So, I've just recently lent my phone to a friend, and after he played it for about 4 hours straight, now, there are some black pixels on the screen. I already tested it with dead pixel test, and voila, it is a dead pixel, and it's not a stuck pixel.
can we actually do something about these pixels, or should I just replace the lcd screen?
thanks for your help
Hi. I have discovered two dead pixels on my screen: One in the middle and the other closer to an edge.
I am going to return the phone, but, before ordering a replacement, I would like to know if it's a common occurrence. Possibly, batch related?
Best way to check for a defective pixel is to:
Increase brightness to the max (uncheck auto brightness)
Download and install a free app called Dead Pixel Test by UJACHA from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwxLDIxMiwibmV0LnVqYWNoYS5kZWFkcGl4ZWwiXQ..
Cycle through the colors and inspect the screen.
Warning: Dead pixels cannot be unseen
didn't find any dead pixels. But I do have the smearing issue
None here! Love this phone

No one here. :good:
Nope, good to go.
Thanks everybody. looks like I am safe to order a replacement as it's likely not first batch related.
I have dead pixels
Hello,
I have the same problem. I have 6 (YES 6!!) pixel dead on my Samsung Galaxy S4
I buy it the launch day.
I don't know if they are dead since day 1. They are soooooo small. At first, i did not see them. But after I see one, i used a grey background color and start to find few of them. I used a program to restore dead pixel, it basicly flash all colors for 30 min, without success
This phone is really the best phone I ever had and pixels are so small it's hard to see it, but i'm a little bit dissapointed.
To see if you have dead pixels, I strongly recommand to use the grey background, then wait on night or before you go sleep when is dark in your room, you will find them only at this moment. On daylight it's almost impossible to see, unless you know exactly were they are.

Looks good to me. Wicked v3+Ktoons=A freaking monster!!!!

Hey,
I was just sitting at the computer and I look at my phone. All of a sudden it shows the bootscreen("Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100" etc).
I felt like... huh that's weird, well maybe something went wrong with Vodafone(They had problems with phones rebooting when getting the network settings for their National Alert system). After having the screen stuck at boot for like 30 seconds I took a closer look. That's when I really freaked out. All of a sudden all kinds of pixels slowly started getting all kinds of red, blue or green colors. Fast I turned off the phone(Power button didn't work even if I held it for 8 seconds). So I took out the battery. Now every time I boot my phone it gives the following screen:

Does anyone have any idea what this could be and would it be possible for me to fix it?
If not I will of course send it to Samsung.
Thanks,
Martin
Did you manage to find a fix i just ran int the same problem

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note II. Weeks ago I dropped my phone by accident (which caused the dead pixels). There are a few black lines and small dots near the bottom left of the screen. I heard about a method when you put it in the freezer and it gets rid of the dead pixels. I've read other posts about people having the same problem and there were others saying the freezer method works like a charm. I tried for two nights but no results can anyone give me a step by step instruction with the freezer method please? I wanna get this problem fixed as it is annoying and I cannot get it fixed at repair shops as someone who works at one told me they cannot fix it because its not Australian model and is from overseas.
Also, does it matter if the screen protector stays on or do I need to remove it for when I put it in the freezer?
Thanks guys.
Hello anyone?
Somebody please respond!!.......
My screen started having all those kind of dead spots where i just couldn't use anymore, and the touch would just jump to the closest area around the dead spot.
I was looking all over for solutions and most of the solutions I've read about (Factory reset and so on) were no effective.
Anyway, I saw this video "Lg g2 ghost touch and dead spot on the Touchscreen" where in one of the comments one guy suggested using the spark mechanism of lighters to give a few sparks to the screen.
I put a coin on the dead spot of the screen and gave a few hits with the sparky thing and it actually worked!!!
I hope this could be helpful to other users, although I have absolutely no idea how it works, but it did. I'm amazed.
So I have had my G3 32gb version for almost a year and this problem popped out of no where 4 days ago. I did exactly what you did and to my surprise it worked lol.:good::good::good:

an or not i hae his issue since today, he touch doesnt respond totally and the only thing i can do is turn on and turn off the screen on rear buttons, and sure i have to press it about 8 seconds to reboot the devide and then the touchscreen is working fine, but after some 1h of sleep screen it dont respond again...i dont know if this are the same problem of yours but is very annoying!
you need to dismantle a " press to spark " lighter and remove the piezoelectric spark generator ( small black bar with a wire in the middle ) , spray some window cleaner on the touchscreen and put a finger along the edge of the display while sparking on the dead spots . the current will go through the screen into your finger .
And your dead spot or dead strip is gone by doing this?
I purchased lg g3 from olx and didnt check it properly whn i bought it home the screen test show a long dead strip i used a coin and put it on the screen and give 2 3 spark with a lighter and it worked my dead strip work again lpoint to b noted i didnt switch off mobile i do it on a battry thank u so much i was going to change my degitizer
wow you are genius thanks very much
Holy ... This totaly works huge THANKS
Hello guys!
I just wanted to ask you about the safety precautions. I mean should i remove the battery or just turn off the phone or the process can be done when the phone is on?
I was totally skeptical about this, but one click on the piezo ignition and back to life! Battery left on, and had my drawing program open.
im totally confused, is there a video showing a process of this? this sounds very dangerous.. lighter.. ignition, fire
Hi I also have LG G3 and face same dead spot issue on my screen, after reading this I tried spark mechanism and its worked, but again after sometime same problem is occurred. Is there any permanent solution for this
Didn't work on me. Is there some special requirement before doing this?
