Ok heres the setup, I have a qi charger mounted behind the car dock I have created. external power is supposed to wake the screen when i turn the ignition key to the on or acc position and turning the key to the off position cuts the power to the qi charger triggering automatit to screen lock and off via screen off and lock app. Heres the problem I am having, if the nexus 7 is left in the dock after power is disconnected when power is reapplied it won't wake the screen till i physically move the tablet away from the charger and put it back on the charger.
How can I fix this so I can leave my device docked and have the screen wake and lock as intended without having to remove it and replace to get the screen to come back on?

Could you please provide the Tasker Profile? (Value for Magnetic filed?)
state>power>power>source=wireless
new task (any name) add action>plugin>Secure Settings>edit configuration>Actions>Wake Device>Save
will wake the device anytime it is placed on a wireless charger

I used to keep my Kaiser tilted open on my desk next to my computer monitor at work with the display off. Seems you can't do this with the Rhodium. Any cabs out there that will allow me to turn off the screen with the slide open?
You mean the phone being in sleep mode?
I just slid mine out and tilted it and pushed the power button to shut the display and it did.
It turns off when it is not plugged in, but I have my Tilt plugged in at work, and tilted up so I can see it, ad it will not turn off, only dim and lock.

Go to your power settings and adjust settings there
I did, adn nothing happens. When on external Power: "Dim display after 5 mins" "Turn off power after 10 mins"

Might be silly but make sure you click "ok" on top right. Try soft reset maybe?
I have not had this particular issue on my rhodium but when i was using my tp1 i sometimes had to check the boxes, click ok, then go in and uncheck the boxes, click ok, then go in again and recheck them and hit ok again or the settings wouldn't stick, give that a try and see if it'll work. If you have any other backlight control software chances are it overrides the built in power management also.
To disable keyboard opening from powering on/waking phone
Add this key to your registry under:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"SlideWakeup"=dword:0
Be sure to soft reset after making the edit.
Works on my AT&T Tilt 2 like a charm
~J
PS: this also allows me to slide the keyboard, then power on the TP2 and/or with on then slide open and power off either way
Anyone else have this problem....Tilt 2, while charging and keyboard is slid open, the power button doesn't work to power off the phone.
If you haven't personally experienced this could you try it and see what happens for you.
No problems here. Power button works as expected regardless of if it's being charged or if keyboard is out.
Same issue...not a big deal for me, but my power button does not turn off the screen with the keyboard open whether the screen is locked. The device is connected to a PC to charge. and I'm using the stock AT&T Rom.
The power switch doesn't turn off screen or power off device while keyboard is open, plugged into charger or not. How is that a problem? Just close it then turn if off.

Well it does turn it off on the tmob (US) version of the TP2, so it's not completely out of left field...just becasue you don't have any scenairos where it's undesirable to close the keyboard before shutting off the screen, don't assume that nobody else does either

When im charging, and continuously texting someone, it gets annoying sliding the keyboard in and out
I use my nexus mounted in my car and always connected to the car charger. Is there a way or app that will automatically switch the phone on off like airplane mode and standby mode when the power to the charger/car is on? I am looking for a way to do this without having to manually power the phone on/off and keeping the battery from going dead while not in use.

Tasker can do that I believe.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
NFC tag! Or tasker context (orientation + USB power), but you might accidentally trigger it when you don't want to.
Hey, what's up everyone?
Today I embarked on externalizing the power button on my Nexus 7, That's the easy part.
Now the hard.
What I wanna do is use a time delay or pulse to complete the ground connection to turn the screen on When power is applied. (To what I'm assuming is a time delay relay/pulse relay.)
The part I'm confusing myself on is how to do this. I basically need to know what that thing is.
It would sit between the two ground wires from the tab.
When power is applied to unknown item.
It connects the grounds for a millisecond and then release.
Resulting in screen on.
Any help is appreciated thanks alot
This $1.50 Time Relay Module will do the job, but instead of "externalizing the power button" why not leave your N7 intact and interrupt its power supply?
Settings - Display - Wake on plug

Thank you very much.
It's a hardwire install. No battery constantly on.
It's in the early stage, so externalizing the power button may not need to be done.
Just getting the research ahead of time.
I'm not really sure if the external powered hub can wake it up, When the screen is off. Or if the USB port will act the same anymore.
The hardwire is connected to the battery board. So the USB port may function as normal. If it does then wake on plug or activity at the USB port wake up is the best outcome.
If functionality is lost at the port a secondary trigger such as
simulated power button
Or wake on Bluetooth activity
Maybe my only routes.
I'm completely open to any ideas and suggestions anyone may have.
"Wake on plug" will work regardless of USB data status or type of power source. I'd cut the [+] wire of a USB cable and splice Time Relay Module there.

The battery board is integrated with a Lipo. Did you remove the Lipo and connect a power supply to ex-Lipo's terminals? If so, what voltage did you apply and is it working reliably?
I attached a picture of the battery board from a mod I did...

We did the exact same mod.
Your bcb looks a little different though.
I too removed the board from the lipo and soldered to the Positive and negative.
I then ran from the ground to the first black wire at the connector and tied in.
I'm using a 12v downstep to 5v 3a to power the nexus.
If the USB port works regardless.
I will not need the relay module. The external powered hub will trigger screen on. (If I'm reading you correctly)
Currently on the bench it has ran flawlessly. Android doesn't seem to mind or notice that it's hardwired or that it's running continuously. Android reads out 100% battery

Yes the hub will trigger screen on but I thought you need an interface to another, controlling device. I suppose you will simply power up the hub to initiate screen on.

That is correct. I was gaining research knowledge, to hopefully get ahead of the game. Incase the port did not act the same after removing the battery. The project comes home tomorrow, Where my real test can begin.
Solved!! If anyone would like to use my way. Don't hesitate to ask.
A few time this has happened now....phone won't turn back on. Buttons do nothing---however, the logo is breathing from a notification (which I have no idea how to change per app). Have to force a reboot via power button. Anyone else having this?
I get this in 1 specific scenario.
When my phone is plugged in charging using my Anker Qualcomm 3.0 car charger, and I turn the engine off. The screen suddenly goes black, and it won't come back on until I restart it.
I can even hear it make the unlock noise when I use the fingerprint scanner, so the device seems to still be functional, just the screen is off.
I have to charge my razer using a slower speed car charger in order to avoid this - or remember to unplug the phone before turning off the engine.
