[Q] Soft Keys not responding - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

The soft keys on my note II sph-l900 have recently stopped working. I have tried many soft resets and a few hard resets as well. I believe this is a hardware issue and am wondering if anyone knows what part of the phone is responsible for the soft keys. I know the micro usb and microphone board are down in that region but not sure if replacing that will solve the issue. I have been using on screen soft keys but it is rather inconvenient to lose that bottom part of the screen. Samsung has a 1 year warranty on all their phones but that will be a 1 to 2 week process that requires me to ship the phone out. I am running rooted stock right now. Any input is appreciated.

Rhodium Touch Screen Unresponsive

Hi All,
I have the CDMA version of the Rhodium and happen to be in Europe right now. After a few calls to Verizon I have been using voice and data successfully for the past few days.
Last night after dinner however, I realized my phone appeared frozen and unresponsive via the touch screen. I powered down the phone using the hangup/power button and powered it back on. Touch screen unresponsive. I Soft-Reset and still same problem. I re-flashed the ROM provided by verizon (Since I couldn't get the send/hangup & power keys to do a hard-reset) and still nothing.
I am fairly certain this was not exposed to any water damage. All keyboard and hard-buttons still remain responsive. Anything I can do to try and resolve this?
BTW: The stickers inside are red--they have been red since probably a week after getting the phone but everything has functioned fine for months -- I blame humidity on the red-sticker part.
Any thoughts here on resolving lack of response from Rhodium Touch Screen?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] mk16i h/w keyboard jammed

I have an issue with h/w key "," it just presses by itsefl and freaks me out. I think it began after I dropped it at some point, and at a time I don't have warranty for it, so I can't cheaply bring it to life again. I see two ways to fix that. To disable the h/w keyboard at all, or to fix the key. The problem with the second option is that I was unable to find the disassembling guide witch shows how to get to the keys. Please help to solve that issue.
The ROM is 4.1.B.0.587 and the issue started before flashing from the original one

[Q] Galaxy note3 menu & back key problem

Hi guys
I have a problem with my galaxy note3 n900t. My menu and back key is not working when i touch them with my fingers but they work whit the s pen! Anyone with the same problem or a solution?
Thx
S-pen uses different method of detecting key presses (including back and menu keys) than finger touch. If I was you I would do full factory reset to remove possibility of software being corrupted and if that didn't work I would take it to the service with possible hardware issue.

The problem started on the stock rom. The key would not light up and they would not respond on my fingers just my s pen... this was the first phone that i liked on a stock rom haha... but i rooted it in hoppe that it would solve the problem.... i installed the wicked v5 rom... but still nothing... i called the service and they never heared about a problem like that... haha... but they sad that i had to repair the hole thing (digitizer,display...) not just the buttons... so not a cheap thing to do...
If it happened on stock firmware, presumably with Knox flag still 0, shouldn't you take it to service then? Now probably with flag =1, hopefully they won't give you hard time if the phone has to go to Samsung service center, or was warranty repair not an option from the beginning? Anyhow, full reset would not hurt. You could also take it apart and see if cables are loose, or something, otherwise service center is your friend. I've seen videos but don't remember now if those buttons are separate or part of the screen, but just FYI full screen with digitizer cost well over $200.

It is under 1 year warranty........................... Unless it was blacklisted.
TWEAKED 2.0
Try something simpler like Settings>Controls>Increase touch sensitivity. Toggle that and maybe your finger will work. Perhaps it thinks your fingers are made of leather and you haven't been moisturizing with enough coconut oil (lol).
Sounds like you have some hardware issues my friend.
I would root, run a logcat, use LogcatX or something, and run a floating log cat session... touch the keys with your finger and see if the touch is being registered by a "touch event" being displayed in your log...
If you get nothing, I would say you have a hardware issue. Almost certain. Warranty claim.

So i got my galaxy note 4 today and rooted it and was happily enjoying it until all of a sudden after a reboot all of my soft and hardware keys stopped working. the only keys that work are the home and volume up button. Probably should not have rooted till an official root for this version as in AT&T, not T-Mobile has been made. There could be some hardware differences since none of the roots in the international version are cross compatible.
There's plenty of others in the forum I know that have used the T-Mo root method without encountering my issue. I doubt that's the issue

Touch screen doesn`t work anymore

Yesterday suddenly my phone just deny to work with touch screen. I try hard reset with update.zip. I try clear data with button combination. I wonder what can be the cause? Is there anyone with the same problem? I wonder if i change the touch screen what will happen? Because the screen is not broken, i didnt hit the phone. The touch stopped just when it was with screen off. I hit the power button to wake it up, and then cant swipe.
Yes unfotunately mine as well. It happened 1 year ago, touchscreen used to work randomly. So I sent it back to China, but it was working perfectly.
After getting it back it worked for 1 month, and since impossible to do anything. Without touchscreen no TWRP, no backup possible, no flash.
It's a brick now and it is no guaranteed anymore. I lost my money my time and my nerves.
So sorry for you but I don't think you'll manage to fix it. I think it's an hardware issue.
You can try use OTG cable and a mouse.
Mine touchscreen have an row in the middle, with about 1 centimeter that don't recognize the touch, all the rest work perfect. With a mouse, work all.
Mine stopped working one morning. I left the phone on the bedside table and the next morning the touch screen didn’t work..that’s all…the screen is fine, I didn’t have any accident with it...
It was 4 months ago.. I tried everything I could to revive the phone, but I couldn’t.. so I bought a new phone, from different brand obviously
Good luck with yours!
