has been removed (and I'm sure it was for a good reason), but I can imagine what was probably there before.
So I kinda understand his decision. Development is not easy. And it can be expensive, if you want hardware. So...yeah, when you see people like that who are just not ok with anything, you kinda wanna give up on everything and move on. Cause you feel like nothing is worth your time more than your own life and your own peace of mind.

The post has been closed, and the bluetooth of that rom can only be paired and cannot be connected to use and the android auto cannot be initialized. I think this may be related to the bluetooth failure. . . . . Well if it weren't for these two questions I think it's pretty good. . . . . Pity

Well, in fact, I used three roms made by him. Among them, los does not have its own Google suite, which does not meet Google's requirements, so it can't run Android auto. However, aosp and pe come with Android auto and Google suite. but apparently they face the same bug there must be a bug somewhere and i will have to go back to the official rom to get me to use android auto

To be honest there is nothing to hide but ultimately the background music with hate is just making me more headache to deal with these few haters. Even though if you look in to my works from last 3 years to till date. I am following my protocol with proper terms & conditions. So just dealing with few new haters in a positive way. On top of it i don't even care about other developers unless they do something to me or some friendship from long but ultimately if you look in to his posts, he himself posting all drama . So better he should surrender with his own scrap. I am out from this so kindly from now i request XDA moderators to ban all these story writers who post racism/criticism/nepotism stories.
By the way the Kang word doesn't even fit to me because ultimately according to GPL my kernel source is always publicly available and you can take that and share to XDA DRT team. Iam ready for it. Most importantly i already told to everyone in all places( inside & outside XDA )as well "if anyone have issues with authorship then come to me, will review and proceed accordingly but if i identify the commit is fishy then i will discard on face" but ultimately few knew only creating drama.
