I have had this issue with S Planner since Note 1.
I have an Office 365 Exchange Account.
I am trying to cut down on apps that sync.
S Planner works well for Calendar. if I add event via laptop or from Note 3, they sync within 2 min,
S Planner Task function is a challenge. When I add or complete a task on laptop in Outlook, it will update within a couple of hours (not minutes like calendar). When I add a task from Note 3, it does not update.
I have Apple tablets and they sync with their native Reminders app right away.
I just have the sync issue with S Planner.
Samsung has a case open since early Feb 2014, this has been an issue since the 1st Samsung's have had S Planner.
With 10K developers and ambitions to sell to enterprise, why can't Samsung fix this.
For all the smart XDA people, has anyone else had the same issue, if yes, have you resolved it.
S Planner has such potential, I know there are 3rd party apps, I would prefer Samsung fixes this sync issue vs using 3rd party app.

Does anyone know how to get google calendars to sync events 1 year plus? currently only recurring events sync past 1 year, but not individual events
You are lucky. I have only 6 weeks back.
How did you enable 1 year?
Mine has always sync'd +/- one year... no settings seem to be available to change this, so not sure why you have less... I need two years!

I have this issue too... have calendar events going back 2-3 years, and recently I can only sync 6 weeks on my Desire. Google Calendar shows all my events going back to 2009.
Hi all,
Found a method that did the trick for me.
Turn Auto and background sync off.
Delete data for Calendar and Calendar Storage.
Change date to something like 1 Jan 2009.
Turn sync back on.
After a few minutes it will resycn all calendar data.
Change date back to auto
With a custom app you can sync in any range .... I use "Business Calendar". Definitely better than the stock app !
Wow -- I'm shocked that there's no way to change the synced date range within Google's app.

I would use something else, but I like the HTC Sense Calendar app.
Will take a look at "Business Calendar" though.

How do you do that? The BC forum suggests using something like Synthesis syncML, and I've tried that, but I don't understand how to configure it.
I tried that business calendar but found if you store contacts birthdays then close app then open again it has deleted info not sure why because if you store it as pc sync they are ok.
I have been a bberry user my whole life. With the writing seemingly on the wall for bberry, Note 2 seemed like the ideal device for me -- I quite like its size, I feel that helps mitigate the loss of the physical keyboard. But I primarily use Yahoo! email and I was in for a shock when I made the switch.
It appears that there is (i) no way to push Yahoo email to the basic mail app in Android and (ii) the new Android operating system sets the shortest sync time at an agonizing 15 minutes (compared to what I believe is 5 in prior versions). After many ring around the rosy calls, with some tech people saying "well the emails should still arrive on their own relatively quickly" it seems like it has now been confirmed that it only will sync every 15 minutes (sometimes not even that if device is idling), unless I force the sync. I want a smartphone that tells ME when I have mail, not the other way around.
I've downloaded the Yahoo mail app for Android, but it is kind of crap a BIG step down from being used to using email on a bberry.
Frankly, I am very, very strongly considering chucking this and going back to my Torch. While the Note probably does everything else a lot better than a year old bberry device, and their next model will probably still be way behind the Galaxies and iPhones, email is the most important thing in a phone to me and bberry seems to blow these devices out of the water.
Or I could switch my primary email -- but I've been happily using Yahoo! for nearly 15 years.
Anyone have thoughts/advice? Am I somehow wrong in the above? Are there better options? I was so looking forward to this new device, and now I'm mostly bitterly disappointed -- feeling I have to sacrifice the most important primary function for all the internet/camera/social media bells and whistles.
Thoughs/comments/advice appreciated. I've only ever had a bberry until yesterday (though I do have an iPad and Yahoo email works just fine there).
I had the quite similar problem before, i mean I didn't get my emails quickly on my Note 2, i wondered why. But then I realized that I have the same yahoo email account set up on my iPhone and on that iPhone my emails still arrived so very quickly. Then I deleted my yahoo mail account on the iPhone and changed it to other yahoo email account so that my primary yahoo email account is only set up on my Note 2, since then my emails arrived quickly on my Note 2 and no more problem.
Just wondering maybe you have not deleted yr yahoo account on yr bberry ?
I have been using the yahoo mail app for over two years. Its development has been slow but right now it's working fine for me.

If you want push then you need to set up the Yahoo account manually via the option Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for the stock email app.
And yes, the Yahoo mail app for Android is crap indeed.

For many years in the early/mid 2000's Yahoo Mail was the only service that offered push to Blackberry. It was the defacto push offering in the marketplace.
I set mine up manually through the Active Sync settings and now its push. I struggled on and off for years with that Yahoo Mail app on my Hero/EVO/NexusS/GalaxyNexus and I gave up. Some updates would trash the app and it would be a quarter till they released a fix. I'd avoid it if I were you.

Hi,
I've just bought a new Samsung Note II GT-N7100 (Android version 4.1) and I am having issues when it comes to synchronise my Ms Outlook Calendar.
1. The application that I am using from the device is the S Planner - which is already installed on the device;
2. Application that I am using on my laptop Ms Office 2007;
3. Exchange Server backend 2003.
When I first synchronised the device with the calendar seemed to be working fine. But the issue is when I have a calendar appointment and one of my delegates changes the time or the duration of the appointment, the Samsung does not reflect the changes that were made.
Now I have another issue the calendar is not displaying new appointments both if entered from my laptop either entered from my device. Is like I am seeing an old snap-shot of my calendar.
I tried to made various troubleshooting (Deleted outlook profile from the device and re-configured, Tried to install 3rd Party Applications) but problem still persists.
Your help is much appreciated, since I do not know where to place my head at this stage.

Sounds like you simply imported the calendar and didn't set it to synchronize.
If you simply import it, it will literally take a snap-shot of your calendar, put it into the new calendar and do absolutely nothing else (it won't sync).
I've got both my school calendar and google calendar synced to my Note II (Also using S-Planner) and they work fine.
First of all thanks for the reply.....
from the sync options, I've set it up as peak and off peak to Push but to no avail....
do you have any more ideas, what this issue can be!
thanks once again
Anybody else had problems with syncing a Nexus 7 (KitKat) with outlook exchange calendar?
I'm migrating from a Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5 with Gingerbread and with the setup for a corporate exchange account there was an option to sync the calendar for various previous periods ( 2 weeks to 6 months, including the whole calendar). With KitKat this option is not apparent and syncing appears to only sync up to a month into the past - a backward step compared to Gingerbread. I've managed to add previous events by importing a ics file using Business Calendar Pro. However the syncing stops working having worked for a short while.
