This all started today outta nowhere. When I'm on WiFi, load times are pretty slow. For example, loading new tweets on Twitter, new posts on Facebook, going on websites on Chrome, exc. Everything that has to do with the internet and loading, it's pretty slow. And I know it's WiFi, because when I turn off WiFi and go back to LTE, the phone loads normally.
Already tried:
Speed testing on WiFi, and it's the normal speed of 60Mb/s
Restarting the phone
Clearing cache on recovery
You guys got any idea?
Mine is fine with an Apple Airport Extreme.

Can you download a Speed Test application and post a screenshot of the results when you are connected to Wi-Fi?
"Based on what you've said there's a good chance your issue is related to the bugged Android System Webview update. Could you look under App Manager > All and see if you're running version 37 or 42?
If it's 42 try rolling back to v37 by uninstalling it from either the app manager or play store. The newest version has been giving a lot of people issues."

I have been having some major problems with my EVO regarding the data. If I use anything that is on the heavy side of bandwidth, like downloading a file from android marketplace, surfing the web, watching sprint tv, using the GPS, etc...the data will just time out for about 3 min at a time. For instance if I am downloading a 5mb app from android marketplace, it will maybe download a megabyte, then it will just stop downloading. If you look at the 3G symbol at the top, it will be white, but only the upstream indicator will be on. I can then open any other internet application on the phone, and nothing will work. It usually lasts for about 3 minutes at a time and happens fairly regularly. It will end up taking me 15-20 min to download a 5mb file from the marketplace. Same thing if I browse a bandwidth heavy site like digg.com. It will just time out after a while and it will just show the upstream indicator as solid and not do anything in any program.
This problem is not location dependent. I have this issue at my apartment, at work, at my friend's house, at the Sprint store...anywhere.
In chronological order, this is what I have done to troubleshoot/fix the problem:
First noticed problem
Turned off phone/Turned back on
Rooted and installed custom version of 2.1 w/ Sense
Removed battery (power cycle)
Talk to Sprint cust care. They sent signal over that reactivated the phone (2x)
Did factory reset on phone and formatted SD card
Swapped phone at Sprint store with new one
So even after swapping my EVO with a new EVO from the Sprint store and not fooling with the phone at all, I am still having the same exact issue.
I am absolutely at wit's end with this and I have no idea what to do at this point.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does this happen over wifi too, or only 3g?

This post brought to you by my EVO 4G, by XDA-Tapatalk, and by Swype.
Thats a good question. I dont have a wifi connection to try it on at home because I keep my wifi on 5ghz N. I will take it to a friend's house and try.
yeah good luck testing it with WIFI. I'd say my WIFI is about 10 times less reliable than 3G.
I have not been able to test with Wifi yet, but I just had one of my coworkers that has the same phone to replicate the issue on his phone. He is having the same exact problem.
We set our phones next to each other and downloaded Space Buster 3D Lite off the Android Marketplace. Mine crapped out about 2mb in and so did his. He wasnt able to surf or do anything else on his phone for a few minutes just like mine.
I'm wondering if this a network problem in our area or if there is a problem with the phone.
Also, I downloaded a continuous ping program and did 3,000 pings with no packet loss, so it seems to only happen with heavy data usage ie. saturating your bandwidth.
Either way, it makes me feel a lot better to see this problem happening with other people lol
dude... i was just about to post a thread on this. im tearing my hair out with this horrible horrible problem. tmobile was better and more consistent its ridiculous...
i'm having the exact same problems, and not only just this, but i'm sending and receiving texts hours and hours off... its just not instant. wheerever i am. and sometimes i'm sending a text and this data "blackout" happens. also when i'm receiving texts i can't send texts out at the same time.. the phone gives me sms errors and then the data timeouts for minutes.. i have to wait minutes to resend the texts or use data..
Well it turns out that my friend that got this phone too is having the same exact problem......
WTF is going on here? Can people test this on their phones? Just try downloading a large file (5mb+) off android marketplace 2-3 times and watch the download. See if it stops or says download paused. Then try surfing the web when this happens.
Including myself, thats 3/3 people that are having this problem that I know personally.

I have no issues downloading large files, maybe it is location based?
It appears the OTA update that was released today fixed the problem. I've been running Sprint TV for about 4 hours with no issues. Thank god...I was about to cancel my service over this.
Hi guys, got an issue with my phone recently, 3G/H has been extremely slow using web browsing apps lately.
It's fine on other apps and if I run an app like speedtest or even facebook in the background the web app will run fine as long as speedtest is doing its thing.
I have no issue when on wifi.
Reseting the phone and clearing app data makes no difference.
My phone has the latest software.
Was fine till about 3 weeks ago.
Phone is 3 months old, this is the first issue.
Have tested with stock browser, dolphin and chrome.
I think this is a really strange issue.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam.
may be the problem of the telecom operators
I had the same probs up to a couple of days ago but since i updated to the latest radio (2.1204.127.19) my internet connection probs have gone...
not sure if that's your solution though as you say you have the latest software ... ?
Hello don't you have a data limitation ?
I have 1 Go data limitation. After that my browser seems to be slow but it's because i'm limited in data bandwith.
I don't have anymore my full speed until next month ...
Make sure you don't have this limitation too.
Other apps that don't need "speed" datas will not show any problem
because they only download a little amount of datas at once ( weather for example ).
Does speedtest shows a low speed ?
Prbably not my povider as it's only the web browser apps.
I'm on 1.29.862.11
It won't be data limit, i don't get near it and it doesn't slow down anyway, they just charge me more.
Speedtest shows same as always between 3 and 6 Mbps
So my nexus 7 has been working great. I decided to try out the nightly for CM 10.2 and when I found out that the USB port wasn't working yet so I decided to go back to factory.
So I bring it back to factory and I notice that downloading playstore apps is going to take 4-6 hours per app. I reboot, and one app downloads very quickly and then I'm back to 5-6 hours per app. I grab my daughters nexus 7 2013 and hers is working just fine. So that narrows down router/internet connection.
So I go to get a file through the web browser. Same thing. I browse websites very quickly though and other things not directly related to downloading seem to work at expected speeds. Switching the wifi off and then back on gets my download working for about 1-2 minutes before it slows right back down.
I tried turning off various settings for wifi under advanced and switching off the gps. I tried different versions of the razor factory images. The issue seems to persist. I tried changing my DNS servers from opendns to google. I tried installing the latest playstore apk.
I have found a few posts around the Internet with people have similar issues but nobody has been troubleshooting the issue as thoroughly. How could I generate some logs for this issue that might lead me to some answers?
Over the past couple of weeks my Nexus 7 (2013) has slowed to a crawl when I try to use the internet. It takes a good 15-20 seconds to load a page. I've tried a bunch of different things like restarting, clearing the cache, changing settings, etc, but I can't get it back to the lightning speeds it was before. The tablet itself works fine--other apps load at normal speed, with the exception of things that require the internet (like Google Play which has a few seconds delay or Tumblr, which will usually load text posts, but not images/gifs). I'm super frustrated! All of my other devices (Android phone, laptop) work fine with my wifi, and this is a fairly new problem).
Please help!

Do yourself a favor and disconnect EVERYTHING from the router, and then connect JUST the nexus to see if it's the router. If it's fast again, then that's your problem. If not, you can start to troubleshoot the tablet.
How many devices are connected to your WiFi at once?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
We have a bunch of stuff connected to the wifi--a couple of computers, two phones, my tablet--but it's very rare that they're all being used at once. I still experience the same speed problem even when I know I'm the only one using the internet.
When you say disconnect everything from the internet, do you mean like turning off the wifi on my phone? (Sorry, excuse my ignorance!)

Try just unplugging your router from power for 10 seconds then plug it back in and check it.
Out of nowhere my Galaxy S20+ (G985F) stopped loading anything from the internet in many apps. Both when connected to wi-fi and 4G.
Firefox won't load any pages, reddit app won't load anything, Steam app won't load anything, wallpaper apps won't load anything...
Whatsapp and Instagram are working properly though.
I didn't do anything to the phone today and it was working normal until an hour or two ago. I have tried restarting the phone.
Should I wipe cache?
Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Any solutions?
EDIT: well damn, I just figured it out. It was Blokada. I disabled it and now everything is back to normal. Weird, I didn't receive any updates from it and it never gave me issues before.
