[Q] stuck in secure booting - LG Optimus G (International)

hello
i have an unlocked boot loader and rooted optimus g E971. today i flashed rom kitkat 4.4 everything went well no issues. I decided to go back to my back up and reflashed my stock rom once again everything went well. i noticed i was still rooted when i went back to stock but wasn't when on 4.4 which is another topic later. anyways i decided to install rom manager to experiment and i had stability issues with it. i noticed the phone would crash and reboot with secure booting error, i was able several times to restart phone and use. Now the phone cracshed before i could delete rom manger and im stuck on secure booting error. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44874388&postcount=36 however the problem is i can't get into download mode or recovey... Phone does nothing but say secure booting error, boot certification verify. trying numerous times nope not happening .after reading several posts im assuming this is all because the bootloader was not unlocked after reflashing back to stock.. is my phone garbage or how can i fix...pls help :crying:

This means you didn't unlock the bootloader.
To enter download mode, turn off the phone, then press vol up+vol down at the same time and plug the micro usb cable to pc. You will enter download mode. After using kdz updater, make a hard reset by turning off phone, then press vol down+power at the same time, until the hard reset menu will appear. Press power twice to confirm and that's it. A new stock phone.
After this, you can root and unlock it again. Just remember to put somewhere safe the freegee folder after you unlock.

Press just the power button for a minute
Now press both volume buttons and plug in the USB cable. It should go into download mode.
If not press power again for a minute and plug in charger and see if it shows regular charging animation.

Stock, can't get into recovery/download modes

Hi guys. Im pretty experienced with android but this one has me stumped. My buddies brother has a stock/non-rooted optimus g e971 on Rogers. He changed his screen lock password and forgot what it is. Of course he never register a Gmail account so I can't recover that way. I figure no problem. Shut down, pwr+vol down to factory reset. Well nope doesn't work. It flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
Ok so I figure I'll just put it in download mode/fast boot to do the factory reset. Tried pwr+vol up. Nope. Vol up+vol down+pwr. Nope. Vol up+vol down and plug usb+pwr. Nope. It just flashed the lg logo twice then boots like normal. I've tried multiple variations of each holding the pwr for different lengths of time, always with the same result.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's not bricked, and the vol keys are working, it just won't go into any modes.
also I dont know if he has hardware encryption enabled (of if thats even an option on this device) but would that even prevent me from getting into factory reset / download mode?
Also I check that the vol rocker is working. when it is on but screen is off, if i click the vol rocker either way it wakes the screen.
I have a similar problem. Here's a thread I made about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-intl/help/enter-download-mode-t2883542.A couple of guys had some ideas.None worked in my phone but maybe you're luckier.
If you haven't done that already you should try going into download mode by pressing power up+down and plug the cable, don't press the pwr button.
If you find a solution pls let me know .
Yup, you shouldn't need to press the power button for download mode.
First, make sure you have the LG United Mobile drivers installed on the PC you're using. Then plug your USB cable into the PC (not the phone yet). Simultaneously press and hold the Vol +/- buttons, and hold for 10 seconds. Then while still holding the vol buttons, connect the micro usb to the phone.

Doesn't work either. If I hold +/- for 10 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice, then goes to the battery charging screen. If I hold +/- for 20 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
after reading this post i went and tried if i also cant get into the recovery and the same happened to me, the LG logo just flashes and nothing happens. mine is stock E975 (4.4.2).
worked for me.

Android has SD card encryption disabled by default - but if it was enabled it shouldnt disable recovery/fastboot - right?
Even if the bootloader is locked, i should still be able to get into fastboot/download mode, and/or recovery, right?

[Q] Lg g3 vs985 not going into recovery while device is powered off

Please help lg g 3 won't enter custom recovery I've tried all button variations
Please someone help I have a rooted g3 and don't wanna brick it?????

I've seen people are viewing this post if anyone know how to fix my problem please help or message me, the minimal adb won't work unless the device is turned on in usb. debugging, I can access my recovery with phone on easily but while it's powered off I should be able to get to custom recovery by pressing volume down and power while phone is off, but this method isn't working. So if I get in bootloop I can't get into custom recovery...please anyone any ideas
Well it should be as simple as holding down power and volume button down things but i guess you've already tried that method many times and it didnt work so you ask then, right?
If your phone in bootloop, you can flash tot files and it will back to stock re-root and re-install trwp.
If your phone still (or already) normal, you can download an app that can take you to custom recovery such as rebooter or power menu, thats it.
Yea phone isn't in bootloop, but if I put a Rom on phone I have no way to access the recovery because the volume and power won't take me to the recovery, so if it goes into bootloop I'm outta of luck I don't understand why the hardware buttons won't take me to the recovery, have you ever heard of this problem

How long are you holding the vol down and power buttons? It should be around 15-20 seconds, then your system recovery screen comes up, you choose factory data reset, yes, and then TWRP comes up. If that isn't working - are you sure your buttons are working OK?
If the phone is turned off is there any other way to access it while phone is off?
Yes buttons work fine I hold it down and it just goes to Verizon screen ?
Actually when I hold it down it just stays on logo and reboots back to logo over and over and over
Actually I hold it down and it reboots to logo over and over its like there's no recovery there I don't understand lol
If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on how to fix this please let me know

OK... Does your phone boot into your ROM at all or are you bootlooped? If your phone boots, download an app called flashify and get the proper twrp .img file for your model and flash the image using flashify. It's an easy app to use - just make sure you're using the correct twrp .img for your phone...from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966129
If you are bootlooped I would suggest starting over and reflashing back to stock using the tot or kdz method. Here is a guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/restore-verizon-to-stock-t2827878 I know it can be a pain to get the download tool working properly sometimes, so it may take some effort to get it working, but be patient (and read a lot if you get stuck) and you will get it working.
I don't know how you got borked...maybe it was an un-bumped twrp image? Either way, it is what it is, just try not to do it again Good luck.
Thanks much I'll try this
When this happened to me i would
1: remove battery
2: insert battery
3: hold volume down and lock button at the same time
4: When the LG Logo pops up release the lock button for 1 second (while still holding the volume down button), then press down again
5: A data reset/restore menu appears, and when you choose to reset/restore, TWRP boots to recovery.

[Q] Tab Pro 8.4 won't turn on

Hello everyone! My Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 won't turn on anymore. I tried charging it, that wasn't the issue. I left it on the charger and nothing changed. I plugged it into my PC and it didn't make any noises and it doesn't even recognize it as an unrecognizable device. Is there any button combo to see if it's 100% fried or not?
A couple of weeks ago I rooted it and updated it to another ROM, but it had been working PERFECTLY since then! WEEKS!
Any suggestions?
power button
Press and hold the power button for 30 - 40 seconds and see if it powers up. I had this problem yesterday.

Before flashing I made a TWRP Backup, as well as a Flashify-backup.

to restore everything you will need to boot into download mode , if you are in download mode now you can use kies or odin to flash the stock firmware and this will correct everything.
to boot to download mode its either (Power + vol down) , or (power + vol up) , try both until you see it say download mode., or if you are currently in twrp you can select reboot->download mode
you can get th stock firmware here

I have already tried key combinations, but still the same.
@hainguyenthao helped me out. Showed me how to get into downlaod mode without pressing power and vol down!
Let the phone power down, leave it for 30 mins or so. then press vol up and vol down and insert USB cable.
OR if phone is in bootloop, press vol down and power till phone reboots, then VERY quickly hold down vol up and vol down and plug in USB cable
Dude, To put device in download mode - Press Volume Up & then Press Volume Down (Keep holding both) and connect device to PC with USB cable.
But for your problem you have to put your device in recovery mode then flash ROM. Still the problem continues, you can try this download link
I've the same problem with my Note 10+... Was on Dr. Ketan Rom and update with magisk app ends in a boot loop, I couldn't break -.-
@vinokirk could you solve the problem?
Edit: Thanks to @starpandi2004 - on the first try I can break the bootloop, but just to the first screen. After choosing download mode, it comes bootloop again -.-
Is it worth to try to lock bootloader and factory reset phone? What will happen? Is the original rom somewhere packed and would be installed again by factory reset?

i connected mine to the pc and use power+up volume until twrp appeear and them restores from last backup
I got the simplest solution for this issue!
If u r stuck on Samsung logo, then try this method.
Turn off the phone by pressing vol down and power button. Once the phone is shut down, release and press again the vol down and power button when u see Samsung note 10 plus screen, then release the power button but keep pressing vol down. Once u see the "Samsung" logo, immediately release the vol down button and quickly press vol up button.
This will boot up without any problem!

Have I just bricked my faithful A70?

So I tried to install TWRP and followed the steps, used ODIN v3.14, it tried to upload something but failed with an error.
Now the phone has gone into a perpetual restart cycle:
1) Reboot (by itself or Vol Down + Power)
2) Blank screen with: "Galaxy A70 - Secured by Knox - Powered by Android"
3) Screen with: "This phone's bootloader is unlocked and its software integrity... - Press power key to continue"
4) Blank screen with: "Galaxy A70 - Secured by Knox - Powered by Android"
5) Blank screen with: "SAMSUNG" for a very long time
6) eventually back to step 1
****************
Is there a way to get back this phone?
I was flashed twrp normally and nothing happened for me. Did you pressed vol up+power ASAP after flash successful ? If not, go to download mode and flash again, then press vol up+power immediately.
I never managed to flash TWRP, ODIN displayed an error when I tried.
1. Your using the wrong version of odin. You need 3.13.3
2. Sounds like your not key comboing fast enough?
3. You can not hard brick the A70. If its in a boot loop, plug into pc and Continue to hold vol up and down till it boots to download mode. Flash latest stock version then reboot.

Get frija from the link in my guide under tools, install it on your pc, then use it to download your latest stock firmware. Make sure you have odin 3.13.3 as well
In frija, enter the model number and the region code of the A70
In my case it would be SM-A705MN/ TTT
Do NOT flash other models, it must be for your Model. Also, dont flash csc_home in this instance, use csc. When loading the AP file, it will take a little bit to load in and you may see odin has stopped working, ignore that and it will eventually load, make sure auto reboot is unchecked everytime you use odin. The first step in my guide says to download and flash latest stock firmware. Anytime your going to do modifications to a device, make sure to have the latest stock firmware first.
Many thanks for suggestions.
I managed to download the stock firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a70/firmware/SM-A705FN/BTU/#SM-A705FN and have uploaded it using ODIN 3.14 The phone has now started, like new / factory reset.
I am now setting it up (Samsung firmware) just to make sure I have got my phone back.
After I will try to zap and upload another ROM.

In download mode, Android 11, to exit, it litterly tells you on the screen to hold vol down and power to reboot. Vol up and power does nothing in this state. To get to twrp from download mode, hold vol down and power till screen goes blank and then press and hold vol up. This will boot to twrp. Other ways to boot to twrp is power off device, plug into pc, wait for it to charge, then hild vol up and power till it boots or if magisk is installed, use magisk reboot options.
Dude, your key combos and information is incorrect. You can not reboot to twrp from download mode by holding vol up and power.
Samsung changed the keymap combination to boot into recovery on 3.1, so to boot into recovery stock or whatever it is, just follow the steps:
Connect your cellphone to the USB port.
Press on Volume UP during boot.
Samsung does weird things

My key combo is true, actually the wrong one is yours This is the valid way also on the latest bootloader but like haky86 said, on latest bootloader Samsung wants you to plug USB cable to do this.
So we are agreed, there is no way to get to TWRP unless you are connected to USB? For example, on my one old phone, I used to keep TWRP backups on the SD card, and I could restore anywhere, I did not need to be near the PC with a USB cable.
