To connect your phone to PC sync manager simply go to settings ==> Developer options and enable USB debugging after you can connect your HTC phone to PC sync manager.

Hi,
I'm trying to root my phone. I'm up to the step where I install unrevoked and run it.
When I do I get the message:
Waiting for device. Plug phone in now and enable USB debugging.
I have my phone plugged in and USB Debugging is enabled, but nothing happens.
The drivers I needed to download would not install until I booted my phone into hboot. (Then it showed the android 1.0 device so I installed the drivers).
I've rebooted my phone now, and I have tried connecting both as HTC Sync and as a Disk Drive (on the phone).
I believe HTC Sync has been completely removed from my computer, so I'm stuck at where to go next. Can someone help please?
Edit: When I connect using 'HTC Sync' as the method on the phone, I get an Unknown Device appear in my list of drivers. I can't install the 'drivers' provided with Unrevoked here. Have I missed a step?
Thanks & Regards
Adza
Never mind - found the problem. I uninstalled both HTC Sync and HTC Driver installer. Once I put HTC Driver installer back on, all ran like clockwork. (I needed to also choose HTC Sync on the phone when connecting the USB Cable).
Windows 8 says that I need a driver for my phone. I installed the latest HTC Sync and went to device manager. Then pointed to the HTC folder where the diver files are. The computer still say it can not find the driver. what do I need to do?
live chat with HTC said that I need HTC sync manager not htc sync so I am going to uninstall and then install ill be back with updates
no joy I still need help
okay so Ive noticed that in fastboot USB the PC see the phone as Android 1.0 with a HTC driver
if I then hit the power button to select the bootloader it goes away and if I go to recovery and hit the power buttone the PC sees the phone as "one" with no driver

Reboot your PC with the Advanced Boot Menu, and load Windows 8 with driver signing verification disabled. Then connect your phone 3 times, once in recovery, fastboot, and in the OS. The drivers will load correctly, and you can then reboot into normal Windows 8 and it will work fine.
Where is the advance boot menu?

Ok I tried this. No joy. The pc still says it cannot find a driver. Yes HTC sync and HTC manager are installed
Remove htc sync and manager, and then use these drivers http://vzw1files.dyndns.org/ADB/ADB_Drivers.zip You will have to manually install them thru device manager.
still says the htc driver is the best one device shows up as Android 1.0
So after flashing CM11 I can no longer transfer files to my HTC One X, I tried uninstalling all the old one and installing the latest HTC Sync Manager but when I connect my phone now it opens sync manager but then proceeds to say that no phone is connected. Neither can I find the device in windows explorer.
What now since the PC recognizes the device in Device Manager but wont let me manage it.

have you enabled usb debugging in developer options in settings? also, you should unlock your screen when connecting to computer
Hi,
I flashed my HOX Endeavour successfully from 4.2.2 stock to 5.1.1 (Resurrection Remix). Before that I made a backup with HTC Sync Manager. Now, when I connect my phone to USB of my PC, the Sync Manager App starts without connection to the HOX anymore. However, I can see the content of the phone storage in Windows Explorer, so the connection is somehow working.
What I did so far.
- reinstall HTC Sync Manager on Windows 7 PC
- reinstall HTC driver on PC
- enable USB debugging on phone
Did I miss something?
Thanks for any help!
