thanks....
Then it is a hardware failure. You need to send your phone to HTC to fix it. The light must be broken. Not software related.

It is my view no big problem and it is not dangerous at all. As long as you can use your phone normally, everything is fine.

I have a similar problem but my middle button is dim while the other two are bright. I must have damaged or loosened something whilst changing the back cover but I don't know what.
If you're confident enough to start taking your phone apart you can buy the ribbon/ for the capacative lights for about £6 on ebay but when I looked closer at the location of this inside the phone there seems to be a lot of things to take apart to get to it. Personally I'm not that confident doing it so am going to live with the problem but if you're interested in fixing it yourself this might be an option for you.

Hi. Today I was gonna buy some NFC tags when I asked myself how does exactly NFC works. I found soon what I was looking for thanks to Wikipedia: NFC is based on RFID technology, which is also used for today's lift tickets. So I took an old reusable lift ticket (which I had kept from last year) and tried it on my Nexus 5. Surprisingly it worked! I could erase it and use it with Trigger as a normal NFC tag. Unfortunately I had to swipe it on the back of my phone for a few seconds before it was detected so I looked for a solution and I found it. I wrapped it up with some magnetic tape and now it works <5cm long!
This is just for you to know:
1) don't throw out your old lift tickets; use them as NFC tags!
2) want to make any tag work better? Use magnetic tape!
What makes you even think you should swipe it? NFC is not a magnetic keycard or something. Just hold it still for a sec.
Which app did you use for erasing?

There are many tools which can do this. Since I had Trigger installed, I used it.
i do have a strange dotted line at the bottom of my screen, which seems to get larger slowly.
The dotted line is shown when the device is turned on/off.
It's not in the glass, but below the glass.
I wonder if anyone has seen this before.
i tried to make an image of it.
Ralph
I have it too, not sure what caused it though!
No issue here.
The touchscreen is lifting from the tft, to which it's glued, causing air bubbles in the glue, IMO.
Me too although it doesn't bother me since it doesn't do anything to the viewing experience.

All, thank you for your replies.
I contacted Samsung support, and they informed me that it was no known issue on their devices.
If i want to have it repaired; i could sent it to Dynafix who does the repairs in my area, and they will check if it's a fabrication fault or an user fault.
I have sent the picuture to dynafix to see if they could say me something about it, though i am not sure if they will do this.
I will keep you updated.
Ralph
Ouch, dynafix..... You usually get your device back in a condition worse than when it was when sent in.

Me too
I also have those at various points along the bottom. They don't bother me enough to risk sending the tablet in for service.

Maybe answer is that; however, the seller said that these dots are originated from the people that scratch or something when i see these dots on the Screen of tablets at showroom of Samsung. But i think there is a problem. After a while i think all note 2014 will be like that. I examined all of them in different stores. Guess what. All of them has that issue.

I think you should bring your tablets to be fixed.
Also , i have a question for everyone who has that issue, are your galaxy notes 10.1 black or white ? I saw this issue only on black ones' screens. Are you using your tablets in fully brightness? Because i realized that it begins warming rapidly and more at bottom of the screen which is so close to the dotted place.

Brightness setting is in the middle. Yes I use it alot everyday for work. The screen is mostly always on and I charge it mid day in the office and still use it while charging. Sometimes the screen gets warm when being used and charged at the same time. Been using this tablet since November

Tnx for your replies,
I bought it in january. no dots observed yet. I also have black model. I dont use in charge. I use it portable way when it is not charging. I am so angry with samsung because of that issue. They had made really big mistake and they dont accept their faulty. They even dont try to fix this issue for next generations.
At first I was bothered by it.. but now not so much. Good thing the dots are on the bottom of the screen and you wont notice it when using the tablet. Yes still samsung should fix this issue

Mine is black.
I have used it while it was charging but not very often.
I purchased it new about 7 weeks ago.
I had the exact same issue with my first note I bought in November. Ended up returning it to the retailer about 6 weeks into use and buying a new one I've had for about 6 weeks so far as well. No issue on the 2nd one as far as I can tell right now but this seems like another common problem.
If these bubbles/dots are caused by the reasons i mentioned earlier, they align with the colored rim of the touchscreen, because the color layer increases thickness of the glass by some nanometers. Going towards the center of the screen, the gap narrows because of adhesive force bending the glass. This should prevent the bubbles/dots from wandering inwards. Otherwise there's a huge issue with the device, though mine is (still) fine.
I noticed these dots on my white note after I got it back from battery repair. Not sure if it was there but I have 3 clusters of bubbles now

since yesterday i've this strange line as well. It came out of nowhere. After reading this tread @yararli could be right about something. Normally I use my screen about 25% brightness. Yesterday I watched a episode at almost 100% brightness. So there could be a causality between the brightness en warming-up which result in this strange line. My tablet is black bought it around december.
Is there any news about returns? Will there repair this problem or give a new tablet?
Hey guys
I have a half working OneX lying here and need some advice. The lcd doesnt work anymore and stays black all time. The rest of the phone still seems to work. I looked on ebay.com.au ( I am in Australia right now) for some lcds but git kinda confused which I have to buy now.
Is this the right one or do I need sth. else?

SOmeone any idea? Do I have to open my HOX to see which Screen I need or what?
I have a similar problem as you with my HOX, though sometimes when I twist my phone from the edges a but the screen comes to life for a while. I've read that this could be a problem with the ribbon being pressed out of place due to heating of the battery. I think its a better option to get it checked by a hardware guy than buying something that you might not need.

Just checking if more have same problem. During a call I might sometimes bend my head laying phone on shoulder when I need my hands for other stuff.
1st problem is that the sensor is very badly calibrated imo compared to my old nexus4 and 2nd problem is that if your screen goes black when sensor is triggered, you can still do touch inputs. Screen should be locked if sensor is triggered as on many other phones. I checked this with someone else who owns a z2 and he was pretty sure it was same for him.
Im gonna doublecheck with two more z2 owners as I dont know that many z1c owners irl.
Only me or any of you also notice it?
There's a couple threads about this, like this one.
I've also had this a few times now, I just read through the linked thread and I'll try holding it on my right ear instead of left, but I don't think that's going to help since the screen is off when my ear presses buttons.
Maybe someone should check with Sony to see if they know about this...
Next question then would be if the same issue is still there on another rom like cm11? Anyone tried?

It's not a ROM problem, but a design/construction problem. Proximity sensor is placed at the upper left edge of the phone and no ROM in the world is gonna fix that.

I dont buy that. My old nexus 4 also has the sensor in top left corner and that phone doesnt behave like this one
And also the screen still reacting to touches when it's off is definitely a ROM problem.
When I first got the phone it didn't take as long to charge but after the last update (or even the one before) it takes forever to charge, charging via mains is as slow as via usb. Anyone else experience this?
I have the EU variant running up to date firmware.

Yup, bought my device from an official retailer, sealed. Like I said it only started after a recent update.
Could be:
A. Broken charger or cable( LG accessories are famous for poor quality,at least in CN )
B. Background processes or services are eating your CPU,causing excessive heat and power consumption , again very common in CN
Update
Issue persists even in safe mode and when the device is off. However using my Amazon power bank (no fast charging) I get a good charging speed, I have checked with Ampere and this is what I get...
Charging with Amazon power bank: 1030mA
Charging with LG wallcharger: 450mA
Charging via USB: 230mA
All values are the maximum show (there was some fluctuation).
I have found that other people also experienced this issue in the past with the G4 but cannot find a solution, do you guys have any suggestions? I have only had the phone for <6 months
Same here this evening.
I had this issues before, but something like in distance of 2-3 months from now. The next day, usually, charges fast as ever...
Maybe is something software-related to retard battery degrading?
Most likely your cable is worn out, or did you use the same cable on the power bank?

I hope it is software related, many others have experienced similar issues (though the only posts I find are like a year old), my device is pretty much new.

No, my power bank comes with its own cable, I only use the supplied LG cable to charge the phone/media transfer.

Tried the other cable and guess what? It charged faster-as it is supposed to. I have just tried the LG cable again and it is slow, so the problem lies with the LG cable-which is annoying . Do you think I should contact LG tell ask for a new cable?

Id say go to the electronics dealer you trust and buy a new one, cables are prone to wear out.

I have my g4 for more than a year now and the cable is still the best i have. If you buy a new one, be carefull to buy good quality one, cheap quality cables can bring severe problems like strange touchscreen behaviour while charging or low ampere due to unstable power (bad connectors).
Gesendet von meinem LG-H815 mit Tapatalk
i have faced the same problem and i found that cable was faulty even that was almost new. Service center simply replaced it and all is well.
Update 3
Ok here is some information that will boggle your minds...
So I decided to test the cable a bit, I used my brother's S7 Edge to charge the device and it charged fine! (using the LG cable/adapter). So the cable is fine??? I don't get it, other devices charge fine however the G4 charges abnormally... :silly:
I'm pretty sure this issue started after an update but it still doesn't make any sense!
Problem solved!
Edited: The issue remains, charging in different rooms of the house gives varying charge speeds, funny really.
Thank you for the info! Same happened to me couple of days ago... Was so worried it takes 1 hour to charge 20% probably same issue as yours... Will try another cable.

I never managed to fix it nor find out what caused it. I sent the device for repairs (under warranty) and all they did was send me a new battery, after which the problem still remained. So it could've only been an issue somewhere within the motherboard. I just used a fast charger after that.
Either way after hearing of the device not getting nougat (now apparently it will) I sold the device on and got a Xperia device which is running well. The G4 was a great phone for the first few months after which it just went downhill.

I agree with you, since day one I am experiencing some weird screen bugs, vertical black line appears now and then for couple of seconds, some icon marks remain on the screen as well just too many bugs...
