Alarm clock fail - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Been messing with kernels lately and this morning my alarm clock didn't go off when it should have. Is this a failure of the ROM, kernel, or something else?

Haha I appreciate it but it worked fine the day before, and when I test an alarm just a minute from now it works so I'm thinking something to do with the phone being in deep sleep. Was just curious if anyone could shed some light on it.

Don't think deepsleep would do that. Maybe a random reboot overnight and it reset the alarm?

hmm maybe. when you turn the phone on from an extended screen off, does it ever take a full second for your alarm icon to reappear in the status bar? noticed that too and thought it could be related.

[Q] FC09 Alarm Failure? [SOLVED]

3 alarms on two phones were nice enough not to go off this morning. They didn't even wake the phone. Using the stock included alarm apk. Anyone else still asleep waiting for their alarm? Lucky for my internal clock!
-Sent from my Random Epic.
thankfully (*cough*) my alarm goes off every morning.
how did you install your rom? maybe you should odin back to stock and retry
hehehehe
Mine worked this morning. CleanGB 1.1.2 which is EL30 based and using Alarm Clock Plus
Mine went off as always with The People's ROM stock alarm clock. Is your phone on silent and alarms set to still sound when silent?

Well I did restore my phone late last night... may need to cycle the alarms. Not sure about my wife's... maybe it did go off and neither of us remember. Haha
UPDATE: In hindsight, this is probably the case. I did wake up minutes after her alarm SHOULD have gone off, and she probably stopped it in her sleep... Yeah, I bet the backup/restore glitched my alarms. Cycled them, all better now. :-D

i may be wrong but i believe this is used by any app that uses audio. is this issue new? is there an app/game you're using thats perhaps not closing properly? this could leave the audio_out2 running in the background, as you're seeing.

i haven't run any audio apps or games either in awhile. i only recently installed wake lock detector and discovered the issue, so I'm unsure if its new or persistent..

i would power down the phone, boot it back up and monitor it over the next 24 hours. see if it was a one-time thing, if it starts on its own, or at least you might find out what app triggers it based on when it started again and what app you most recently used
Having the touch sound on can trigger this as well.
i will try disabling touch sounds, reboot and monitor. thx for the advice guys
update: only ten minutes after reboot w/ touch and dialpad sound off the audiout_2 wl DRASTICALLY decreased. kinda sux not having them on BUT a small price to pay to save battery. thx guys
update#2..24 hours later.. keypad and touch sounds still off..audio_out2 wl still runnin away:/

running away as in 5min or a hour?
Ringtone, notifications , music and such will still trigger it.

Yep. I have noticed this as well. It tends to go up anytime anything uses the speaker...henceforth makes a sound.
I'm wondering if this is "normal"..?

It is indeed.
What wouldn't be normal is if you didn't play music or have touch sound on and it has like a hour of wakelocks.

[Q] Stock Alarm Sounds for Second, Turns Self Off

So here's a weird one: I'm running stock 4.1.2, and after the update I noticed the alarm going off when I set it... but only for about a second before turning itself off. It doesn't happen consistently - it only seems to happen when I leave the phone charging overnight. If I set the alarm for a minute from now, it goes off as it should. Anyone experience this? Any ideas?
I've tried setting the alarm to repeat weekly, clearing the clock app's data, and, yes, doing a full factory reset. The issue returned. Sometimes I think it might have to do with whether Google Now or Aurora (alpha Firefox) have recently added something to the notification bar, but that's pure speculation.
Don't want to install an app to rectify this, but I suppose I will if I must.
Thanks
P.S. - This thread appears to be nearly identical regarding a GSIII, but even if disabling the lock screen is a work-around, I can't do it.
P.P.S. - Any chance Samsung will be issuing any further updates (bug fixes), or can we expect this most recent update to JB to be the last?

alarm clock won't shut off

Ok on my LG my alarm won't shut off so I have to shut off the whole phone and reboot. This is very annoying. Is this a glitch on the LG?
Ok, I turned off my alarm clock and this sucker still turned on and I still had to reboot my phone for it to turn off. Is this a glitch from LG? or a glitch when you root your phone?

Neither but it is probably from messing around with your rooted phone.

I've never heard of such a glitch from rooting any phone. Try Un installing and installing different alarm clock apk
It's really annoying. I really don't like installing apps that my phone already has.
Sorry but I just found out what was causing this; it was an app that I really never even turned on but it was activated on its own. and it was the app that was giving me the headache of shutting off my phone in order to turn off the alarm. I don't know if I should mention the app.

OnePlus 3 Random Shutdown Problem

Hi All, not sure if it's just my handset but it has done it twice now so thought I'd see if others are experiencing the same issue and if there is a fix?
Phone fully charged, night mode on, wake up alarm on, go to sleep then wake up in the morning to realise you missed your alarm all because your phone was automatically switched off.
Becoming a issue now as people rely on alarms etc
Fix: maybe factory reset?!
Any feedback is much appreciated
Sounds like water damage.

Well since you are all stock, the stock clock has the option to turn on device if it is off so try that and see. I have never experienced any reboots with this device. You probably have some ****ty app installed.

ive just done a complete factory reset, will report back, hopefully thats fixed it, like i said only happened a couple of times but never happened before on other devices.
cheers for the feedback
How did it go for you? Did it repeat?
I've got them too.. I did a factory reset.. BUT, I also changed Launcher.. Last time, I saw my device crashing. Launcher3 was the problem. (I think thats the Google Now Launcher right?) So i changed back to the stock launcher. No problems since then..
Hey did your problem get solved?I am facing the same issue
