Hello, So i tryed to flash to CM10 rom for LG E970 and my screen went black after reboot. So then I tried t go back to stock with LGNPST and it would get to the logo and stop. So then (lol) I tried using a teenybin instead and now I can't get download mode to show up and all the screen will do it show a gray battery with a lighting bolt and sometimes when trying to power on or get to download mode it'll act like it's about to do something and shows a black screen with google in grey and an unlocked lock at the bottom of the screen. Help is all lost or can i fix this??

Use the KDZ Updater with the latest firmware version of your phone...
First, download and install the latest lg driver. (your phone must be unplugged when installing)
Second, download the LG E970 kdz.
Third, "google" and install the kdz updater.
Fourth, put your phone in "Download mode" by pressing both volume keys and plug into usb port (wait 2-3 seconds, your computer will load the driver)
Fifth, open the kdz updater and select "3GQCT" in type...and "CS_Emergency" in phone mode. Then browse & select the kdz you've just downloaded...and press the Launch button. It should take about 8-10 minutes to complete...your phone will reboot around param.94 then you can unplugged it and let it boot normally.
Finally, make a "factory reset" to erase all previous data and plug your phone to wall charger to gave him some fresh blood.
Give us some feedback & good luck :good:

Try to get in donwload mode pushing together volume+ and volume- and then plug in the usb cable (to your pc) do not release the buttons until you see the download mode logo on the screen. The phone has to be off before doing the procedure if it wont turn off , push the power button for something like 15 sec, should go off that way
Good luck and in the event that you can't go in download mode anymore , take it to assistance. It's the only way.

hello
i have an unlocked boot loader and rooted optimus g E971. today i flashed rom kitkat 4.4 everything went well no issues. I decided to go back to my back up and reflashed my stock rom once again everything went well. i noticed i was still rooted when i went back to stock but wasn't when on 4.4 which is another topic later. anyways i decided to install rom manager to experiment and i had stability issues with it. i noticed the phone would crash and reboot with secure booting error, i was able several times to restart phone and use. Now the phone cracshed before i could delete rom manger and im stuck on secure booting error. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44874388&postcount=36 however the problem is i can't get into download mode or recovey... Phone does nothing but say secure booting error, boot certification verify. trying numerous times nope not happening .after reading several posts im assuming this is all because the bootloader was not unlocked after reflashing back to stock.. is my phone garbage or how can i fix...pls help :crying:
This means you didn't unlock the bootloader.
To enter download mode, turn off the phone, then press vol up+vol down at the same time and plug the micro usb cable to pc. You will enter download mode. After using kdz updater, make a hard reset by turning off phone, then press vol down+power at the same time, until the hard reset menu will appear. Press power twice to confirm and that's it. A new stock phone.
After this, you can root and unlock it again. Just remember to put somewhere safe the freegee folder after you unlock.

Press just the power button for a minute
Now press both volume buttons and plug in the USB cable. It should go into download mode.
If not press power again for a minute and plug in charger and see if it shows regular charging animation.

Warning to everyone please avoid using Freegee Relock feature it can cause semi hardbrick or worst a full hardbrick.
I just had a SEMI NIGHTMARE using Freegee
I installed Freegee, then installed CWM classic installation, everything went fine also made nandroid and efs backup. So I decided to Relock and then "semi hardbrick" happen.
Why Semi Hardbrick because you think you can no longer use the usual Download Mode tricks. (Insert USB, when battery show press the combo key) but that will not happen no matter what you do.
What you see in the screen is a freeze up LG logo with error like secure boot encryption in two lines or something like that.
The hard reset command still work but you cant go any further you will see the error again.
Ok here's the trick and its very tricky its like catching a fly for a Download Mode.
Normally during boot LG logo normally flick twice, then the battery shows if your insert the cable or the animation Logo if loading the system, mine don,t during this trouble time.
What happen that it seems you cant turn off your phone it persist to turn ON with boot encrption error on the screen but to turn OFF you press and hold volume down or up or both and power (this is the key to go Download Mode)
I used the volume down + up and power button
While turning off the device and you think the logo stops showing up release the key then quickly insert usb cable when the LED light turns ON quickly press the Volume UP, DOWN, POWER congrats Download Mode ^_^
I reminder to anyone Please don't use the Freegee Relock function. But if want to witness the near death experience go ahead its safe now ^_^

Yeah I remember I was still plugin (charging using PC) when I use the Relock function of course I have to reboot after that.
If you mean when it gets error you cant plugin your usb because it will trigger the device to turn ON and it persist to turn ON

when you are plugged in either by charger or computer, you might not enter recovery or download mode.
turn off your phone by pressing power for extended time.

Are you sure about download mode? Not using cable?

what i have seen here and done myself, sometimes no matter how smart you are or knowledge you have, one always misses the smallest of the things.
yes if you are plugged in you will have a had time to get into download mode or even recovery. sometimes it just wont enter either.
also sometimes phones seems turned off but its not that's where pressing power for extended times comes up. otherwise it will try to boot on plug.
You are far from hard bricked (that's the good news). If the device turns on at all its not hard bricked. If you are getting a security error its most likely because you uninstalled some system apps and didn't put them back before relocking. You might also have not had a backup of your boot.img. Freegee will restore your phone without a boot.img backup if it can't find it, since at least that would put you close enough to stock if you had to take it in, and you can still use download mode.
You can get to download mode because you see the lge logo, download mode is before that logo in the boot sequence.

Do you have ADB installed? If you do, just open cmd...type cd...then type the name of folder where adb is installed, then press enter. Type adb reboot recovery. That should boot you back to recovery so that you can flash what you need.
If that doesnt work...press and hold down the volume buttons(while phone is off)....then plug it in to your computers usb port. Your phone should say download mode. You need to download LGFlashTool, your original lg stock firmware and a dll file to get you back to stock. Hope this works.

you wont be able to get to recovery(trust me i know). Download lgflashtools, your phone model's kdz or tot file (KDZ for E988, F240, tot for E980) and flash. there is a detailed tutorial with all necesary files. I hope you made a backup on your sd card becasue you are about to loose everything on your internal storage. In the weird case that you have an E980 and flashtools does not recognize your device(shows a fail message), use the flashtools for the international version and flash either stock panama or telcel firmware.
The issue resolved using the lg flash tool. Thanks for everybody
Hi guys,
So basically the problems i'm facing is, I turn on the phone and it i'm greeted with the lg logo for a while then it stays on the logo. I notice the led light changing colours but it's still on the lg logo. Few minutes after that it restarts on it's own and goes in the same kind of loop.
What I have tried:
Used the flash tool with tot and the dll file to reflash the phone, but all what ends up happening is it will keep restarting.
Tried entering recovery mode using the volume down and power button but it never goes in, it's as if it has no recovery. The only thing that works is download mode.
So any ideas? the phone to me seems like it's booting and the led notification lights are flashing but it's just stuck on the lg logo.
Thanks.

I'm 100% sure it's in download mode as when I enter download mode it literally says "download mode" then the actual download mode screen comes up with the port that I am connected using and so on, so any ideas?

How does your PC recognize your phone if you plug it in?
Maybe you should (re)install latest LG Drivers and try again with flashtool. Which Flashtool do you use?
In my case of brick there was no Download-Mode anymore, just entered it and then after a few seconds a black screen with fastboot mode - so it looked like download mode but it wasnt, but i also didnt have flashing leds.
Soo.... I messed up and edited the build.prop specificly the ro.build.type property. I tried to enable some debug options without validating if this would be a good idea (hint: it's not).
It seems that this has bricked my phone, the first LG splash screen shows up with the powered by android, and the second animation just keeps loading forever (making the phone very hot). And the LED flashes blue continously.
I did manage to get the device visible in ADB but it tells me that the device is offline so I can't do anything with it.
Tried booting in recovery mode (holding power button + volume down) but it just own't go into recovery mode.
Some extra info of what runs on my phone:
- version H815
- Android 6.0
- bootloader unlocked
- TWRP installed
- Rooted
- XPosed installed
Any idea on what I could try to fix it? (I guess stuck with a brick but oh well).
Thanks!
What do you mean, by it can't go into recovery mode?
Nothing is showing on screen?
Go to downlod mode either use lgup or lg flashtool to reflash the firmware that you are on... Do u remember which firmware you were on ?
Thanks for the replies!

I meant that it just boots 'normally' when I press those buttons, it shows me the first LG logo and the second animation just hangs, whatever I do. I tried all sorts of combinations with the power button + volume down. (Keeping it pressed, briefly letting it go after the lg logo and repressing them).

I don't know exactly which firmware I was on but I can't even get my phone into download mode (same as my other response, pressing volume up doesn't do anything).
The recovery and download mode used to work but I have no idea why it doesn't now...
When booting the phone, hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously, when LG logo appear, push the power button again. You should see the white screen, where you choose "YES" twice. Then the phone should kick you into TWRP or different recovery mode.
But how the hell editing build.prop can mess with recovery and download mode? Sounds incredible

Maybe he has bootloop issue... ILAPO
Yeah I have no idea why the buttons aren't working for me. After a lot of searching I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/soft-bricked-device-t3248144
Which is basicly the same thing I'm experiencing, ADB comes online for just a brief second (kept spamming the reboot recovery command) and got in TWRP and I just flashed another which worked fine.
Odd thing is, even now my phone works I can't start recovery or download with the hardware buttons...... oh well, thankfully adb works as it's supposed to.
Thank you all for your help!
