Hello, I've just run into an issue whereby I had to unroot my device. I did this using SuperSu, it confirmed with rootchecker and then cleared my cache with App cache cleaner. This was all done because today for my AT&T Lg optimus G pro there was a software update... Its giving me an error saying I'm still rooted "0x13e" is there somthing I'm forgetting to undo? I did also install Avast! anti theft as root if that helps. I did also remove all at&t bloatware.
Maybe there is an answer to your Q here

A load of horse s**t that automatic OTA updater is....anyone know how to disable it? I got the exact same error as kyky7kyle7, but i never intended to update at all. It kept prompting me all day yesterday and I kept declining, unable to completely disable it, and this morning I find that it downloaded the whole update over mobile data connection (vs. Wi-Fi), and this thing sucked out 240mb 300 mb plan.
The OTA was only 66.2MB as I recall.

Does the market load and after you click update or whatever you get an error? Do you have background data turned off?

Tmobile at least in the us requires a data connection. If you have background data turned off you should get a warning message when trying to open the market.
But if that's not the case what you said should work..and if not...reflash lol

Yea as I said yesterday clearing data didn't work
And I hate to say I did reflash and that didn't work
I can go to market and dowload/update but when installing fails "unsucessful not enough storrage"
Tve got 1.03 gigs internal and a couple gigs on the sim avaible... if background is off I can't do anything in market...
Thanks
For the past few days now around 1 am - 2am PST, my phone keeps popping up with a warning saying the phone is going to download the 2.3.4 update. Is there a way to disable this with TB free on a verizon stock rom, that has the bloatware removed (with backups from TB free on ms)? Either by making a backup of Whatever has to be uninstalled.
Also, due to the fact that the bloatware isn't on the phone will the phone even accept the update, IF it was downloaded?
Most of the time I turn off wifi and wnable airplane mode before I go to sleep, but the msg pops up when I'm still awake.

Use TB to freeze the "Mobile Care" app, that will do it.

The thing is I only have the free version, and don't have enough to get the pro key yet...and I don't know when I will have enough to get it.
So can I just make a backup of it and uninstall it?

The "invalid context during scan" is a known issue. Looks like they're on it.
See: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=113837.0
Android security is tight not even a water drop can get by idk why you would need this program...

Just clear data... And it will update virus definitions... Had the problem this morning and now is working fine... Most settings were retained.

There's no need to clear data. Just manually update Avast and the warnings will disappear on the next scan, as per the thread TallCan211 links to. Phew!! :victory:
I did try to manually update on wifi and 3g and was throwing an error message... Something like the previous download was corrupted andit would not let me update.

Hello, I noticed I lost root after the ota update.
Strangely it went even if I had disabled them via first aide..
It's a glitch or they found a way around it?

So, set up my new tab pro 12.2 last night. This morning it seems like it is still downloading stuff.
When I look at data usage it looks like it has downloaded a total of 3G, about 2.25G just from google play store!
I know I don't have THAT many apps installed, and when I open the play store it doesn't look like it is doing anything.
Any ideas??
I got the 10.1 a few days ago. Today all of a sudden I got the same thing - but it was from the Samsung app store. It was all the Hanson office suite program files. I thought it was odd, myself.

Same here. Got new 10 in. yesterday and got it from both ends. Samsung downloaded a bunch of stuff then Google updated all the gapps crap b4 I got in to turn off auto update. After I play with it awhile, I will factory restore, TWRP recovery, and get rid of a bunch of bloat. I didn't sign up on the Samsung apps yet. Don't know if I want another user I'd to track. I rooted already. Am going to install Xposed framework.

For a new Tab after unboxing and setup is that normal, Google play will update all apps to the newest version.
After this update disable the autoupdate check by all google apps, so Google will ask you for the update.
If you make a factory reset or full wipe it will this do again.
For Samsung apps, this will only update if you create a Samsung account.
Delete your SAM account.
If you don't let it connect to wifi, you can turn off autoupdate, then login.
