Install ICS on GT-I9100G

Hello everyone. I guess I am not wrong in running out of patience while waiting for Samsung to roll out the ICS Update to Galaxy S2, in India at least. I have been looking at ways to do that for my GT-I9100G but for some reason wherever I go to on google or youtube talks about GT-I9100 and not the build I need. Can anyone help me on this. My phone is running Build XWLC2, Kernel 2.6.35.7. Thanks everyone.

Hi Lavjain
The ICS update for the i9100G version officially out. It isn't available just yet in all countries, many countries have already got it. Im sure India too will get in a few days.
I suggest you keep checking out login to your twitter account and search for 'i9100g ics' in the searchbox and you will see the latest updates regarding it.
you can also follow the official samsung india twitter account @samsung_india
They will post the update when its out.
Its very frustrating to wait so long when the i9100 model gets the update and the 'G' users have to wait.
If you google the differences between the two, you will see that the CPU and GPU are slightly in terms of Speed. However the i9100g Never heats up like the i9100 model and Samsung has corrected some internal errors with the i9100 model. I personally find the i9100G better. Its more stable and never overheats.
which country?

Hi friend...
If you are still on stock, can you please connect your phone and check if the ICS is now available for the phone. I cannot check as I am on custom ROM. Yesterday My phone connected to the update servers and there was a tick on the notification area icon of updates. I think Samsung might have rolled out the ICS. Please check and revert.
Thanks in advance

[Q] Who already have JB?

Hello
i am wondering if there is any update delay depending when did you buy the phone...
i mean, those who have bought the phone earlier will get the update before those who bought it later?
and i am stricly speaking of NOT ROOTED, no custom ROM devices!
PS: i bought it 3 week ago and still nothing...
Updates are usually first pushed to unbranded devices by region i.e Europe, Asia etc... and then to the carriers so they can add there bloat ware and from there to the customer.
Jelly Bean has not yet been officially realised yet, it should come towards the end of this month
You can find out more by searching XDA and Google!

yeah OK, but other forums said it is rolling ou this october... we are almost at the half of October and i am getting nervous...
anyway! is ther any possibility of a delay depending on the time of bought (or the day the device was produced)???
PS: BTW i have an unbranded device
Updates are not depending on the date you bought the device. It's only depends on the region of your phone.
Please .... google and/or HTC please do NOT announce any update anymore in advance !!! It floods the forum with a lot of questions and insinuations !!! I'm really going nuts everytime i open xda to see another question how do i update my hboot, how do i flash JB !

Discussion - No love for F460?

Hi, I see leaked ROMs, kernels and ported roms for all other models, but absolutely nothing for F460, not even from LG's side. It's their latest and most powerful model, sold in their home country yet it is very abandoned.
Anyone has news about this device getting some care?
Looks like f460 is North Korean version
bump.
would love to see lollipop roms. all we have for the time being is Sphinx.
Well, looks like Korean models will get an update this weekend, hopefully that includes cat6.
http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g3-android-lollipop-korea-569240/
bump.... still nothing
This is one of the reasons that I sold my F460S. I was hoping for TWRP which didn't happen while I had the phone. Since its the least common variant of the G3 it doesn't get as much attention as the F409 or D850/855/851/852 models. It was a great phone while I had it (my 3rd model G3 I had) but I have since moved on to the Nexus 6.
I recently sold my D850 as well because I realized that I appreciate stock Android much more even though I still think the G3 is my favorite non Nexus phone. I hope that some devs will support it in the future, but I doubt it. Its like getting support for the Note 4 (Korea only SD810 mode) that's coming out in a month. It likely won't get a lot of development because it's a Samsung and because its a limited release like the F460.
you got rooms for this model en lgviet and sccn webpage, i know that's not an english language page but its a "Korean version phone". Remember u can use google translator xD. I actually update to lollipop, the only problem with the phone is the overheat....

Taking matters in own hands.

Since it is under big question mark if GT i9301i and dual sim brother will get any update we should as title says "take matters int our own hands" and ask/demand from Samsung update. There isnt any reason why we shouldnt get one since GT i9301i didnt get any update since launch.I dont know about you but i bought device mainly because Samsung have 18 months update policy for devices and i was sick of bad support from manufacturers (LG on first place).Device can handle 5.x , we can handle it there fore we should get it If anyone know where i should send mails asking for it please reccomend me so i can do it .In my county samsung support is almoust none so we must adress Samsung France-England -Germany.Write a petition if we must.At least this is my opinion.

Seriously i am with you but i don't know what to do. What about Samsung Service Centres or outlets? Can we submit a complaint or something in written there?
And i am also disappointed with samsung's behaviour. Our device is a successor of their legendary S3 variant and what they have done? They haven't done anything for us.
Yes i will tomorow or day after submit customer complain to Samsung about not updating S3 Neo.Also our device is midrange so that it 1 more thing why they should update it.If it were low end i whould understand but it it not.But first we need to gather more people and see what they think of this. it whould be great if we could sign letter with "S3 Neo XDA comunity" instead of just 1-2 people.
I'm with you..it's a samsung's duty update our device

I cannot agree with you. You must know something for Samsung - for S7500 Ace Plus they NEVER update the phone to JB 4.x.x! even when they said will do it officially! So even for low-end must have updates, after all all people who choose the brand is customers. I'm right?
PS - thanks again to big abicious sir Rox!

lg gpad8.3 offical lolipop?

does anyone know if lg will be globally releasing an official lollipop for the wifi variant (v500) ? contacted lg Australia and the rep didnt really know . I tried the Korean lollipop kdz but i didnt like it cause of the Korean region specific additions (remote ,etc). Have other regions received the wifi variant lollipop update ? also has official support for the device stopped ( no new software updates ?) thanks
*searched and didn't find a similar thread so i thought i would ask
If LG doesn't know, there's no way an XDA user knows. People can only speculate.
Probably not. This is a fairly old tablet by now, and as much as I love it, and it still performs smoothly, I ultimately believe LG has stopped support for it. You might just as well use the Korean build and just disable the stuff you don't like, at the end of the day, the only remnants that can't go away are the Won symbol instead of $ on the keyboard shortcuts and the Kweather source instead of Accuweather.
I doubt it @keith456.
I didn't like that ROM either, I thought the hardware should have made the device feel quicker. I was about to flash a Slim build on it when the Marshmallow build turned up so I put that on it. I'd suggest trying that, I've been very impressed with it so far. Obviously it's a bit more involved than staying official but if you've had the tablet for a while you're probably out of warranty already.
Agree, I flashed Marshmallow and i'm totally satisfied
