Hi I've been trying to install a recovery for a long time using Windows and even a mac but I'm having no luck. My LG g pad is rooted. Is there a way to flash loki to bypass the bootloader and install a recovery. I tried flashify but it did not use loki automatically like it claimed. Please help. Thanks

Hello i have LG Optimus G E977 and i root it using motochopper method but it is only for Root it does not install a custom recovery so i can instal custom roms so how do i do that?
I tried installing CWM for the E975 using Rom Manager app and it says that it was installed but when i boot to the recovery i get this error.
"Secure booting error! Cause : boot certification verify", then i need to use the LG Support Tool to return to stock and unroot.
What Custom Recovery will work on E977 and how do i install it after root?

Mate, you should've posted in the Q&A thread, NOT the Development thread. Install FreeGee from PlayStore, run the program to unlock your bootloader (if it doesn't support your software version, upload the .img through FreeGee so they can hopefully work on it), then install TWRP/CWM. It's a very simple process. And yes, you'd be needing root for that.
There is your answer. Better read before doing proceedures you don't know.
excuse me, im new on LG devices and i have a LG G-pad v500 running stock no root, no recovery.
I read some threat in this forum, and found some info about gpad, it seem our gpad have locked bootloader, we cant unlock, only bypass to flash custom rom, kernel.
Can you guys provide me a working method to root, recovery and bypass bootloader ( i found some, but not sure which is safe or not)
and i wonder after bypass, we safe to flash any rom, kernel or not? any notice about bypass method every flash a custom zip?
thank you guys
best regard
To Root: Download Kingo Root and install on your laptop or computer. Run the program and get root.
To Comfirm Root: Download the app "Root Checker"
To Install Recovery: Download and install AutoRec (just google it) and run the program.
NOTE: You don't need to run a program to bypass the bootloader because I think TWRP installer does it for you.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

AutoRec is not for the v500!
And Kingo ROOT doesn't work with the v500 either.
What a useless post.
Oh that's right. Sorry my mistake. AutoRec will not work for the V500. It's for the LG G2 but I know that Kingo ROOT does (as I have done it myself three times). For installing the recovery, you can install Flashify from the Play store and it should work, depending on what model of the G Pad you have. It worked for me though.
I rooted friends tmo g3 couple days ago and didn't have enough time to help him out with recovery etc.. I can simply flash recovery via adb or via twrp's app?
his firmware is 20e something like that.
Thanks guys
The easiest method is via TWRP Manager...

Thanks I assume bootloader or anything is not locked and I can do it as easily as allowing root access to TWRP manager. Correct?
That's right
just installed 6.0 on my lg g3 d855 32gb
trying to root and install a custom recovery but not able to. used the method with kingroot then installing supersu from twrp but then when booted supersu keeps asking to update binary and then freezes. am using the v30b-global-com version
any straight forward way to do it? without kingroot
i dunno if that's weird, but i can't even enter the fastboot to install the recovery using fastboot command

1) Fastboot doesnt work on LG G3 because it bootloader isnt natively unlocked
2) Please do not install TWRP on your current firmware. You will brick your phone
If you need TWRP you must downgrade to KitKat before you can install it.
I did install twrp and it booted normally. Using kingroot and a method i found on the forum. But the problem was with supersu that it kept asking to update binary which never happened. Anyways thanks for the reply. Phone not with me anymore

You must be on lollipop. You have to be on the kitkat bootloader to run custom recovery/roms.
Do not try to replace kingroot with supersu. That has been reported to brick this tablet.
Since you seem to be on rooted lollipop, the only guy left who seems to be interested in maintaining LOS for the V400/410 has said he'd like to get the LP blobs. A system dump would be helpful, if you'd be willing to pull it and share it. This should pull it:
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system of=/sdcard/system.img
People have successfully downgraded the V410 from lollipop to kitkat using the kdz for the V411. There is a test kdz for the V410 too, but it makes a mess of the internal storage and has some other issues. I wouldn't recommend the V410 kdz since we have a better alternative.
Once you're on stock kitkat, you can root it with purpledrake. Then use flashify to flash TWRP and flash away.
