alarm clock won't shut off - T-Mobile LG G3

Ok on my LG my alarm won't shut off so I have to shut off the whole phone and reboot. This is very annoying. Is this a glitch on the LG?

Ok, I turned off my alarm clock and this sucker still turned on and I still had to reboot my phone for it to turn off. Is this a glitch from LG? or a glitch when you root your phone?

Neither but it is probably from messing around with your rooted phone.

I've never heard of such a glitch from rooting any phone. Try Un installing and installing different alarm clock apk

It's really annoying. I really don't like installing apps that my phone already has.
Sorry but I just found out what was causing this; it was an app that I really never even turned on but it was activated on its own. and it was the app that was giving me the headache of shutting off my phone in order to turn off the alarm. I don't know if I should mention the app.

IDEA: Make the alarm works with phone off

I found this app https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.nomoarpowah
Actually works only for some samsung devices, but the idea is good
Infact the app is able to switch on the phone when the alarms is going to be activated, even if the phone is completely turned off, in order to make it ring..The unique requirements is that the phone is under charging and is rooted of course
I think the same can be applied to our desire as well, because when the charger is connected, the kernel should be loaded, correct me if im wrong
So this mean that we (but not me ) can modify the kernel in order to do a simple thing: it have to check the current time in order to reboot the phone when the time is going to be near to the time set by the stock alarm app (the alarm time is of course written somewhere on the /data partition)
Anyone can say if this can be done through some changes to the kernel?
I know that the solution is to leave the phone on or in airplane mode, but this could be a nice feature for our "old" desire, at least when its charging; but i think that everyone charge it on night and have the alarm set for the morning
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english
Bump! No one have an idea if this can be done?? And no one like this idea?
I thought this already worked.
I was sure my alarm went off on a plane before when the phone was off...

Absolutely not...If ur phone is completely turned off, the phone will remain off forever (even if the alarm is set) untill u turn it on obviuosly
I think I remember my old Samsung dumb phone done that anyway.. if the phone was off the alarm would still sound... maybe it is a Samsung feature? Does the desire have a charging screen when the phone is off?
Edit: desire screen doesn't stay on, Samsung one does (my friends sgs does anyway). Only led on when charging desire...

My SE-P1i (Symbian UIQ 3.0) was working in that way. This is an OS issue as well.

That's correct, but the led color is controlled by the kernel..When chargin is amber, when full charge is green, this mean we can implemnt some logics on the kernel as well..For example we can implement in the kernel something like reboot (turn on) the phone when the alarm is going to ring (reading the setting from the phone file system)

Seems logical and and theoretically would work... however, I know my phone takes a long time to boot... others more, others less, so how long would you be starting the phone before alarm? 15 minutes?

Well, my phone is about standard for the boot time, is about 1 minute (even on stock sense, custom sense roms, aosp roms)..5 minutes before the alarm is enough..But I don't think this is a big problem, even 15 minutes before, just to be sure, it's ok..We just need someone that is able to do the necessary kernel changes (if this is possible; seems strange that no one never implemented this kind of logics when the phone is off under charging)

I don't like hibernation mode as is the same as put the phone in airplane mode, the phone remain still on

Quoted from manu kernel thread...
So the actual idea is to make the phone ring.so you don't miss a call? Would the phone not need to be "on" constantly... and if so, why not just leave it on charge overnight? That's what I do?

I was gonna say just leave it on... but yea, boot the phone 5-10 mins (maybe users choice?) before the alarm sounds... I do like it...

It´s interesting to think about this and see if it´s technically possible.
But I don´t get the motivation behind it
Why turn the phone completely off if it´s supposed to hang on the cable anyway? To save the 5-20 mA it uses when in airplane-mode?

The motivation is exactly that, see if it is technically possible..I agree that is not a great advantage having that feature..
Would be nice I think, even nicer if it worked without having it charging.

But the charging is what is keeping the kernel awake... otherwise you nay as have the phone on..

That actually could work only if the hardware will support a sort of "wake up from power off" functionality (our desire hardware support it???)..Like pc and some nokia have..
Alarm and Calendar event reminders goes off after reboot or restart!
I have captivate that runs on Firefly froyo ROM. I have an alarm set in my phone that is supposed to sound every morning. But when I reboot my phone everytime for replacing the spare battery, the alarm is not re activated. In simple works, alarm scheduled to sound everyday does not reactivate itself after reboot. Have to open the alarm, disable it and again enable to reactivate it.
Any solution for this. Also any app that solves the problem? Same thing happens with calendar reminder events. After reboot, the calendar reminder events do not work. HAve to go to the calendar app for it to activate. Any alternate apps for the problem?
I think it must be possible what did my previous phone Nokia 6220 classic had that my newer fella doesn't have it, and that phone could do it. Actually, it turned on a little sooner to ring exactly at the time you've wanted it.
But trust me it isn't that much good you know especially when you don't know there's such a feature. You've turned off your phone and you're sleeping you would kill anyone who dared to wake you up and suddenly a death metal music starts ringing 5:30 in the morning, you got the point :banghead:

Alarm clock fail

Been messing with kernels lately and this morning my alarm clock didn't go off when it should have. Is this a failure of the ROM, kernel, or something else?

Haha I appreciate it but it worked fine the day before, and when I test an alarm just a minute from now it works so I'm thinking something to do with the phone being in deep sleep. Was just curious if anyone could shed some light on it.

Don't think deepsleep would do that. Maybe a random reboot overnight and it reset the alarm?

hmm maybe. when you turn the phone on from an extended screen off, does it ever take a full second for your alarm icon to reappear in the status bar? noticed that too and thought it could be related.

Screen stops working randomly

I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else. So sometimes I go to unlock and the screen doesn't let me do anything, it happens not just when unlocking but when I'm using the phone too, it's really annoying when I'm trying to text someone back or try to answer a call. It doesn't happen all the time so I could live with it....but I'm wondering if anyone has a fix or has the same problem.
Also I have my phone rooted and g3 tweaksbox, and I turned off the knock in code..I don't know if any of these have factors.

Is it lag? Does it only happen for a few seconds before it starts again?
It's not lag..I don't think unless it's a really long lag ?... I turn my screen on and off and it would still be frozen. Maybe after a few mins of turning the screen off and on again it will work...

Sounds faulty i think.I'd get the phone freezing for a few seconds before it responded, but that was lag.
Aww man that would suck if it was... That's the only problem I have!

i had this problem..it would lock up..freeze and i had to wait for a min or so to come back to life..a hard reset fixed it
Oh okay! That is good to know...I guess I'll be trying that soon
I have the same issue as well.
It's not that the screen "stopped" working. It works, except there's no update on the screen. As if the entire phone is frozen, but it's still giving me haptic feedbacks. Except, actions aren't being reflected on the UI; things like, tapping home navbar button, doesn't take me to the launcher, tapping up/back doesn't take me to the previous screen. I can lock/unlock the phone, but I'd return to the whatever page of the app that corresponds to the back/up command I previously made.
I think, the easiest way I can summarize this is that the OS stopped doing visual updates, while there's actually stuff going on despite that "stuck" screen.

[Q] Random Alarm on Moto 360

So this morning I woke up to my Moto 360 vibrating at 5:17am. First I looked at my phone to see if there was an alarm set there, but there wasn't. I just dismissed it from my watch and went back to bed.
This is the first time this has happened, but I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced this before.
It just happened again. This time at 3:47am. What the hell is going on? Is my watch possessed?
your watch controls its own alarms. have you gone in to the apps and checked to see if you have a timer/alarm set up ?

I had no clue the watch had it's own alarm app. I thought it just tethered off the phone. Sure enough, there were two alarms in there which I never set. Now I'm curious to know how they got in there.
Oh well, they're deleted now, so they won't be waking me up any longer.
Thanks for your help!

i really wish there was an option to tether the two. it seems redundant, but if your phone isn't within arm's reach it would be handy both for setting and for responding.
Personally I think a vibrating is useless anyways. That wouldn't wake me up. Too bad it didn't have a small speaker for beeping.

OnePlus 3 Random Shutdown Problem

Hi All, not sure if it's just my handset but it has done it twice now so thought I'd see if others are experiencing the same issue and if there is a fix?
Phone fully charged, night mode on, wake up alarm on, go to sleep then wake up in the morning to realise you missed your alarm all because your phone was automatically switched off.
Becoming a issue now as people rely on alarms etc
Fix: maybe factory reset?!
Any feedback is much appreciated
Sounds like water damage.

Is yours stock or have you tinkered?

Well since you are all stock, the stock clock has the option to turn on device if it is off so try that and see. I have never experienced any reboots with this device. You probably have some ****ty app installed.

ive just done a complete factory reset, will report back, hopefully thats fixed it, like i said only happened a couple of times but never happened before on other devices.
cheers for the feedback
How did it go for you? Did it repeat?
I've got them too.. I did a factory reset.. BUT, I also changed Launcher.. Last time, I saw my device crashing. Launcher3 was the problem. (I think thats the Google Now Launcher right?) So i changed back to the stock launcher. No problems since then..
Hey did your problem get solved?I am facing the same issue
