I replaced my lcd screen for the second time now because the first one was broken.I guess i didnt do a good job because about a week or so later.I started getting dirt underneath the screen. So i replaced the screen again and flashed it back to stock because i was stuck in the recovery boot loop.SO after flashing everything went fine and when it booted up the touch screen doesn't work.I took it apart to make sure everything was connected and it was.So i put it back together and it's the same thing.

Hi
You should try with one of your two previous screens (I guess you mean the digitizer / only the transparent part without the IPS screen).
Maybe you damaged the "ribbon cable" on the newest one...
Good luck !

Hi All,
My diamond screen suddenly stopped responding. The screen calibration is also not working. I tried a hard reset and after that, it stopped at the screen 'Tap the screen to setup your windows phone'. I am not even able to do that. Any help is appreciable. Thanks in advance.

Try re-flashing a rom, or maybe your touch screen (digitizer) needs replacing, if you do this yourself i would recommend buying the digitizer and lcd together as one, it will make a whole lot easier trust me lol. The lcd screen is easy to break.
Had this problem, too, but since I couldn't get back to stock SPL at that time I put my Diamond into a shelf for about 2 days.
When I then tried to get back to stock SPL the screen suddenly responded again.
So, try to take off the battery for a long time (more than a day) and hope it recovers.
Didn't have the problem again.

I had a similar problem solved with changing the touch screen since the phone was under warranty I have to revert to the stock SPL and stock ROM before I gave it for service. If your phone is not under warranty you can buy the touch screen from ebay.com with a manual and all required instruments for replacing the same.
This happened to me because I was talking to someone over an hour in a humid place which caused sweat to get into the phone through the speakers.

Solution
Okay, I've just had this problem with an HTC Touch, and I think this works with any HTC that has a "digitizer" rather than an all-in-one touchscreen (I think newer phones have digitisers).
I'm not sure if this will always work, but I've just done it - sometimes the inactive touch screen is "broken" because the layers are stuck together (so the phone can't tell where the touch is, hence unresponsive). With mine, I looked at the screen side on and could see a kind of "oily" patch in the light.
The solution is to get masking/gaffa tape - the very sticky brown one. Stick it down on the screen/digitizer and then keep pulling it off - this pulls the layers from each other. I kept repeating this lots before it worked - and in the end I pulled the top layer completely off (I think you should pull from the top of the phone, as the layers need to be attached at the bottom of the screen/digitizer). Once it pulled away, I gently lay it back down (after panicking!!) and hey presto it started working again.
Good luck!

Putting the phone in the fridge makes screen work!
I know this is an old thread but why does putting the phone in the fridge for a few minutes make the touch screen work? Even if I put it out of a moving car and it cools down, then it works for a bit.
Anyone know why this is and how I can fix the phone permanently?
Heyy guys, so I dropped my phone the other day and now the screen doesn't exactly work. It's not responsive or anything, Its happened before (except without dropping it) and all i did was just re-install the ROM and it worked great. I tried to reinstall the ROM now and its stuck on the screen alignment page. I can receive calls and the buttons still work, just the screen doesn't work what so ever.
What can I do?
Thanks!

sounds like the digitizer is busted if you have a warranty i would get the phone replaced, or you could go the route of goin to ebay paying 20-30 bucks and replacing it yourself. i have replaced the digitizer for my old wing it wasnt 2 hard if you are gentle and have the knowledge(have taken apart electronics before) i would go the first route before ebay though. just my $0.02
Hi,
Don't know if anyone else has experienced this problem. I bought a HOX as a second phone to mess with and possibly develop on (have another HOX as main phone). was cheap as someone had put hole in battery trying to pull apart so didn't expect it to work. Long story short new batt and worked fine, unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM, backed up original HTC Rom, flashed viper x 4.0.0 no worries. Then a friend broke her HOX screen, told her she could have mine and checked with my supplier which LCD/Digitizer was compatible ( supplier came back with sharp screen).
Had a spare one lying around so put it in and "woke up phone" - only home screen lights worked so put my original screen back in and "woke up phone again" - same problem so put sharp screen in and rebooted phone - still no display, once booted swapped screens and woke up phone again and got display- until phone went to sleep again and now cant get any display at all. Everything else works as per normal except no display.
Can lock/unlock bootloader, flash stock recovery and CWM, using my good phone as a template to navigate CWM I think I even managed to restore original HTC Rom. Lock screen can be unlocked and PC will see the SD extension, charge etc.
HELP has anyone had this problem. Have tried Heating chips/cleaning/putting in freezer as another post had had success with but still same problem.
Looks like a mainboard problem to me. Have had it also, first they replaced the screen, with no result.

That's what I'm starting to think the problem is.
Thanks for the response.
looks like I have an expensive flash drive now.
I've quite recently replaced the screen on my device yet the same issue in the images occurred as when it first went. I left it off for a couple of days. Turned it back on and is working again however there are very fine Black horizontal lines through the screen and the back light dims and brightens when using the touch screen. Any help is greatly appreciated

I assume you reflashed your phone the first time (loaded a fresh ROM). If so, it might be an issue with the screen. I know you already replaced it, but the issue might be with the screen connector cable.

All sorted. It was not only the screen but the flexi-cable ribbon. it was quite worn so I purchased another piece for it and hey presto. its all working. well...apart from the fact ive somehow broken the power switch so need to get a replacement for that somehow. fortunately i have the bugged recovery so i can boot my phone by plugging it into a charge cable to get it to boot.
I bought a E980 that the seller CLAIMED needed a new screen. When I got it I powered it up and the screen would be grey for a few seconds then black. I have another e980 so I stuck my good working board on this "thought to be" bad LCD. Well the screen is fine since it worked fine with my board. So I put the BAD phone back together. I noticed there were no start up chimes or anything when started and the home button lights didnt seem right. So I followed one of the tuts on here on flashing back to stock with tot method. Well it boots up with start up sounds but still just get the quick grey glow then its black but its powered on and I heard the start up chimes and can here response when I touch the screen. I have tried just about everything I can think of and have tried several different things on this board and not making any progress. Anyone have any idea? TIA
