So, I've never actually used Xposed on this tablet for various reasons. One reason being I couldn't get the deodex program to actually deodex the files. It would just fly through it and the log would show all files failed. When I did get it to work, I couldn't get Viper to work. It essentiallly came down to the fact that I couldn't get Viper AND deodex, and therefore Xposed, to work at the same time. I wasn't about to give up Viper though. Well, I finally was able to get them both to work last night and now I'm looking for Xposed modules to install.
Current modules: Physical Music Button Control, APM+, YouTube AdAway, and YouTube Background Playback.
Any recommendations for "Must Have" modules?

Hello.
after successfully rooting my G4 and installing busybox.. I have also installed V4A. however, after installing the drivers, I can't get them to actually work.. (driver status shows unsupported and abnormal.)
anyone knows if V4A works with the G4? and if so, how did you get it to work?
thanks!

You need to set kernel to permissive. Selinux switcher apps will correct your issue.
I set to permissive installed v4a of viper and used awesome player instead of nu player. Yet changing eq doesnt do anything

TUrn off any EQs that you may have on in your music player.
And if you go into the settings menu > Driver status > What do you see here?
After setting to permissive you should get a different message at the bottom when you access V4A compared to when you didn't have it (If you kept note)
Here is a great guide how to make it work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/to-root-apps-t3165390/post62107040#post62107040
In addition to the above, I had to force enable V4A and switch to FX compatible mode to get Spotify to work. My other apps worked without those changes.
About gave up for months, then it clicked in my mind when i saw a post mention to make sure all other audio apps redirect eq to viper, and if not, change them. Even if you dont use a certain audio player app, change it too.
Problem is, i could not get the lg music app (which i never use) to change the equalizer to viper, it just had it's own default settings, so i ignored it. So i decided to revisit the lg app, and froze the app with link2sd, i also froze the lg video app too, just in case. Rebooted and now viper sees NEON and i can even run without compatibility mode (which did not work consistantly for me) .
I tried all steps to get this to work, not sure what other things are needed for everyone else, but i tried moving viper to system, installed selinuxmodechanger, maybe this can be uninstalled now, i have no idea. I have no plans to fix what isnt broken and find out myself, so just try freezing lg music app for starters.
Hope it works for you, if so, let the community know what steps you had to do!
Hi folks, I'm keen to stay on stock rom for the time being. However I can't seem to get viper to work, the app itself installs and so does the drivers, but selinux mode changer - has root issues.
It is granted root, but soon afterwards a pop up appears stating that it hasn't been granted sufficient root access (something like that).
Has anyone managed to get just viper mod alone installed on stock rom? I know there are other sound software mods, such as arise that include viper - but I was looking to install just viper mod alone.
Any help would be much appreciated.
With all my previous devices it worked perfectly fine.
Flash FreedomOs - modified stock, comes with root, xposed support and working viper no mods needed, find it in roms section
Good day everyone,
First and foremost, I was not sure about where to post, in the venom thread, Magisk or V4A. Also, did not find any prior posts regarding my issue.
I am running the latest version of version of VenomRom with stock kernel. No mods except some downloaded from the Magisk app.
My issue is that whenever I'm playing music on my phone, the equalizer would randomly (and very often) cut off and the music would go flat and sound horrible, Regardless of if it's speaker or the headphones are plugged in. I've tried many things to fix this but I'm starting to believe it's not me. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.

You're using the V4A app in the repo, correct? (AKA in the download section of Magisk Manager) The one where you must install the V4A app manually.
Try white listing it from Doze, go into your battery settings and finding the V4A app. You need to pick "Do not optimize" and it should leave it be.
If you have App Systemizer, making the V4A app into a system app may also help.
Alternatively, you could use ViPER-FX which has its own app and puts it directly in the system. If you choose this, make sure NOT to download the version in the OP as it is outdated. Here is the updated one. I personally use this one without issue.
Thats pretty weird. I'm running the current Venom rom and V4A and haven't had any issues.
Maybe try deleting everything and do a fresh install?
Or I think there are some mods you can look into on the Magisk app, maybe try Audio Modification Library?
Thank you for the replies. I actually tried optimizing the app. That didn't work. I started with a fresh install so i'm not interesting in wiping again. I will try installing viper-fx as a system app and report back.

Update: so after moving vfx to /system/app/ two days ago, I haven't had any problems with the eq cutting off. Thank you so much for your help. ??
I'm on this condition: stock retail Nougat, stock retail kernel, TWRP installed, rooted with SuperSU, BusyBox installed and Xposed too.
All works fine on my phone... with a little exception: Packet installer.
When I go to install any APK directly (untrusted sources...) like from Aptoide (with its root installation disabled), from Xposed or from file system I got continuos FC of "packet installer" and installation is not possible.
I've overcome this installing apks from ES file explorer or by some APK installer present on Play Store, BUT both of them need to be used externally as stand alone apps and can't be called directly from, e.g. Xposed or Aptoide.
Both this solution after a first different installation starting, use stock Nougat installer, so the FC should be connected to how installations are called by apps...
I've tried A LOT of solution (clear data, cache, update to v.7.1.2 packet installer, disable & re-enable unknown sources, etc...) but none seems able to fix this little annoying issue...
Any ideas?
Do you have this issue too?
Seems like either Xposed modules or any form of putting mods together caused that. Sadly I don't use Xposed due to piracy reasons. But I would start removing mods untill it works for you

You were absolutely right! :cyclops:
I've found it was an Xposed module causing the FCs!
This one to be exact: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xhfw3-floating-windows-t3371074
Weird is that nor calling app neither Packet installer were set to use its windows features and even blacklisting packet installer from XHFW3 doesn't stop FCs... only fully disabling the module does!
Anyway... thanx a lot!
Anyone tried Xposed on Oreo?
Yup, tried on my OP3 Oreo 8.0.
It's as awesome as before. Only a couple of complaints though -
1. Safetynet check can not be verified while xposed is active, this doesn't let few apps to work. One workaround is, to disable xposed, restart the phone and then to install and login to such apps. Afterwards, activate xposed and restart your phone again. This is tedious. However, it works. Not everytime, though - to use apps such as Zebpay, you always need your xposed to be disabled. This can be managed, but, again, tedious task.
2. OneTap download isn't working!
I was such a fan of this module. Unfortunately, it doesn't work in my OP3. I've tested the module, and just in case any of you have suggestions on how to make it work, do let me know. Till then, I'll better wait for a new release of the module.
These points are my opinions/feedback about xposed on oreo 8.0 on OP3. However, I love XPOSED and I'm totally in love with android because of the tweaks XPOSED has got to offer.
