There have been reports of that no longer working: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20773447&postcount=42
A social security number may be needed now...
Isn't it launching in UK for the Olympics? You might not have to wait much longer. On a side note, I have been using Google Wallet on my GN in US for a few weeks now and while it's absolutely awesome/futurisitic to use, it's surprising how few places take it here (I'm in NYC!). Google only has a very small number of partners and even the # of Mastercard PayPass locations is suprisingly small.
Hopefully things will pick up.
I'm just looking forward to an official Canadian launch soon. I have seen a lot of terminals that i could pay at using a GNEx
Okay, let me confirm some suspicions.
I can confirm that this method is working with a $25 Vanilla Mastercard (I'm located in Canada)
Second, a Social Security Number is only required after topping up more than two times. (Unconfirmed by me, but was stated in this thread)
Mohitrocks,
I'm in Canada too. Where can you use this here? Is it worth the bother of trying to set it up?
Thanks..

I cant get my hands on a vanilla card even I wanted to, they only seem to sell them in store, no way to get one over the net.
Well I just tried logging into Google Wallet with a web browser and adding an American address to my existing credit but it still didn't work.
Just tried using an entropay virtual visa card - failage

Any update on this? I'm in Australia and would really like to use this but I don't want to risk studying my phone for no reason if I'm not going to be able to top up....

The reason enter billing adresses to credit card payments is to verify your identity, obviously if your address on file with google doesnt match your cc billing adress thats on file with your bank, it will get declined. The reason vanilla works is because there is no address attached to it since you dont get billed, so you just create a fictive address with matching zip code you manually registered.
I just used my prepaid funds at a McDonald's in Brampton, Ontario and it was amazing, lol. I'm rooted by the way and used in no problem even with the unsupported device message.

Seeing how that article just links back to a thread here on XDA, this thread is pretty redundant. Please continue the conversation in the thread below.

I just got my Note 8 a couple days ago. I set it up on the Note before I go to website to register. Interestingly, I found my account already has a Note 8 black/brown registered with a different serial number. My is white, so I register again with the Perks link. I got the e-mail with the bonus offer afterward. I still don't know why it got another Note registered in my account.
I purchased a lot of 2 Samsung Note 8.0 AT&T from ebay.
Since I've never dealt with fastgsm.com, I ordered only one unlock to try it out first. It worked and I unlocked the first Samsung Note 8. Now I know fastgsm.com isn't some scam or something.
So I ordered a second time for the second tablet. I just got the following email from fastgsm.com asking for photo ID. Anyone ever had this happen?
Hello!
We noticed that you made a second order of Samsung USA codes.
As this particular service is potentially risky for us because of high number of frauds,
we would like to ask you to send us your name, full address, phone number and a photo of ID card.
Thank you for understanding.
Kind regards,
Tomas

I bought a dual sim international version off ebay when the phone first came out. Then I sent it back to try and get a replacement, before i could get a replacement they recalled them so I just had my original phone sent back. Now I was able to get Samsung Pay reinstalled but I cant set up my account, it does checking availability and says "Samsung Pay is not supported on this device." Is anyone aware of a work around for this?
I should also note that i am using version 1.5.1 as my initial retailer updated my phone when I sent it in for a replacement and when they sent it back my secure folder wouldn't work due to "unauthorized software" and I got the same issue with all the other versions of Samsung Pay.
Thanks in advance for any help!
BTW I did a search and was unable to find any solution for the setup issue so my apologies if there is a thread somewhere.

Yesterday I replaced my Motorola x4 phone with a Samsung Galaxy A71 5g. I repaired with my Samsung Active Watch 2 with no problem. I now want to enable ecg but cannot see the Samsung Health Monitor app in Galaxy store using either the watch or the phone. The watch and phone are latest level. I am in the USA. What am I doing wrong? TIA.

Initiate the process On your watch, where you should already have a Samsung Health Monitor app. If so, Tap on it then select Open on Watch (or something like that). See if it prompts you to install the Phone version of Samsung Health Monitor app (or gives you a URL to download and install).
I did the process so long ago that I can't quite remember how it worked. I think that the process was made even easier after Tizen 5.5.x.x came out.
You're in the U.S. but did you purchase a U.S. GWA2? Also, is your GWA2 software up to date? Is your Galaxy Store app up to date?
I've attached a picture of the icon to look for...
After spending hours on the phone with Samsung, it turns out that the active 2 I bought at a local Costco is not a US model, but rather an international version. I will be visiting Costco tomorrow, but I don't expect anything since the watch was bought about a year and a half to 2 years ago...at least I still have the box. It will be an interesting discussion.

You can pretty much return most items to Costco. My friend just returned a 1.5 year old router! Don't worry. It should go smoothly.
I went to Costco and engaged in a spirited discussion with the customer service desk. In the midst of this discussion they wanted to verify that the watch serial number matched the box and sales slip. I repaired the watch, verified the serial number as matching, and attempted to show them the problem. I did not restore the watch using backup and instead opted to install just the health monitor app. When it loaded it connected to the watch and warked fine with ecg. Did I mention the egg on my face? Samsung support level 2 lied when they said the watch was an international model.
The moral is, when troubleshooting, go back to ground zero and only involve the failing app. Apparently something that was present in my watch backup caused the health monitor to not recognize the watch. I tried at home with similar results and everything is working as designed. Lesson learned!
