All,
The problem described is 'new', i.e., I did not have this problem with my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Jelly Bean.
With my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 4, not all of my LinkedIn contacts are sync'ing with the Contacts app. Based on reading various posts here, I did the following:
Deleted my LinkedIn connection
Uninstalled the LinkedIn app
Cleared the memory on both Contacts and Contacts Storage
Restarted my phone
Reinstalled LinkedIn and reestablished the connection
Force a sync
According to LinkedIn, I have 1,267 connections, but after the above steps, I only show 1,019 contacts on my phone.
Can someone explain why 248 connections are not sync'ing? More importantly, can someone suggest a means for resolving this problem?
Thank you.

Today I imported my Facebook contacts into Google contacts in order to help populate Google+ but things have gone horribly awry and Google no longer syncs contacts with my HTC Desire. Contacts still sync with my Asus Transformer.
In my logs I found this which seems to indicate a version incomparability.
E/DatabaseUtils: android.content.OperationApplicationException: Found value 22 when expected 21 for column version
Since all the data is in the cloud I tried clearing the data for the people application in the hope it would pull down a clean set of data from Google but it hasn't helped. Rather confusingly it has synced partially and the partial data includes people who are in my Google+ circles but are not in my Google contacts. These contacts are not synced to my transformer.
Is anyone else experiencing problems syncing contacts after using Google+ or have any clues as to how to fix the problem?
Thanks
Not sure if anyone else is having problems in ICS builds with google calendar sync but I found a solution that worked for me. I tried different apks with no luck the problem it seems is that the ICS calendar has trouble displaying certain recurring events that GB seemed to handle fine for me. After exporting my google calendar, deleting the calendar, and then importing the saved file back into google calendar I was finally able to get ICS calendar to sync. Google how to import and export google calendar if you don't already know how, it's quite simple. If this doesn't work you can try deleting reoccurring events till you find the one causing the sync error.

Export import solved the problem!!
SWEET
Thanks
ICS with Exchange
I am facing the same problem with my exchange calendar sync. Do you think this solution would work for this as well?
There's an app for it
I had this issue after updating my Galaxy Note to ICS 4.0.3. Calendar sync caused forced close and no data was synced. Tried deleting my corporate google account from the phone and re-adding it (my personal account synced just fine).
Bought an app called CalenGoo for less than EUR5 after confirming with the very helpful dev that it is not reliant on the defective ICS sync engine. Got everything up and running in seconds!
On other suggested "solutions" found on forums: 1) Not intrigued to factory reset the phone and restore all apps and lose their settings etc. while there is no guarantee that it would do any good. 2) Deleting recurring events (weekly meetings with colleagues etc) is simply not something anyone who uses their Google calendar for anything serious is going to do. And again no guarantee that adding the meetings again would not just cause the same problem. Rather buy a phone that works. It is ridiculous that Google/Samsung would release this kind of defective crap, and makes you think what else might be wrong with ICS if QA is this bad.
Another Fix - Change/Delete Daily Recurring events with Every Weekday Selected

I was having this Google calendar sync error constantly on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and Asus Transformer TF101 tablet. I used ALOGCAT to pinpoint the root cause although it was misleading because the log said "Weekly" recurring event when it was actually a "Daily" recurring event with "Every Weekday" checked. If I deleted these entries or changed it to a Weekly event and picked each weekday specifically, the sync errors stopped. Here's more detail on my approach. I use Gsyncit to sync between my work pc Outlook account and my Google calendar. Then I use the normal sync apps on the phone and tablet. As part of my troubleshooting I had deleted all my Google calendar entries, then reloaded the events from Outlook to Google (one way). I still was getting the sync error until I located and changed the offending recurring events. I also removed my Google accounts from my phone and tablet to force them both to load all the recreated Google appointments from scratch. This may have been overkill. Try removing or changing the Daily (Every Weekday) recurring events, first, before wiping your calendars like I did. If doing just that works for you, it will save you a lot of time.

I have solved same problem by clear data of "calendar storage" apk in application manager. then sync with Google account.
I sync to hotmail for all my personal contacts and all of a sudden this morning none of my hotmail contacts are showing in my phone. Nothing has changed since last night and when I look in the account settings it is set up to sync contacts. Also when I go online my contacts are still in hotmail. My hotmail account is set up as an exchange active sync account and up until today it worked fine with no issues.
When I go into the contacts app I don't have any contacts for that account and when I go into groups its not even listed there at all as an account. But like I said in the account settings it is listed as syncing contacts.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this and fixed it? Or have any idea what causes it? Is it just some server issue on the hotmail side that will clear itself up randomly like it glitched out randomly? I highly doubt it's related but my phone has been unable to connect to the at&t update servers for a while now and never got the ota update I've heard about. TIA for any help.
EDIT: so I tried deleting the account and re-adding it and now some contacts are showing but not all even though the account sync shows completed. And for a second the account was listed in the contact app groups and then I literally watched it disappear. I am completely at a loss here.
I'm experiencing the same problem and can’t find a solution.
Not only my hotmail contacts keep disappearing from my standard contacts-app, also my hotmail-emails and agenda items keep disappearing. A few minutes later my smartphone tells me I’ve got new emails, but it just downloaded them back to my smartphone. The same with the contacts and agenda-items.
I already did a hard reset with my smartphone, but it keeps deleting everything from hotmail.
When I disable the synch-options for that account, it doesn’t delete my mails, contacts and agenda, but then again I have to manually look for new emails.
EDIT: I just noticed, when de synch-option is disabled for contacts, my smartphone randomly deletes everything from hotmail including the contacts. Only the contacts stay deleted, while emails and agenda-items are downloaded again.
So it probably has to be an issue with Galaxy S3 or Anroid.
I've got: Model GT-I9300 with Android-version: 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
Just like "erikk" my Hotmail account is set up as an Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account.
I've just bought a new Samsung Note II GT-N7100 (Android version 4.1) and I am having issues when it comes to synchronise my Ms Outlook Calendar.
1. The application that I am using from the device is the S Planner - which is already installed on the device;
2. Application that I am using on my laptop Ms Office 2007;
3. Exchange Server backend 2003.
When I first synchronised the device with the calendar seemed to be working fine. But the issue is when I have a calendar appointment and one of my delegates changes the time or the duration of the appointment, the Samsung does not reflect the changes that were made.
Now I have another issue the calendar is not displaying new appointments both if entered from my laptop either entered from my device. Is like I am seeing an old snap-shot of my calendar.
I tried to made various troubleshooting (Deleted outlook profile from the device and re-configured, Tried to install 3rd Party Applications) but problem still persists.
Your help is much appreciated, since I do not know where to place my head at this stage.

Sounds like you simply imported the calendar and didn't set it to synchronize.
If you simply import it, it will literally take a snap-shot of your calendar, put it into the new calendar and do absolutely nothing else (it won't sync).
I've got both my school calendar and google calendar synced to my Note II (Also using S-Planner) and they work fine.
First of all thanks for the reply.....
from the sync options, I've set it up as peak and off peak to Push but to no avail....
do you have any more ideas, what this issue can be!
thanks once again
Hey there,
I am having trouble syncing my contacts (using the native android app) with my hosted exchange account.
New contacts added to the phone are synced to exchange, changes and new contacts addes via outlook and owa are synced to the phone BUT: changes that I make to existing contacts on the phone are not synced to exchange.
Calendar and email sync works without any problems. I have been using various ROMs, deleted and re-added the account, erased cache,... the problem remains.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I have tried touchdown and others, I don't like them)
Thanks

No ideas? Well.... I don't blame you. I am speechless as well.
Oddly enough, I am having the exact same problem. There are ballpark 2,000 contacts in my local Outlook, but only 600-700 are sync'ing to my Galaxy S5. Another weird thing is that the Google Search feature on the phone no longer finds the contacts that DO show. I do the search for a contact I know is in the phone's database, scroll over to the phone results tab to be sure, and it says "no results found on your phone".
This is bizarre as both were working perfectly at one point. Something got gummed somewhere, and I have no clue??
