I recently sent my phone to mobile tech videos for a power button replacement. Phone came back with the home button broken.
Please share your recommendation if you tried any online service for repairs.
Also, I need recommendation and not suggestions. I know how to Google.
Thanks

My phone was bought off Craigslist and I can't afford a new phone my hardware power button got conductive oil inside of it now whenever pressed it acts like. Held and hard restarts, I found an app called any unlock or something like that on the market my problem is when my phone sleeps it kills the process and I cant wake it is there a Dev who can help me make this program start in foreground I read about it but am clueless so I could really use help also if anyone knows where I can order the hardware button part that would be killer cause I could pay a shop to do the circuit soldering, I use this as my work phone and am worried I as I need to invest 500 into tools for work this month and can't afford repair, also my phone is on boost so there is no warranty, I can not take it to sprint, thank you

If you use CM9 you can set the volume buttons to wake the phone up. Could be a temporary fix for your problem.

That sounds good but with it is now I'm not sure I can get it into download or recovery, I can't remember the buttons off the top of my head, but if I can that sounds like a good temp solution, thanks ... do you know if there is a one click Odin for that and if I can just flash it over stock rooted el29 also if its ice based apn settings are an issue for me I need to be able to change them to boost mobiles, I contacted a store that does button soldering and replacement so I may give that a shot on Friday

So far that is working, I think the screen off in the notification bar keeps the system from killing it, thanks

I just bricked my S3 and whenever I plug it in, eventually, some combination of button presses makes a red LED show up, however, no screen on. Whats even weirder is that when I plug it in, it see's some thing called QHSUSB_DLOAD, and attempts to install drivers for it. I'm wondering if this might allow me to fix it? If all else fails, can someone refer me to a JTAG repair service...
Edit - When I attempt DL mode, I can even hear it disconnect, then reconnect. It fails the driver install though.
Unfortunately bud your hard bricked.

What were you trying to do? Root? Using what method?

Wait what? So you are able to get it into download mode is what you are saying? Or you can't?

I was making a port from the S2. I changed the updater script to let it flash, it did, and then it killed me.
Update: WOW. T-Mobile replaced it for me! I don't even have warranty left! Yet again, my company saves me.

What did you say to get them to replace it?

All I did was brought it into the store, handed it to the guy and said it was broken. Said I had a FACTORY warranty (from Samsung), and that Samsung told me to have the store do the replacement for me. The guy behind the desk said, "Yeah, whatever you stick your SIM into, as long as it's T-
Mobile, your covered. You can even buy phones offline,". It's going to be here monday. Shipped Friday, next day shipping, only 5$. I'm so happy I'm not paying 70$ for a JTAG... Not sure if this'll work for everyone, but it did for me!
Hello to all,
My GF gave me as a christmas present a white NOTE2, I loved it all of January, but at the beginning of January it started to freeze, screen would go black and until I did a battery pull it stayed black and frozen...so I sent it into the samsung service center, one week later it came back....only to see that it was behaving exactly the same, I didn't even left the service center with it......so I left it for the seccond time so it can be repaired....5 week later it came back....exactly the same...I'm going maddddd.....I'm now using it without the battery cover....because it's easier to do a battery pull.....please help...any advice...what do you think this phone has?

Better go and ask for replacement.

Won't suggest to flash it to different ROM for now.
If its some hardware issue, its better to stay on stock to claim the warranty.
Better go and ask for a replacement.
I've been on stock rom ever since I got it. I'm on 4.1.2....but it's a pain to send it for the third time and probably receive it broken.....I've spoken with Samsung and told them that I have the chip with the sudden death syndrome......and they said that is not true....it's just a internet rumore.....it's some kind of law that allows me to ask for a replacement???

i'm having the exact same issue. Started after i updated my stock firmware. After that i have tried different roms and it has been happening on all of them.
I can't believe they can get away with this so easily. Instead of taking it in twice they should replace it.

They just told me that to get a replacement a phone must be in sent into service center 3 times for the same problem. ...if flashing 4.1.1 stock firmware will help ???

Well then if you're still having the same problems for second time then go give it back and this time hopefully you get a replacement. And no 4.1.1 will not solve it if the latest one doesn't. Plus you'll have a bigger problem with 4.1.1 with SDS.

I sent it for the third time.....hope they will replace the mobo or the entire phone....if not I will call my lawyer and he will take care of problem....because I have no options left
All the best then, I'm glad you're willing to take legal actions here, it's your right and most importantly when you're at the service center make noise let everyone hear.

I think my phone's chargeport is beyond repair. I cannot charge this phone on any wires or chargers I have. So now I'm thinking it's time to get it replaced.
The trouble is, I am not able to Unroot. Is this a problem? Will the service somehow find a magic way to turn the phone back on and go "yup, you're rooted, so too bad."
Anybody that have had a similar experience with Sprint?
The repair tech told me that sprint doesn't care about root as long as it's a hardware issue software is our problem. I have heard and seen conflicting reports though.

If you want to be sure, you can externally charge your battery and flash a stock ROM

And there are tutorials on here to unroot using mobile Odin if I'm not mistaken...

I'm just wondering if someone could give me insight. Earlier today, I was installing xposed settings on Android 4.4 Kitkat(ROM) on AT&t I747U. After doing so, I hit reboot and it hard-bricked my phone(I was trying to install the experimental features for greenify. I know the difference between soft/hard and this is definitely a hard brick. Phone will not power on at all. I plugged in into my computer, and my PC makes that beep sound when you connect a device to it just will not power on to any menu.
Anyways, I know that I have to have it JTAGed. I was wondering if anyone has ever used Mobiletechvideos.com for their JTAG service? I'm skeptical sending my phone off, but if it will save it, then by all means I'll do it. How successful is the JTAG service? If anyone could help me out, it would be appreciated
-Thanks, a bricked Galaxy S3 user.
