hi guys
i hope you can help, i am really scared, i got the null/null imei!, i first flashed uae stock from coming from revolution hd rom, after that i got another imei other than mine so i tried to flash again cwm using odin, after that i tried many times to install back the custom rom (binary is 4 now) then i tried to restore a backup of the from and the phone booted, now the disaster come, the phone is working like normal but not recognize any sim i checked the imei and got "null/null".
PLEASE tell me that there are a solution for this problem.
the phone is now at a store which is familiar with custom roms, the man said that as the binary count is 4, there is a chance that there would be no solution.
by the way, i still have a cwm backup.
any help appreciated.
What android version are you using now?

Hi I hope someone can help me, basically I put android revolution on my phone yesterday but wanted to return to stock so I flashed a stock rom through odin and after it had booted up I had no internet connection, I checked my imei and it was different to my usual imei.
Anyway I spent all day trying to rectify the problem using kies but that didnt help, in the end I decided to root my phone again and put android revolution back on it, and to my surprise my internet connection and imei returned!!!!
I was just wondering how I could go back to stock without having the same problems as yesterday?
Oh I have no back ups whatsoever.
Hope someone can help
Thanks alot

Never mind I think I found the problem, due to the latest stability update u cant downgrade firnware cos the update modifies the efs/kernel so instead of downgrading which is what I was doing when going back to stock cos that was the only firmware on my computer I tjink it was 4.1.1 I think I have to use the newest stock rom in odin so that it can read the modified efs from the update?
If someone can 2nd what I said just to make sure im correct then ill go ahead and do it.
Thanks alot

Yup, you right and safe to do so. If your imei havent corrupt, you will be fine with both latest DF1 and ME4 modem.

The latest update kernel will modified your imei and force to recognize both mentioned modem only.
Good luck mate.

i also have a backup made using CWM but its on my computer . and when i try to restore it from CWM it says not found. where do i have to put it for CWM to find it
You installed a rom for a different device... this is the Note 2 forum, not Note 1. N-7105 is the id for the second generation Note and you have the first gen.
Find the factory Note 1 firmware in the Note 1 forum and flash it using odin.

You have to keep the backup in the original CWM directory in order for the recovery to detect it.
Please do your research prior to flashing anything or posting new threads. There are stickies and faq's for everything and you'll get roasted alive for asking questions without doing your due diligence.

im sorry my phone is a note II sgh i317 (at&t). i rooted it following the instructions on galaxynote2rootdotcom and then installed PA 3.99. when i installed pa 3.99 using CWM it showed me that i lost all network and that my model number change to N7105. i then flashed the cyanogenmod 10.1 and everything seemed to work fine. my model changed back to sgh i317 and i got my network back. so i tried to flash PA 3.99 again and its the same thing i lose all baseband and imei and back to that same model. so now im back to cyanogenmod and updated to 10.2 nightly but now i seem to have lost my calling app and play store.

My apologies. I wasn't familiar with the ATT variant. The EFS folder is the very first item to backup immediately after rooting the phone. You can use TWRP recovery or an efs backup/restore app from the Play Store.

You should know where to place your backup. Under clockworkmod folder then backup and place it there. Dont rename it because the md5 sums will be changed.

Hi Guys..
please can any one help me
I lost my EFS files when i update my phone to Android 4.3 Leaked version (N7100XXUEMJ5), so when i reinstall official version of my phone (4.1.2) (N7100XXDMC3) the IMEI number changed to (004999010640000)
NOT: if i install leaked version 4.3 of android the IMEI works normally, but i need back to official version.
please can any one help me to solve this problem or can make a backup of his phone EFS files for me to restore it in my phone
finally I'm sorry about my English
I'm really sorry to be the one to tell you this but I'm pretty sure that since you lost your efs backup there is nothing anyone can do. Your efs is unique to every phone. Someone else's backup will not help you as that will make your phone's unique identifier no longer unique but the same as the person who sent you their backup. EFS contains your IMEI number.
Sorry

You should install the Android version on which you say your IMEI is normal and make a EFS backup.
You can safely use this tool to backup/restore your EFS after you flash the working ROM.
You can also use this APK form the Play Store to backup your EFS partition.
Most important, store your EFS backup somewhere safe!
Cheers!

Go to the original post and download the 4.1.2 dlk5 modem.. Flash it by cwm. And the imei will restore.
The reason that imei loses is that the baseband is not compatible with the current android version.

Hi guys,
here's y problem. My phone runs Cyanogen since I got it but I wish to sell it now. For that I have to put it back on an official ROM. When I try to do it through Odin (with Officials ROM from Sam Mobile) it breaks my phone. I mean that I don't have network anymore, just "Only emergency calls". I noticed that my IMEI was changed each time I flash an official ROM with Odin. I foudn out how to solve the problem (by flashing an old modem through CWM) but then my ROM's modified and I can't, for example, search for an update 'cause it says I modified the software.
I'm looking for a way to have back an official ROM without have a wrong IMEI after the Odin flash.
Thanks.
Try to flash the stock rom via odin and restore efs backup.
Hope this helps.

Hey just today I decided to head on over to official 4.4 and the only one working as off now is Philz. So after odin'ing to stock i decided to flash a rom. So i downloaded my rom and went to install. Wiped system/data/caches and when i went to install the rom it gave me and error. Being confident and not making a backup, made me think i was screwed. So i rebooted and was expecting boot loop, but no it booted up the rom just fine! Even with the error it gave me and saying it aborted install. Has this happened to anyone else using Philz? Just curious to see if my is just being weird....
