Please someone help

I've seen people are viewing this post if anyone know how to fix my problem please help or message me, the minimal adb won't work unless the device is turned on in usb. debugging, I can access my recovery with phone on easily but while it's powered off I should be able to get to custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while phone is off, but this method isn't working. So if I get in bootloop I can't get into custom recovery...please anyone any ideas

Well it should be as simple as holding down power and volume button down things but i guess you've already tried that method many times and it didnt work so you ask then, right?
If your phone in bootloop, you can flash tot files and it will back to stock re-root and re-install trwp.
If your phone still (or already) normal, you can download an app that can take you to custom recovery such as rebooter or power menu, thats it.

Yea phone isn't in bootloop, but if I put a Rom on phone I have no way to access the recovery because the volume and power won't take me to the recovery, so if it goes into bootloop I'm outta of luck I don't understand why the hardware buttons won't take me to the recovery, have you ever heard of this problem

How long are you holding the vol down and power buttons? It should be around 15-20 seconds, then your system recovery screen comes up, you choose factory data reset, yes, and then TWRP comes up. If that isn't working - are you sure your buttons are working OK?

If the phone is turned off is there any other way to access it while phone is off?

Yes buttons work fine I hold it down and it just goes to Verizon screen ?

Actually when I hold it down it just stays on logo and reboots back to logo over and over and over

Actually I hold it down and it reboots to logo over and over its like there's no recovery there I don't understand lol

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on how to fix this please let me know

OK... Does your phone boot into your ROM at all or are you bootlooped? If your phone boots, download an app called flashify and get the proper twrp .img file for your model and flash the image using flashify. It's an easy app to use - just make sure you're using the correct twrp .img for your phone...from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966129
If you are bootlooped I would suggest starting over and reflashing back to stock using the tot or kdz method. Here is a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/restore-verizon-to-stock-t2827878 I know it can be a pain to get the download tool working properly sometimes, so it may take some effort to get it working, but be patient (and read a lot if you get stuck) and you will get it working.
I don't know how you got borked...maybe it was an un-bumped twrp image? Either way, it is what it is, just try not to do it again Good luck.

Thanks much I'll try this

When this happened to me i would
1: remove battery
2: insert battery
3: hold volume down and lock button at the same time
4: When the LG Logo pops up release the lock button for 1 second (while still holding the volume down button), then press down again
5: A data reset/restore menu appears, and when you choose to reset/restore, TWRP boots to recovery.

I realize why it didn't flash. Because I was using an older version of TWRP that wouldn't flash AOSP roms. Is there any way to boot to recovery from the device being off?
The method in the link doesn't seem to work anymore.
How far do you get in the boot? LG screen? When connect to PC do you get connect/disconnect sounds? Please answer the questions as I'm thinking about this. I can't find any key combos so we need to find out if we have a small window where we can talk to ADB.. Any connection sounds? How far do you get?
Are you familiar with ADB and Fastboot?

I don't hear any sounds. It just stays at the LG screen. I made it to the factory reset screen but it didn't do anything. I followed these steps:
Make sure your device is fully charged and turned off.
Simultaneously press and hold the power and volume down buttons.
When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only.
Now press and hold the power and volume up button while keeping your hold on the volume down button.
When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons.
Press the power button to continue.
Press the power button again to confirm if you’re sure you wish to continue with the reset.

I can just send it back but I'd prefer to get it working.

Okay, okay, I dunno what you can do maybe ADB Works in here: Turn off the device AND disconnect from PC. When shut Down, you DONT hold power, but hold Volume up + Volume Down, when you hold both, you plug in USB cable. This takes you to download mode. That is perhaps a step in the right direction if you can start ADB from download mode. Then you can boot into recovery. But I don't know. This is maybe the last option for you. No recovery key combo has been discovered yet. If you can do a fastboot boot recovery from download mode, that would be golden. Then you can use the SD Card to get back with the newest TWRP and the CM11 nightly. Please let me know if this Works man. I'm sorry for your loss, otherwise. Factory Reset, as you said, will not work, since there's nothing to "restore" from. You deleted it. :/
Unfortunately, ADB doesn't work in download mode.

Damn that sucks. I was looking around the G2 forums to see about download mode and what LG usually did with it. Apparently they are using something called KDZ files, and they are able to flash stock roms back onto the device with something called FlashTool. Now, if it were my tablet and it was in the state yours is, I would try and read the tutorial. And then I'd follow it step by step but instead of the G2 KDZ, I'd see if I could find a KDZ with a G Pad rom instead. And just.. Yolo that ****.. From download mode.
Here's the thread, if you wanna read it.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. I dunno man. The LG Tool thing, maybe you should try and see what techrider6262 is saying, he might have an idea as well, otherwise, just go all out crazy and see if you can magically use the FlashTool on your G Pad instead of the G2, since they are from "same line up." I know that's not the same as same model and so on.. But still.. Download mode.. Is download mode. Ofc. the tool itself or the settings in the tool might not work.. But.. You know. Why not.. Can't hurt.. Download mode will prolly still be available afterwards.. "For science."
got the same problem. i couldnt i wiped all data on the tablet and couldnt select the rom from the ext.sd. now its stuck at the lg logo.

This guys.. Is for download mode fix. I am pretty sure this works. Since you have access to Dload mode. Good luck.
I use the download mode to install the original official rom.
1. Download the LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL by this link:http://www.lg.com/us/support-mobile/lg-V500-White
2. install the software in computer, Plug in USB cable with computer, Open the software LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL.
3. Turn off Pad and unplug.
4. press hold both volume up and volume down, Then plug in usb cable, And then pad is in downlaod mode
5. USB driver will be insatlled automatically
6. In LG MOBILE SUPPORT TOOL, click option---.country and language-OK, then click option--upgrade recovery
7. It will installe original official rom automatically.
8. After about 1.5 hours, The pad will be installed the last official room.
^ This is a quote and now I shut down the thread, sorry, don't know who said it, just got stoked when I saw it.
thanks, the tool is downloading the rom. hope its works.

Now remember mate, clear DATA in TWPR, not system.. Never system. Clear only data/factory reset, then just flash CM 11. Nothing else is needed. Remember to install superSU from market after you get booted, otherwise root will not work. Update Binary in SuperSU.
Okay thanks for your help. Its so stupid that there is no key combination for recovery.
I will use your advice and try it later.

There is...
With device powered off do this...
Hold volume key down and press and hold power button.
When LG Logo appears let go of just the power key while still holding the volume key down and then press power key again and volume up while still holding down the volume key.
You get to the factory reset screen and just keep pressing power until you get into recovery.

Warning to everyone please avoid using Freegee Relock feature it can cause semi hardbrick or worst a full hardbrick.
I just had a SEMI NIGHTMARE using Freegee
I installed Freegee, then installed CWM classic installation, everything went fine also made nandroid and efs backup. So I decided to Relock and then "semi hardbrick" happen.
Why Semi Hardbrick because you think you can no longer use the usual Download Mode tricks. (Insert USB, when battery show press the combo key) but that will not happen no matter what you do.
What you see in the screen is a freeze up LG logo with error like secure boot encryption in two lines or something like that.
The hard reset command still work but you cant go any further you will see the error again.
Ok here's the trick and its very tricky its like catching a fly for a Download Mode.
Normally during boot LG logo normally flick twice, then the battery shows if your insert the cable or the animation Logo if loading the system, mine don,t during this trouble time.
What happen that it seems you cant turn off your phone it persist to turn ON with boot encrption error on the screen but to turn OFF you press and hold volume down or up or both and power (this is the key to go Download Mode)
I used the volume down + up and power button
While turning off the device and you think the logo stops showing up release the key then quickly insert usb cable when the LED light turns ON quickly press the Volume UP, DOWN, POWER congrats Download Mode ^_^
I reminder to anyone Please don't use the Freegee Relock function. But if want to witness the near death experience go ahead its safe now ^_^

what i have seen here and done myself, sometimes no matter how smart you are or knowledge you have, one always misses the smallest of the things.
yes if you are plugged in you will have a had time to get into download mode or even recovery. sometimes it just wont enter either.
also sometimes phones seems turned off but its not that's where pressing power for extended times comes up. otherwise it will try to boot on plug.
You are far from hard bricked (that's the good news). If the device turns on at all its not hard bricked. If you are getting a security error its most likely because you uninstalled some system apps and didn't put them back before relocking. You might also have not had a backup of your boot.img. Freegee will restore your phone without a boot.img backup if it can't find it, since at least that would put you close enough to stock if you had to take it in, and you can still use download mode.
You can get to download mode because you see the lge logo, download mode is before that logo in the boot sequence.

[Q] Can't boot to recovery

I have a F400K G3 (Korean Olleh). It's rooted and bumped. I flashed the bumped TWRP image via Flashify and rebooted recovery via Flashify. It works. But when I try boot to recovery from a complete shutdown. It just boots into safe mode. I did exactly what was stated in the Bump thread (Power+V. Down, when logo appears, release then press again quickly) and also tried substituting V. Down button with V. Up, but it still wont boot to recovery. It just keeps going into safe mode. The video provided in the thread was using an AT&T model so maybe it differs from every variant. I want to know if I'm doing something wrong or the instructions are wrong.
Thank you.

I have tried it as well without releasing. Does the same thing. And it never shows the reset screen. It just goes directly to the boot animation. Rebooting from Flashify also doesn't show the reset screen but it does get to TWRP. But I need to boot it from complete shutdown because I'm gonna test a Flashable zip ROM without root so rebooting using Flashify would be impossible.
Bump.
Seriously. Anyone?
I am subscribing because I have the exact same problem. I have tried every key combination I could find for the G2 and G3 but no luck...
This is exactly the kind of problems you get when using stuff like Flashify. The holding of the buttons etc you mentioned should work. Are you sure you aren't connected using a micro usb?

No, I am not connected to USB. If I reflash the recovery using ADB will it work? But I do have some worries because I'm using KitKat bootloader on a Lollipop Stock-based ROM (here) and I think I may get some errors.
It's not very important right now because I have root now and can reboot to recovery using Flashify.
I think all korean models cant enter recovery via hardware keys, mine is F400L and have the same problem.

Has anyone solved this issue?
to get in recovery on F460s, worked on mine, Press Vol-up + Power, as the logo appears release the keys and press Vol-up + Vol-down, you will boot into recovery.
I have the same issue, cant go into recovery using hard buttons on F400K. Any one able to succeed in this?
Same issue on LG G3 F460S, no combination of power + volume buttons + releasing them and pressing again when LG logo appears works. The device go straight into booting system and gets stuck. Is there any other method - maybe short-circuit some pins on the motherboard, to boot into recovery or do a system reset? Please...
OK, turns out that the combination is different for Korean models of G3, as misbah711 wrote, volume UP + power, when logo appears, release and press both volume UP + volume DOWN. If that does not work, try again, but release only the POWER button and press immediately volume DOWN (while volume UP was held all the time). Also, I first tried it without the back cover, as I have to remove battery to turn it off, did not work. Then with the cover it did, not sure if it's an important detail or not.
However it's not the end of the story for me. An image with Korean text appears, and nothing. No combination of power and volume buttons pressing does anything. I'm attaching the image. Also tried a web service to do Korean OCR and then used Google Translate - does not make any sense. Could anyone advise how to proceed and do a factory reset on this device? It won't boot into the system (gets stuck), no adb or any other communication with it.
Edit:
Turns out that when the Korean text appears and I connect USB cable to my PC, adb works correctly. Typed:
adb reboot recovery
The phone rebooted into recovery and now I'm doing a factory reset on it. Looks like all will be fine.
i have d851 on stock kitkat. I flashed TWRP and Philz but no way i can get into recovery mode. it always goes to fastboot mode no matter how I reboot into recovery. Now i am looking for stock recovery image. or a way to fix the twrp/philz. ROM boots just fine.

[Q] Need Help - SM T705 stuck on start up screen.

Greetings XDA Developers,
Newbie here. I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (SM T705). I was able to root it a few weeks ago and I decided to install a custom recovery (TWRP) using an app from the Playstore named "TWRP Manager". I didn't hesitate to do so using this method because I was able to install TWRP on my GT I9300 successfully from the past using this app. However, after being prompted by the app that the recovery was successfully installed and needs to reboot the device, my tab was stuck on start up screen ( See attached photo ). I tried long pressing the power button but nothing happened. I waited until the device ran out of battery and when it did, I plugged in the charger and I'm back at the same screen. After google-ing some possible solutions, I tried to boot it into recovery but was unsuccessful, however, I was able to boot into download mode.
I'd like to ask for the help of some "experienced" users in this forum on how to solve this problem. And if possible, I'm hoping that flashing a stock recovery using Odin wouldn't be my last resort.
Thank you in advance.

Your going to need some fast hands for this one! I've ran into this lots of times when testing kernels and such. Any force reboot by holding Power Button+ Home Button + BOTH Volume buttons all at the same time. Press and hold that combo until the screen goes black. Then once the screen goes black quickly press and hold Power Button+ Home Button + Volume down buttons all at the same time. You should no enter into download mode. You said that you drained the battery so I would suggest charging it in download mode for 30 minutes or so then flash TWRP with Odin.
Your going to need to flash stock recovery or TWRP with Odin to override the boot and get it working
The TWRP app doesn't always work in which is why I use Odin.

As a side note for future reference, hard reset is simply hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
As said all you need do is boot to download mode and flash recovery.
If you're on lollipop you may need to immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. But how exactly do I "immediately boot into recovery after flashing to make it stick." Since after I flash recovery via odin, it would obviously automatically reboot my device? sorry for the dumb question.

You either be quick and hold POWER + HOME + VOL UP as soon as it reboots or you uncheck auto reboot in Odin then restart manually.

H815 Soft bricked(?) adb shows device offline

Soo.... I messed up and edited the build.prop specificly the ro.build.type property. I tried to enable some debug options without validating if this would be a good idea (hint: it's not).
It seems that this has bricked my phone, the first LG splash screen shows up with the powered by android, and the second animation just keeps loading forever (making the phone very hot). And the LED flashes blue continously.
I did manage to get the device visible in ADB but it tells me that the device is offline so I can't do anything with it.
Tried booting in recovery mode (holding power button + volume down) but it just own't go into recovery mode.
Some extra info of what runs on my phone:
- version H815
- Android 6.0
- bootloader unlocked
- TWRP installed
- Rooted
- XPosed installed
Any idea on what I could try to fix it? (I guess stuck with a brick but oh well).
Thanks!

I meant that it just boots 'normally' when I press those buttons, it shows me the first LG logo and the second animation just hangs, whatever I do. I tried all sorts of combinations with the power button + volume down. (Keeping it pressed, briefly letting it go after the lg logo and repressing them).

I don't know exactly which firmware I was on but I can't even get my phone into download mode (same as my other response, pressing volume up doesn't do anything).
The recovery and download mode used to work but I have no idea why it doesn't now...
When booting the phone, hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously, when LG logo appear, push the power button again. You should see the white screen, where you choose "YES" twice. Then the phone should kick you into TWRP or different recovery mode.
But how the hell editing build.prop can mess with recovery and download mode? Sounds incredible

Maybe he has bootloop issue... ILAPO
Yeah I have no idea why the buttons aren't working for me. After a lot of searching I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/soft-bricked-device-t3248144
Which is basicly the same thing I'm experiencing, ADB comes online for just a brief second (kept spamming the reboot recovery command) and got in TWRP and I just flashed another which worked fine.
Odd thing is, even now my phone works I can't start recovery or download with the hardware buttons...... oh well, thankfully adb works as it's supposed to.
Thank you all for your help!
