Dead Pixels on screen. Need Help - Defy General

So, I've just recently lent my phone to a friend, and after he played it for about 4 hours straight, now, there are some black pixels on the screen. I already tested it with dead pixel test, and voila, it is a dead pixel, and it's not a stuck pixel.
can we actually do something about these pixels, or should I just replace the lcd screen?
thanks for your help

Dead Pixel - Please Help!!

Hey,
I have had my device for one week, so under DSR working days I should still have time to return.
I have discovered a dead pixel at the top of the screen, which is always blue - I will try and get hold of tMobile tomorrow but wondering if anything else I can do or if It can be sorted.
The pixel appears blue on bright backgrounds, and is annoying - but i'm pissed because i got it last saturday, so its 7 days till now, may be on my own grrr - They state that the 7 days cooling of starts the day after the phone arrived, so its now 8 days so today is fine, however DSR states working days, minus weekend and good friday I should have a few more days - None the less hoping to get it replaced? Oh, forgot Easter Monday too :S
I've emailed tmobile and will try and phone them now, hopefully CS is still open.
Thanks
Also, I think it just developed or something, wasnt there before? - When screen is black, its not visible, when screne is red visible as a black spot, when screen is blue not visible, when screen is white visible as a blue spot - Ran that JScreenFix app twice both times for 20 minutes, no change :S

Sorry to hear that
JScreenFix is only for when the pixel is stuck not dead,
from your description the dead pixel is RED not BLUE.
I am just curious as to why you say PLEASE HELP!! it's not like we can help you. Just return it for warranty or replacement.
Its panic - and when one does it they become ignorant
Well, I've contacted TMobile, they have no HTC Desire stock so cant exchange it now, however I'll call back tomorrow and a note has been left incase I'm out of the 7 working day DSR period.
Spoke with a lady who hadnt the idea what a dead pixel was and said "in the meantime ask HTC if there is a solution"
Thanks
I have also discovered a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. Can't see it unless you really look for it. It is only visible on a white background and shows up as pink... lol
Will they exchange mine under warranty? I don't want to call them now, I will use it for a few more months and then exchange it for a new one.
Doesn't there have to be 3-4 'Dead' pixels before an item is deemed 'Faulty' and any returns is at the manufactures discression?

Basically - yes. It also depends how many and the type of defect within an area. If you have 2 at opposite ends of the display - this could be ok, however if they were close together - could be classed as a defect. Its basically up to HTC and what their criteria is.
I would have thought they would replace a dead pixel, even if it was only one. Let us know how you get on with your replacements.

No way in hell will they swap it for a new one if it's a few months old. Do it right away and they MIGHT, maybe.
T-mobile agreed to swop mine out 3 weeks ago but haven't replaced it yet due to lack of stock. Whilst I could chase them I'm not overly rushed as I still haven't received my screen protectors yet!

I have a red pixel.. what does that mean? I have had it for a long time but im not sure if its dead or stuck..? thanks in advance
dead pixel means that nothing is shown the pixel is only ever black... stuck pixel means that it only ever shows one colour...
that was the definitions i was last told anyways!!
You both have dead pixels. I think it highly improbable that they will ever become unstuck. Hehe.
If you can take it back then do so quickly because only a new screen will fix it.

If the pixel is red, or any other color except white or black, it probably is a stuck pixel. And I read the beginpost quickly, and if I remember well (it's pretty late here, sorry for any possible mistakes in my post), the pixel sometimes changed.
If that is the case, it is absolutely not dead. If an app which 'wakes up' the pixels doesn't work, I don't know what will. And last, I wonder if your provider or the manufacturer will repair this for free. I read somewhere that there have to be a certain amount of dead pixels before it is accepted for a free repair.

Dead Pixel?

Anyone get a dead pixel on their Incredible? I noticed mine in the NANDROID screen when the screen was all black. Any way to fix this aside from an exchange?
I got one. Started almost right when i got it. I Dont know how to fix it.

I tried a program called Pixel Fixer v2 from the market. Didnt work. It allows you to set the background to all white or black to see the pixel and then it flashes colors in a limited radius to try and get it unstuck. Give it a shot it may work for you.
Only real way to fix a dead pixel are to hope it becomes un-stuck on its own or to try to gently massage it a little bit. You may just have to deal with the dead pixel though, they're not usually fixable.
Turns out mine isn't actually a dead pixel. Ass the underlying pixel on mine actually still works. My screen just has a little black dot under it.

Pixels

Hello there guys.
I just wanted to ask you this: have your HOV had any issues with dead pixels ever? One day I just noticed a really hard to spot but surprisingly regularly placed dead pixels. It was just another day, I unlocked phone, checked time, kept living my day like I would normally do. Then when I entered my dropbox app, I noticed those pixels. They are only spottable (still you need to focus to see them) on white bright backgrounds. I tried this Dead Pixel Spot and Fix app from google play. It basically flashed my screen with colors for around 15 mins in hope of reviving dead pixels.
Unfortunately it hasn't helped. They are nothing major, but once I spotted them I know their placement and I see them with my brain not eyes if you know what I mean.
I haven't done anything that could harm them. It dropped few times but nothing happened just seconds after. I have it in case too. Tried to press some spots on the phone in hope of fixing it but that seems not to be the case.
Any ideas how to fix it, any feedback on your HOVs?
I think this has something to do with the "wire" or "tape" connecting motherboard with lcd. Is that possible?

Possible dead pixels on screen

Not sure if this is dead pixels or what but just noticed it while watching videos on YouTube. Very disappointing. The only thing that keeps me tied to this phone is because its the best looking phone on the market. This phone is probably 2 weeks old and has never been dropped. I'm thinking of going iPhone 7 when i turn this in. But I'm going to wait and see what the pixel is about first
Trying to attach an image keeps saying low memory?
gonna have a dead screen when it blows up. return it and dead pixels are no longer a worry.
