I used to have the Samsung Galaxy S4 and it had the AT&T logo when i was with At&T. I just got the Note 4 with Verizon but i dont see the carrier logo on the top left hand corner in the notification bar. Anyone know how i can turn it on or something? Thanks,
It's at the bottom when you pull down the notification from the top ..? If that what your talking about

Im not talking about when you pull it down. I mean just when its at the top.
Oh ..well since kit Kat on the Verizon note 3 or 4 never saw that sorry
Oh okay, thanks. I was just wondering if there is an option where I can it? Thanks,
Why in the world would you want it on? Verizon's name is on this device enough. I surely don't want to see it all the time on my screen. Not to mention it just takes up space where notifications could be.

A friend has recently updated her Galaxy Nexus phone to 4.1.2 According to her, the screen is now much smaller with big thick black lines at the top and bottom of the home screen. Ideas on what the problem is, how to fix it?

Hmm thats strange. Is it a ROM? If it is, wipe completely and choose a different one. If its OTA, then I have no idea. That's very strange.

Like what happens when iPhone app isn't optimized for 4 inch screen? That's weird. Never heard anything like that. I personally don't have it, but my friend has 4'1'2 and no problems there
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
that's not right at all... is it stock and updated to 4.1.2 via an OTA? Never heard of that problem.
Problem is taken care of. Until I was able to look at the phone for myself I wasn't able to 'verify' the problem. From what she was saying and what I saw, was two different things. In essence, it looks like the dock bar get's a little larger in 4.1.2 (Yes this is stock, unrooted. Mine is anything but, so I can't compare with hers.) and the shifting of the other icons threw her for a loop. So I installed Nova Launcher and now it looks more like it used to. Plus she loves the idea of having those extra grids and more.
Thanks for everyone's help, but it seems as if it was a false alarm. Gotta love non tech friendly friends.
Hello All,
I was wondering. Is there a way to replace the AT&T carrier logo on the top left corner of the note 2? I've searched the web for 2 days now and all the ways I've found don't work.
It's strange I don't see that logo very often. It sometimes shows up during restart. But then it disappeared. So I am never bothered.

Mine doesn't show up either.

I've included a screenshot of it. It is usually there when notifications is cleared. which I tend to do due to my OCD...

in tw_statusbar.xml from systemui.apk, I think. (Typing from memory) It should only appear if there's no notifications also there (which makes it less intrusive.)

So this is my second s4 ge. The first one had issue with LTE antenna and would not connect. I received a replacement phone today and noticed that screen is blessing at button with a slight blue/purple hue. Basically as you get to bottom of screen there is a blueish discolormint.
Do you think that will go away or do I need to ask for another replacement

Mine is completely black even with the backlight cranked to the max, so I'd say yes on the replacement!

Not to sound like a wise guy, but are you sure it's not the "over scroll" effect? When you scroll up or down and hit the end or the beginning of the page?

I had a Galaxy nexus that had a blue hue at the top of the screen. It never went away until I got my G S4. Replace it.

lol, good catch. I would have never thought of that.

Lol. It's not a scroll bounce. It has it when just looking at screen. This sucks. I'm just tired of setting up the phone so many times

Seems to be a common problem, I had two units with the same issue.
Still haven't found one with a perfect screen. I know they are out there.

I just noticed today that there's some clouding/image retention on my 4 days old Samsung Galaxy S9+!!
It's only visible under dark environment and only in the "Unlock" screen (when it dims the brightness). To replicate this, make sure you have a darkesh plain wallpaper with one of the security locks turned on (pin, pattern, iris, or face), swipe the screen to show the chosen unlock method. This is when you can spot the clouding/image retention/burn-in on the top status bar. This problem appears to correlate directly to the status icons (time, notifications and carrier name).
Another colleague of mine has a S9, and it has the same problem! The phone shown on the photo is actually his, but mine exhibits the exact same problem. See attached photos.
Does anyone else notice this?
I see it on mine too, but that's not the image retention or burn in. It's too early to get burn in only after using it for a few days. I think it's just the software try to blur the status bar icons. You can try display different thing on it and the blurry white cloud will display.
I see this on mine also, but raksan is correct: it is just software blurring to hide the icons.
Try this: play a YT video in 16:9 ratio. Don't expand it to the whole screen and leave the black bars. You'll see that there is no burn-in/image retention on those black bars.

You're welcome! Nice to see you!
They should probably just hide the icons instead of pseudo hiding them and freaking customers out though. I bet they'll get enough calls over time where they'll push a small update. Lol
This is on mine as well but not just the task bar but the navigation bar as well. Still just the software?
Nope, it's burned in which is bs. I switched the nav bar directions and the back and recent buttons are still showing where they were in the burn. If it were ghosting then they should've switched as well.

Then you must leave your screen on 24/7 and never turn it off. If you don't, then it's not going to burn-in that quickly.

Well I don't and it did. I'm not going to complain about something if it were my fault. And I can see things around here haven't changed....

No I guess they haven't changed, there are still people posting on here that complain, point fingers, and immediately put blame on the hardware.

Friggin wasichu lol. Pathetic is replying to something you have no clue about and thinking a phones software can't get messed up. No clue what the problem is, but grow the f up
