Does anybody have any tips on cleaning the tiny speaker holes at the top and bottom of the phone?
They're far too small to fit anything in there and I don't want to risk damaging any components.
Suggestions?
I've seen some folks use a toothbrush on my previous device forum (One X EVITA). Although others have raised the point that this is just pushing any debris into the phone, which is true.

silly putty or play doe should work with taking the dirt or lint out and not pushing it in.

You can get cyberclean, is a goo that can into the speakers and clean them.

I wouldnt touch the speaker or any of it component, this phone is water resistant and whatever you do might ruin that.

Put your mouth over the hole and suck in really hard, but try not to choke on the fluff.
Warning: I will not be held resonsible for any death cause by this technique.

Or this...
step 1Cut The Cue Tip
Cut the Cue Tip with the knife, or what ever you are using to cut, to desire thickness, but make sure that the Cue Tip can fit in the jack.
step 2Dip The Cue Tip
Dip the Cue Tip into 1 cap-full of Rubbing Alcohol. Make sure that the Cue Tip is soaked, but not enough to drip all over the place.
step 3Cleaning The Jack
WITH THE DEVICE TURNED OFF, stick the Cue Tip into the headphone jack and twist it around to rub all the sides of the jack. Then, let the jack dry and, there you go! One clean headphone jack.

Get one of these... They are called
The "Interdental Brush" is the key. You would be familiar with them if you ever had braces or have dentures. It is an inexpensive brush made for cleaning in tricky spaces in the mouth. It is inexpensive, refillable and easily gotten. The other thing you need is "rubbing" or isopropyl alcohol that is 70% or greater. You will notice in the picture that the brush is roughly the same size as the headphone plug.
Hi!
I'm an owner of the HTC One X and I'm also a clean freak!
I noticed that the back marks really easily and the only way of cleaning it I have found so far is to use window cleaner, but I'm worried it will damage the material. Does anybody have any ideas?
Also, dust and dirt get into the gaps between the screen and the bezel, as well as inside the front facing camera. Once again, any ideas?
I'd be happy to hear any suggestions or any other troubles people have had cleaning it.
Thank you!

I used some post-it notes and carefully cleaned out the dust. If anything gets stick in the speaker holes then you can use the sticky part of a post-it to remove it.
Don't go nuts though and really jam in the paper as you might get it stuck then tear it or you may push dust further into the phone.
There is a paper tape. It is very good suction dust >>> People still use it to suck the dust particles remaining on the screen before applying the protective sheet.
I think the measures are very good so you can remove dust in crevices on your device.
Thanks, it works!
The problem is I used a pin before and I think I've pushed a lot in too far.
I guess I messed up.
What colour phone do you have?

I have been using "Pledge clean and dust multi-surface Original" for a couple of years to clean my notebook including the screen and and other electronics including my mobile phones it works great, also it cheap to buy, just make sure you spay a small amount onto a cloth and not on the item to be cleaned.
It says it for metal, electronic, glass and wood on the can.

You could test it by spraying some on an old junk CD/DVD that you don't want. The One X case is polycarbonate and so are CDs/DVDs. The exact recipe of polycarbonate isn't going to be the same but if the cleaner damages the CD/DVD then it isn't going to be a good idea to try it on the One X.
for daily cleaning the DHD official case with microfiber internals is doing wonders
sadly a little bit of the phone remains out of it like 5-10%
I got the white one x and typically use just water and microfiber cloth. If water doesn't do the trick I use eye glass solution. Seems to work fine.

I have the white HTC One X, and I work building and fitting sheds and gates ( so a lot of dirt ). I picked up my phone after a days work and the back just got covered in dirt finger prints/smudges, and i know this sounds ridiculous, but the next day they were all gone and the phone was as clean as new... Thanks HTC for the self cleaning phone

The only time I have noticed it got dirty was the first time taking it into work, once it 'self cleaned' it has never had dirt smudges on it since ( not from memory anyway), strange I know, I'm not mad...
OP, Google a product called Cyber Clean. It's similar to silly puddy. You smear it on your phone. Once you remove the goo, it picks up most of the hard to reach dust particles. You can get it at most computer stores.

I was using some liquid eyeglass cleaner on my screen and some must have leaked in to the display. A dark grey blob started from the left of the display and gradually began moving toward the center, shrinking as it made its way across the screen. It ended up disappearing overnight and there's no sign that it was ever there. Moral of the story? 1) Be careful with liquid cleaners and 2) the display's not entirely or well sealed.
my phone started entering car mode randomly the past two days i have deleted the app very long time ago i did a fresh install with no change, i do work at an iron pipe making factory so my guess is tiny iron powder particles in the usb port. any one can help thx
I've been having similar problems with the s2 and it seems common here. They advise to give the USB port a good clean with some alcohol and if it still gives problems it will most probably need a new port.

but the usb port is so small do i need to use only a tooth peak or what?
Yes, compressed air works a treat too, I think you can buy small tins of it from stationary shops, they use it to clean keyboards etc........... in fact don't you have any compressed air systems at your work?
Give it a quick blast if you do to get the dust out, if that doesn't work its most likely broken, replacements are cheap off eBay if you fit it yourself but if you take it to a shop they may charge a lot more up to £50 at some of the rip off shops round my way. If that's the case you may as well save the cash to put towards an upgrade unless you can get it done real cheap.

i can use compressd air but my only concern is to not blow the particles too dip in, and one other thing any suggestion on cleaning both speakers they got stuff in to them a swell, only thing is to not take the phone apart ;]

Strong magnet for built up metal dust removal. Beware though when using for loud speaker as speakers are magnetic and if done for excessive amount of time may damage the speaker.
Cotton buds
Damp rolled up tissue/toilet roll (rolled between fingers )
Forum fishing.... Who's biting!
the phone also got the loudspeker call bug (usb short fo shure), today i used a magnet and vacum cleaner to clean it there were alote of iron particles in there and now it seems to work fine thx to both of u ;]
edit: started doing it again ;[ will send it for rep i gues
Hey guys
Does anyone know any way to clean the grill of the earpiece? It has gathered enough dust to drive me crazy. I tried with a toothbrush but I think I made it worse, if that's even possible. The toothbrush was the perfect way for my M7-8-9 but the 10's earpiece is not in the same line with the screen.
Thanks in advance

I use blu-tac and it cleaned it pretty effectively.
You have to make the blu-tac quite soft first, just by squeezing it and moving it about in your hand. Then push the blu-tac into the grill, quite forcefully so it gets into the holes. Then remove, any tac that remains can be dabbed out.
This YouTube video shows it quite well. Skipped the rubbish chat
Isn't it super easy to have blue tac stuck in there after that;

I was quite successful. No blu-tac remained
A small issue thats bugging me is that the top speaker grill gets easily clogged up when using the phone. as they are so small to even clean correctly and already mines looking horrible and dirty but no way to get into the grills to pick it clean or blow it out.
a fine needed however slow and sometimes painful as the needle needs to be so small you end up hurting your thumb.
tape over the grill doesnt seem to be collecting it
ive read compressed air may not work if it cant blow it up due to the size.
The only thing i can think of would be something like cyber clean putty so has anyone got some and does it work?

Worth trying a Dyson vacuum or the likes
I have a normal Dyson but and tried it but doesnt seem strong enough to get it out the gril. hair products probally didnt help the grill
I have an Axon 7 and I heard using a clean toothbrush to clean the speakers helps. Maybe the same can be done on the Razer phone
I have used a strong magnet to get metal and a kneaded eraser to get some of the rest. I would not use compressed air, blowing into the speakers may ruin it.
Flicking the holes with a needle a few times and then a very soft tooth brush has worked good enough nice to have a pair of awesome speakers again
Try getting a small bristles paint brush guys, I've had front firing speakers on phones since the HTC One M7 and it works so well

Thanks for the tip, got it looking a lot cleaner now with a normal tooth brush but had to apply a little more pressure and cover screen just to prevent any damage
Another method i found useful is using those sticky gel to pick up the dirt, works for me, call Gulu cleaner gel, pick them up from amazon real cheapie
